Had to wait 5 minutes at the cashier desk till someone came to check me out. Then afterwards, the cashier didn't give me a receipt. I own a cleaning business, so now I have to use it for personal use and can't deduct it. Wouldn't return it and ring it through again. They don't have records of it. Very frustrated and won't be going back again!

Unbelievable! This store got shut down awhile back because the isles were blocked with inventory. Today I went there at 1:30pm and they were closed for some reason, so after driving back home and burning more gas, I called this store and asked when they would be open, they replied 4:00pm. I asked why they were closed and they said because the isles were blocked. I drove back to the store at 4:20pm and they still were not open. This place is mismanaged big time! If you can't run the store correctly, get the heck out of my town!!

I went in to buy some totes since I am moving. All the totes were on the very top shelf and I couldn’t reach them I asked two employees at the cash register if they could help they barley paid attention to what I said and just said they would be there in a minute. Mind you there was no one in line being cashed out and I waited 10 minutes and they were just busy talking to each other and joking around and never came to help

I waited for someone to ring me out for more than 5 minutes. I was the only one in line for that time. There was a person stocking shelves at the far end of an aisle, with cardboard packaging from the truck at the opposing end of the aisle, blocking the view of the register. I walked around to see if I could find the person over the pile of cardboard, and she saw me, and kept working for a few more minutes, until a line formed. The music being played by the person stocking shelves was pretty loud too and was of poor taste- a song that literally had the following lyrics “kiss my country a**”. Wasn’t very impressed after that.

Friendly. Well-informed staff, decent prices given quality. But crowded shelves w/sometimes Same or Very Similar items offered in multiple places. TOP shelves only accessible w/o step ladder, unless you're over 6'2" Tall.

One of my favorite places in town. I go in for one or two things and come out with 2-3 big reusable bags full.

One entry/exit for parking lot of generous proportions. A wide array of stock with name brands at reasonable prices. Aisles are somewhat cramped, easier to walk around the ends than squeeze by. Clean enough, most things are relatively well organized, checkout is quick. Bring your own bags of course.

Dollar General,Main Street Castleton has been very kind in opening their store to accept donations of food ,at my request, for the CASTLETON POLICE DEPARTMENT.
The CASTLETON POLICE DEPARTMENT, I FOUND OUT RECENTLY,THAT THE OFFICERS WERE TAKING MONEY OUT OF THEIR OWN POCKETS TO SUPPLY FOOD BOXES TO THE ELDERLY AND THOSE IN NEED.
When I heard and confirmed that this was a fact. I thought this is just wrong.
So I immediately started my benefits to help them out.
They have families of their own,and they always go above and beyond to support our community.
I felt it was time for us to give back.
A HUGE THANK YOU TO LISA AND THE DOLLAR GENERAL STAFF, FOR YOUR HELP.
SINCERELY,
PAMELA TRAVERSE
