I appreciate your kind and gentle approach with me and my babies each time I’m there

This is by far the worst run veterinary clinic in the state of Vermont if not the country. From the clerks in the front, techs, doctors and office manager incompetence is putting it nicely. They seem more about deposits than actually helping pets. If you value your pet this is not the place for you. If you are expecting competent staff and office manager stay far away. If you are a person of color you need to run away from this place they will not help you!

Dr. Pratt and the technicians are always so nice and very pleasant. Dr. Pratt is very thorough which is what you want from a vet. She explains things so you understand and answers questions without making you feel dumb. I appreciate their wonderful service and her honesty. The only concern I have are the receptionists. They seem to be very on edge and unhappy. I've only had the pleasure of having a couple that weren't uptight or didn't seem unhappy. I get the job is a difficult one but when people are coming in, sometimes under extreme stress themselves, it's nice to be greatest with a smile and/or some conversation. I really do appreciate everyone who works there though and appreciate their service.

Our dog was choking and suffering; I brought him in and the staff immediately addressed the problem. Everyone understood the urgency of the situation and acted professionally. We're so relieved.

I took my 16-year-old Pomeranian for a wellness check with Dr. Sara Brennan. Although she greeted me kindly, I felt she was a bit dismissive of my concerns. I don't usually go to LVVS, but since I had Wolfie's treatment done there before, I decided to return for this wellness visit. Dr. Brennan seemed more focused on the need for a letter to excuse my elderly dog from vaccinations than on my dog's health. At Sequist, I usually get this letter without any issues.
During the appointment, Dr. Brennan remarked that it seemed like I needed a letter to excuse the vaccination. I tried to explain that my primary concern was Wolfie's health, especially since she was close to dying just a few weeks ago. The letter is meaningless if Wolfie doesn't survive. I also mentioned that Wolfie going into heat so soon after her first set of antibiotics didn't seem right and that there might be an overlooked diagnosis. Dr. Brennan insisted that her heat cycle would trigger the infection, but I pointed out that the infection recurred only two weeks after the antibiotics, suggesting there could be more to her condition. Despite this, Dr. Brennan dismissed my concerns and reiterated that she couldn't provide the letter, raising her voice to say, "it's the law."
This mentality worried me because blindly following the law doesn't always equate to the right decision. I felt she prioritized following the law over using her medical judgment to assess whether it was truly necessary to vaccinate a dying dog.
I won't be returning to LVVS, but I felt it was important to share my experience.
Additionally, the receptionist welcomed others who arrived after me, which added to the chaotic atmosphere. I'm not sure if this is standard practice but everything about this appointment felt off.
Update: Wolfie passed away two weeks after this visit.
BTW: If you want a cheap veterinary goto Pet Vet.

Our new pup Lola went for her x2hernia sugery and spay today, and like always they communicate and do a great kltrying to keep my anxiety low lol. We love LVVS! We started going there last year after many bad corporate vet experiences. When our pup Ruger passed there in February , we couldn't believe how well they treated us and Ruger. We knew that was our place. So we drive from Essex even though it is not convenient. Because we know that our animals will get the care we want them to receive. Thank you LVVS.

Called them tonight because my dad’s dog was having some issues. They felt necessary to tell me that before we brought her in that we should know that it’s $218 just to walk in the door and the only person there really couldn’t do anything so they’d probably have to call in a technician which is going to cost more money. I think It’s pretty sad that that was their concern over my dad‘s dogs health. If money was an issue, he never would’ve requested to bring her in there after hours.

Would have given 5 stars if it wasnt for the rude receptionist. She has no customer service skills what so ever. Place would be 10/10 without her! Otherwise happy with the visit! Was impressed how budget friendly (the doctor) made everything for me and my circumstance.

They were so nice and helpful from the second I called panicked on a Sunday. My dog was limping and whining in pain from a dew claw injury. The entire staff there was so loving towards my pup and me (I was sobbing the entire time lol). I could not say enough nice things about how they handled the nail removal and walking me through the steps/allowing me to be there when they did everything. Dr. Valerie was really sweet with my pup and helpful with me. Also didn't waste time to assess and resolve the issue with my dog. Really a big thank you to this place!!!! I also felt that the price was fair for a walk-in on a Sunday that required sedation.

I do recommend LVVS as our area vet clinic. Caring people on the other end of the line when I call regarding my Mainecoon, or our Border collie rescue. Schedule us within an expedited time frame, and kind attentive staff of vets with our pets! Most recently seen by Veterinarian Jared Krebs who was great with our puppy.

Dr. Pratt and the entire team were incredibly attentive and made both my pet and me feel completely at ease from the moment we walked in.
Despite their busy schedule, the staff demonstrated remarkable care and patience during the examination. Dr. Pratt's thorough explanation of my cat's condition was clear, comprehensive, and left no room for doubt. I felt fully informed and confident in the steps needed to help my cat recover.
What truly sets LVVS apart is the genuinely caring atmosphere created by their highly skilled team. Every interaction, from the front desk to the exam room, was handled with kindness and professionalism. It's reassuring to know that my pets are in such capable and compassionate hands.
I highly recommend LVVS to anyone in the area and beyond. If you’re looking for a veterinary hospital that combines expertise with heartfelt care, LVVS is the place to go.

We have always been pleased with the service which we have received from LVVS - whether bringing one of our cats for an exam, health concern, etc. or simply boarding our cats when we are away!
