Incredible food, service & prices! All of these were 10/10: Fall off the bone ribs, Mac n cheese (best I’ve ever had), coleslaw, baked beans, greens, cornbread, & the bbq sauce.

Such a cute little place to stop! They made us BBQ pulled pork mac and cheese and buffalo chicken tenders with a side of corn bread! The food was so delicious and it was a perfect lunch to have on our travels back home. Everyone in the place was extremely friendly and welcoming! We were so happy to have been able to stop by and support your family’s business! Thank you!

Great place for barbecue takeout. It was served up quick and can be ordered online. We took ours up to the lookout on hogback mountain and enjoyed plentiful servings.

Wow!!! Smokin Js is one of a kind, MUST stop on route 9 coming from Brattleboro or Wilmington. Reasonably priced comfort food it’s the real deal, love and Bbq to go. Meeting the owners Kelly and Kent was a blessing in my day today. Their kids Lauren and Connor were rad too. Photos of my food won’t do much justice since I was too busy eating- but the rack of ribs meat fell off the bone deliciousness, the Mac and cheese was creamy goodness, and the collards were the real deal southern lovin. Gotta add in the brownie on top to just put it over the edge. Best food experience I’ve had in VT yet. Oh and there’s ping pong, chess and a free library!!! Support these awesome folks.

Nice family run business with an awesome BBQ recipe and flare! Have visited many times over the last several months and every to go order gets better. Highly recommend the party packs for big gatherings or extra hungry evenings.

A laid-back, friendly, old-school Vermont atmosphere while you wait for OUTSTANDING barbecue to-go. Have fun without electronics playing ping pong, foosball, jenga, or peruse the book collection. A wonderful place to grab food after a long drive or if you want to walk in the door with a home cooked meal - without having to cook. Don't miss this mouthwatering opportunity!

We’ve passed by this restaurant a few times on our way to Hogback. The food looked really good, so figured we’d give it a shot. Let me tell you, J’s did not disappoint, whatsoever. We both ordered country fried steak with gravy. The sides were very generous portions, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and cornbread. The steak was incredible. Hands down some of the best fried steak I’ve ever had. This is the epitome of Southern BBQ style comfort food. I wish I could give this place 10 stars.

It feels like a game nerd gathering place rather than a normal restaurant. Not so many tables to sit and eat (They do have few outdoor tables). Interesting layout with ping pang table, reading corner and band stage etc. The food is surprisingly good! We ordered rib and gmhalf chicken, very tender and delicious. Even with this take-out place, the owner was very nice and check on you constantly when we decided dine in.I highly recommend you stop by and give a try when you leaf peeping. Way much better than that 6 min away restaurant called Pizzapalooza, if you don't want a $20 Domino like pizza with cash only option, overcrowded place.
