If I could give zero stars, I would. This is a terrible bank. I'm trying to settle a late relative's estate from clear across the country. TD Bank in Bennington, VT refused to even tell me if my late brother was a bank customer. In order to provide even the most innocuous of info, they tell me I need to either hire a lawyer to wrangle with them (at $250 an hour) or show up with the paperwork in person at the bank branch (at least $1000 in airfare, plus hotel and rental car). I don't want to do either of those things since I don't even know if my brother still had an active account there (he was a very poor record-keeper). I live in San Diego - there are no TD Banks on the West Coast. The bank made no attempt to be helpful whatsoever. Sweet, soft-spoken but useless and clueless staff. Just don't bank with these folks. Just don't. They don't know the meaning of customer service, and if your relative dies and you're the out of state administrator, they seem to be fixated on making your experience as onerous as possible.

Stopping in, I was unsure about my account, I had managed to accidentally open an extra checking account. Luckily Aaron was there to set things straight. Not only did he walk me through his process so I was well informed, he helped me swap to a checking account perfect for my lifestyle. He ordered me checks and helped me upgrade my credit card because I’ve moved up in my career since I got my first secured card. All in a painless 15 minutes. He was professional, well informed, and mindful of time. We need more Aarons!

As far as Banks go, this is the best I've ever been with. Staff are friendly and helpful and very understanding of any and all Issues. Recently called about an unexpected charge, which they explained clearly and it did make sense, but because they understood why I was surprised by it, they returned it. It was only $5, but the fact that they did return it, completely unprompted when they would have been perfectly justified in keeping it, really speaks to the service of this bank over others I've been with. Any issue I've had was less unique to TD but more inherent in banks in general

I opened a small account with them I never use. TD Bank never notified me that they started charging a monthly fee on my bank account despite opting in for account alerts. They had no problems telling me ASAP I owned them money after they overdrew my account due to their fees though. I've had issues with this company stealing my money before too. There are dozens of other banks that don't fraud their customers in the area.I know others have complained about the employees there. My issue is with the company, I haven't had a bad experience at the branch itself.

Yeah I have had no issues with the bank, other than the ATM being out of service, but that's not their fault, the tellers are always nice, it's usually not too busy.

Awful customer service. The bankers give conflicting advice, and then tell you they can't help you like the other one said. They are not at all helpful as operators will put you on hold after every single question to go ask a supervisor, and then just repeat to you verbatim what they say. If you have a question, you are on hold again. The hold service also has an incredibly annoying sound that they make you listen to repeatedly because the customer service reps continuously have to pause to ask someone else what to say to you. They also take an extremely long time to deposit checks, the longest I ever had to wait was seven days! When you call to ask for help getting your money, they put you on hold three times and then tell you to basically eff yourself. The worst banking service I have ever received.

Wish I could give 0 stars. Had multiple awful experiences at this specific branch. Was told I was being rude when they wouldn’t let me withdraw my own money or close my account while it was being flagged as fraudulent/hacked. Brought my debit card and photo ID, however since it wasn’t a federal ID they claimed it wasn’t sufficient and against their policy. It is not, I checked all over online. Melissa or we can just call her Karen, was horrible and refused to help me. She acted as if I was a criminal not a customer. The branches back home in Mass are awesome and so helpful, this one is pathetic and has terrible customer service. I am closing my account on Monday. This experience happened months ago and I have had similar experiences before. Instead of making a complaint I figured I’ll post it here. Be warned. Terrible.

All these one star reviewers are only looking at the minor details of the place. The staff are very friendly and very open about their accounts and policies. I recently opened an new checking account, and they were very honest and clear about each of the different accounts' options and requirements. Check 'em out if you don't believe me.

lobby practically empty but yet no tellers behind the counter were available to wait on customers. Poor set up...TD needs to do better here

Probably the friendliest staff I've ever interacted with in a bank setting.
