This pharmacy use to be the best place to go, but now it's terrible. There's a pharmacist whom is quite deranged, a female. I have epilepsy and I signed up for auto refill and she refuses to not only keep that med in stock, but she told insurance company shes not going to refill it, she rejected it. Two other times she said they don't have that medication in stock and it will be a week. How does that even happen when I've been getting it there for over 10yrs?? Who plays games with a patient that fights a terrible disease everyday?

They don't answer the phone. You must leave a voicemail. Competitive price on some items, but you can't quickly find out if they have it.

As others have said, this CVS location suffers from staffing issues and it's been frustrating to use.
If one customer is having issues with their prescription they only have one tech working the line, who will now have to address the problem (which can take quite awhile) resulting in the line getting even worse. Also, it seems like sometimes they can resolve issues for people, but other times they're way too busy to properly give those problems attention and recommend returning later.
Beyond that they close randomly, have problems filling the prescription on time, find issues that can't be fixed.... So I've left there many times without being able to get my prescriptions. It's very frustrating.
The employees are good at customer service despite the difficulties. If this location had better staffing/resources for the demand it could be much better.

I’ve never had a bad experience here. Unlike every other pharmacy I’ve been to in VT if there was something they thought I should know about a med they took an extra 30 seconds to tell me. One of the pharmacists even took an extra second to talk to my daughter, who was very curious about what pharmacists do, when we went in to pick up a prescription. Conveniently located. Always a little busy.

Drive thru never open. Closes randomly throughout the day. Prescriptions never filled in a timely manner. Chronically understaffed. Employees must be overworked and underpaid. This location needs a prescription.

Claim understaffed pharmacy. Poor customer service. Had a vaccine appointment for flu vaccine. CVS online stated not to make Novovax appointment so made a flu appointment. When said that I wanted to add Novax, said that they could not do it because they do not have enough time. Will not be coming back to this CVS.

It is impossible to reach anyone in the pharmacy. The phone just hangs up and there is no way to send a message. I had to drive all of the way there to simply ask why a Rx was not refilled from over a month ago. They are way understaffed!!!

I'm not a big negative review person but you should steer clear of at least this CVS. Their pharmacy can't timely fill orders or provide clarity on when they will get filled as they are that backlogged and this has been a consistent pattern.Nothing like watching your sick kiddo spend the night hacking away because they can't get their prescribed antibiotics after it was promised after lunch and then 40 minutes before close they still can't fill it and ask you to come back tomorrow. Want to talk to a pharmacist to ask that next day? Good luck trying - their phone system is designed to ensure you can never get them.I feel bad for the people who work here - it's clear there aren't enough pharmacists as the ones who are here have to constantly make excuses on call outs for why they can't handle the volume of scripts. It's been a consistent issue at this location so much that I'm done with CVS in general. I'll go down the road if it's urgent (where they are capable) or fill online for non-urgent ones online (where comparison shopping I save 75% on CVS rates). This location is no longer convenient which destroyed the only shred of value that remained.

I would give zero stars. Pharmacist is clueless. My Dr sent in an Rx and they wouldn't fill it because they said they needed more info. What did they need? How much to take and why.... My bottle clearly stated BOTH. I've never talked to someone so incompetent!!! Never again will I go here.

The staff never knows what’s going on or has the correct information. Every single month I call ahead to make sure my prescription is in stock and ready to be filled as I live an hour away, and every single month without fail they mess it up. I arrive and suddenly “there’s an issue with my prescription” and my doctor needs to call it in again. They never seem to know who gave me the go ahead, and always make me feel like it’s my fault.

Went into this store on Sunday! Staff greeted me when I entered the store, thanked me for shopping there, offered me the care pass! I needed help locating a particular vitamin and the store manager, Tara, quickly located it for me! Thank you for all your hard work!

Cvs is horrible. Especially essex store. Also not a good place to work , all they do is lie and use you. The store manger Tara is not management material at all. She makes false statements on people. She pawns all the work on to other people and is not a good manger at all. She is really lazy. The DM kylie also lies and does not help the employees when needed. They break laws all the time. They want people who will shut up and do what your told at cvs. It is a very hostile environment. Also the store manger (Tara) and the pharmacy manger ( Jessica) was going to kick someone out of the system and Tara Said she will just say she don't know what happend to that person in the system when she kicks them out. That's against the law as well. I could keep going and going but the right time will come when everything comes out! ?

I switched to this pharmacy in particular due to my insurance. For the most part I haven't had many issues however their policies are definitely tailored to inconvenience their customers.

For the non-pharmacy portion of the store, everything is great; however, the same cannot be said for my experiences with the pharmacy. The pharmacy manager, Jessica, was very rude when I called to inquire about a medication that I have struggled to get filled for several days now. It’s unfortunate that people can be so condescending.
