Took my car in for an inspection, and even though it didn't pass, the person who helped me out was very thorough and honest. He made a list of things that needed to be done and was willing to work with me around it to get it all done at a reasonable cost. Overall I am very happy and will take my car back for future appointments.

My alternator perished a dishonorable death as I rolled into Montpelier today...every single repair place was full until tomorrow. Thomas Auto Service took my Honda Pilot in saying that they might be able to get to it. not only did they get to it, they repaired it beautifully and was able to drive home to my family.

The people are very nice. However, they did an inspection on my car and told me all the brakes were fine. 2 months later I have metal grinding on metal and need to replace the rotors and calipers. On a different job they held my truck for almost 2 months and every week told me a new timeframe. Told me they replaced the window switch 4 times and they needed a special one to fix the problem. Then they literally never ordered it. I bought an after market switch for $50 and installed it myself. I really think they need to look into their quality control.

These guys squeezed me in for a tire swap with no appointment. They were friendly and helpful. Their labor cost is slightly higher than average, but it's still a fair price for quality work. I was stressed out, and the mechanics here put me at ease immediately. I will return when I need my next oil change!

a young lady I know recently had work done here to pass a state inspection. charged for the part plus two hours labor. only to find out less than a week later there was a outer tierod end ready to fall apart on the same side they replaced a inner. extremely dangerous and the owner admitted telling her it would have to be replaced soon. that would not pass a legitimate vt state inspection.

Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience not unlike the one described by the reviewer Mira, below. I took my car in because it would not start. I was called, toward the very end of the work day, and told that the diagnosis was a dead battery and that the cost to fix would be about $450. I had to get off work early, buy my own battery (about $175), and install it myself with less than 15 minutes of work. Including the retail price of a battery, the half-hour diagnostic charge, and a charge for the actual time for installation, by my calculations it seems like they still tried to charge me almost double what the actual cost should have been. I feel that this establishment tried to cheat me by quoting me such a ridiculously inflated price for such a quick fix. I would not recommend this place to any of my friends or family, and I will never go there again.
