The owner was friendly but had little knowledge of the techniques used to cut thick hair. She just took very large chunks of hair and cut them, not looking twice to see if they were even. Not only did I leave with very short layers around the entire perimeter of my head, but she stacked the back so much that it looked 100 times thicker than it already was. There was no blending whatsoever. I told her I wanted the back to be all one length as I didn't really like layers showing.
The worst part was that when I got home, I noticed that my bangs had a difference of over half an inch from side to side.
The cut was very basic. She kept snipping her scissors around my head like she was clipping stray hairs. No precision whatsoever. She didn't check her work even once throughout the process. Not only were my bangs off but the hair cut itself from side to side was different lengths.
I had to spend over $100 and an hour at another salon the next day to have the issue corrected. My hair is now so short that I leave it in a hat most of the time. Shorter than I am comfortable with but it was the only way to fix it. Given how uncomfortable I was with the situation I did not go back to Autumn to have my hair fixed because I did not have confidence in her ability.
When I messaged her photos of the issues she made excuses about being sick and not being at her best. When I requested a refund for the services since I had to have them redone ultimately giving me a haircut I hated one week before my vacation, she stopped messaging me.
Overall: 0 out of 10. I wouldn't recommend.

I don’t think I have ever had a worse haircut. Looked great the day at the salon but now at home it is super obvious that the bangs are choppy and not at all professionally done. Which is really weird given the stellar previous reviews. Autumn did my hair and while she was nice, this is the worst haircut I have seen.Not recommended.

Great people ! The atmosphere is nice, the service is pretty good. Greatful there is a place close by ,to get my eyebrows done.

Autumn is amazing. She did a great job with my hair and sitting there for almost 3 hours getting it done was a hoot!! We chatted and laughed and made the best of it. Even if I have to wait a month to get in and get my hair done by her it's totally worth it.Services: Hairstyling

Kristen was amazing! She understood what I wanted and cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it. She even encouraged me to let her take pictures of the cut to show the next stylist because I RV full-time and do not live here.Service: Haircut

Artistic-Roots Salon was awesome for our Bridal up-do's. Autumn was super helpful and did everything she could to assist our needs when our timelines changed on wedding day and we needed to get our hair done sooner than planned. Also, impressively my bridal up-do held up against 40mph winds on top of Mt Mansfield and it still looked flawless for pictures by the end of our day! I highly recommend this salon and Autumn for all wedding day hair needs!

I've had my hair cut by Gayle several times now. I finally let Gayle take the lead my last haircut and I can honestly say it's the best cut I've ever had. Very prompt, professional, and a beautiful salon location.

They were very nice, but I was very underwhelmed with the work done. Pedicure cost $40 (highest I’ve ever paid) and I didn’t feel any difference afterwards. Had to still go home and do it over by myself. The person who was doing my hair told me she didn’t have time for my highlights, even though I had scheduled for it.

I've never gone into a salon to get a haircut and walked out without noticing a flaw... either a piece not cut or cut too short or the style different than what I'd asked for and so forth, until I had Autumn cut my hair. She did exactly what I wanted. She asked questions throughout the whole process. I left there feeling satisfied and beautiful!! I'm sure all of the ladies there do just as good as a job as well... otherwise I'm sure they wouldn't have been hired

This is a salon that takes great pride in their name and the job they do. I personally have autumn do my hair, and I give her the reins to do whatever cause she knows how I like length, colors, etc. I highly recommend this salon for any age , hair type, etc. I promise you wont be sorry. Remember.. you get what you pay for, and if my hair looks good even after 2 brain surgeries, and let me tell you, autumn has had to fix the messes of my surgeons work, and I came out of the salon feeling like a million bucks. Thank you for all you ladies do at artistic roots.
