We stayed for our second time at the Red Clover Inn as we considered it and have booked for our wedding in May (a review to come after the wedding about this experience). This review is just to speak to our overnight accommodations at the Red Clover Inn with my mom and mother-in-law.
The Inn has so much character and charm, we stayed in the Maggie and Gillian and had two separate sleeping spaces. We had a very comfortable one night stay in September, the foliage was beautiful and Venetia and her staff went far above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. She lit the fire pit for us in the evening, and greeted us with fresh apple turnovers in the morning, it was like something out of a book. The rooms were comfortable and suited our needs for the short overnight. We loved spending time in the common spaces of the inn. The location of the property is perfectly situated between downtown Rutland and Killington. We went into Killington for dinner just 15 minutes away and then explored downtown Rutland the next day. This would be the perfect accommodation for your typical Vermont adventures.
We can't wait to get married here in May.

We had the absolute best experience hosting our wedding at the Red Clover Inn. Upon first visiting, we fell completely in love with the beautiful scenery and private seclusion that the property boasts. The grounds, the main historical inn, the carriage house, and the farm house are immaculately kept and decorated combining rustic and modern elements throughout. We shared the Claire room and it is breathtakingly beautiful with a private balcony, high ceilings, fireplace, four-poster king bed, full bath and soaking tub, and sitting area. The property was perfect for hosting our family and bridal party for the weekend onsite and exuded such a warm, home-away-from-home atmosphere for us and our guests.
We cannot thank the owners, Venetia and Mark, enough for their impeccable hospitality, organization, and coordination of the most magical day. Throughout the entire process of planning our wedding, Venetia made our decision making extremely easy by providing us with extensive timeline planning, vendor suggestions, and an overall vision for how to best set-up our wedding from rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks to our ceremony, reception, and after party. She truly was there every step of the way to provide any help and support that we needed.
Not only were Venetia and Mark amazing hosts, their staff at the inn was so welcoming and helpful. Every single staff member that was there to help run our event made us feel so at home in this space and so, so beyond special. We couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect weekend to celebrate with our family and friends and we will definitely be returning to the inn for visits in the future. This place holds such a dear part of our hearts and we cannot recommend it enough to couples looking for a romantic, intimate wedding in the heart of Killington!

My husband and I got married at the Red Clover Inn this Spring and we cannot overstate how incredible it was. We looked at a ton of venues, but ultimately picked the Red Clover because it perfectly aligned with the aesthetic we were going for. The venue is rustic, charming, secluded, has a rich history, and the backdrop of the green mountains is just stunning. We also really liked how about half of our guests could stay onsite with us the whole weekend and just hang out together. The pricing also aligned with our budget.
Additionally, the owners of the Inn are two of the sweetest people you will ever meet. Venetia & Mark just went absolutely above and beyond making our wedding weekend extra special. It’s really the little surprises that hit you in the feels. Venetia made this adorable welcome sign for us that had our name on it, there was champagne waiting for us in our suite when we arrived as well as a delicious charcuterie board. She also put together a gorgeous Chuppah for us which blew us away.
My husband and I, along with all of our guests, can’t stop talking about what an amazing time we had and how perfect of a weekend it was. Our guests also commented on how beautifully everything flowed on the wedding day itself as well as how amazing all the staff was.
I highly recommend the Red Clover to anyone looking for a weekend getaway wedding where you can have people stay onsite with you and who love a beautiful New England setting. Mark & Venetia and the Red Clover Staff do really great things, and we’re so grateful that we picked the Red Clover because we have the most perfect memories to look back on for the rest of our lives ?

We planned a weekend getaway wedding for my daughter at the Red Clover Inn and it was amazing! Guests remarked how they loved their accommodations, with its quaint charm but modern updates. Plenty of space on the grounds for lawn games and socializing by the bonfire. The outdoor hot tub was a treat. The owner, Venetia, made sure everything looked its best for the ceremony and the reception. Provided during our stay was a nice self serve breakfast, with beverages and snacks available throughout the weekend.. One of Venetia’s employees, Sheila, was incredibly helpful and a pleasure to work with. After a short period of time on the grounds we felt like we were in a well taken care of home with staff eager to please. If you are looking for a wedding venue in the Rutland/Killington area I highly recommend the Red Clover Inn.

I found the Red Clover Inn by happy accident while looking for a place close enough to Burlington where we were headed for the eclipse. My only regret is that we could not stay at the Inn longer! It is a lovely, welcoming place that really makes you feel at home. From the snacks to the games to the common rooms, I would go back in a heartbeat! Wonderful experience.

Had a wonderful stay at the Red Clover Inn. I've been coming up to Killington for ski trips for the past 15 years and I've stayed just about everywhere. Venetia and Mark and the entire staff were wonderful to communicate with and the attention to detail is unmatched. I would highly recommend and I'll be coming back. Thanks again!

What a gem! We have yet to stay anywhere else when we ride killington! Literally just minutes away from the mountain! The new owners have been revamping quite well since they took over! It appears they really have taken the time to think of everything, and they continue to do so! Everything you need is at one fantastic place to stay in Mendon at a fair rate! Thank you, Mark and Venetia for continually having us!Rooms: Very nicely set with comfortable beds!Nearby activities: skiing, hiking, bikingFood & drinks: No on site dining, but they have an assortment of snacks and refreshments and a great continental breakfast!

Rooms: The room was luxurious! And quite peaceful!Nearby activities: Mendon is right next door to Killington. Plenty of skiing, snowboarding, tubing and snow mobility. And the inn provides snowshoes! And if there’s no snow there’s ample hiking trails.Food & drinks: There are great restaurants nearby. Plenty to choose from at all price levels. And the inn provides a continental breakfast and snacks and drinks in the main house.

My fiancé and I absolutely loved our time spent at the Red Clover! We are having our wedding there next year, and have stayed at the Inn several times in the planning process. The rooms are beautiful and well kept, and the Inn is incredibly charming. Venetia, the owner and innkeeper, is so kind and hospitable. She made sure that we felt right at home and welcome. Some of our favorite things about the inn are the stunning views of the mountains, the serenity and privacy of the location, and the warm and friendly staff. We’re looking forward to our wedding, and are happy to have found this gem!
