Absolutely abhorrent situation. Here's the TLDR: Living at the lofts was not worth the 2k in rent/utilities/parking fees I spend each month. -I'll start with my most recent gripe before addressing all the other issues: possibly most infuriating of anything on this list, I spent several days deep cleaning the apartment before I moved out. Then, I received a letter informing me that my security deposit was not only going to be kept, but also that I owed the Lofts extra (several hundred dollars), because my apartment was not clean and had trash all over. There wasn't a single speck of dust on the floor, much less trash. The pictures attached are my move-out pictures that show the apartment's sparkling clean appearance directly before they charged me for these so-called infractions. -The wifi in the apartments turned off regularly with no warning-- once or twice a month at least. Sometimes it's out for 20 minutes, sometimes it's out for several hours. In my last week, it was out for over 15 hours; I received NO correspondence about it ahead of time or for the first 10 hours of the outage. About 10 hours into the outage, they emailed residents and said the wifi would be back up in less than an hour. It stayed down for 5 more hours, and we received no additional updates. -The only elevator is out of service at least once every other month, usually more often. -FedEx isn't allowed to deliver to this location and won't notify you of this, so if you're not able to walk a mile down to the FedEx office before your 5-day pickup window closes, you just won't get the package. You will also receive no indication that the package is ready for pickup. -When I moved in, I reported that several pieces of furniture were broken, and that one of the drawers in my bathroom was unusably broken. After 5 months, my broken bathroom drawer finally did what I had feared would happen: it slid out and trapped me outside of the bathroom, so that I couldn't get in. I called maintenance, and the drawer was "fixed" by Lofts maintenance by being ripped out and never replaced. It was left that way all the way up until I moved out almost TWO YEARS LATER. Over the course of several months, they sent multiple maintenance men to my apartment who each said "to fix this, we'll need to rip out the entire bathroom counter/sink/cabinet/drawers". I kept telling them when I'll be out of town so they could fix the bathroom while I'm not using it, but they never did. Two straight years of this. Never fixed. -I asked if maintenance or I could remove one of the broken pieces of furniture, since it was taking up a lot of space for being barely functional. They told me no, I am required to keep all of my furniture. I asked if they could replace it, since many of the other apartments had recently received new furniture. They told me no again; they then replaced it just two weeks before I moved out (I lived there for 2 years). -The windows open but have no screens, so even opening them a tiny crack will let in tons of bugs. The apartment prevents residents from putting anything in the window, so you're not allowed to add your own screens. -In addition to the lack of screens, the windows are also not insulated and do not securely shut-- on windy days, you can feel the cold breeze throughout the apartment despite the shut window. -For almost 4 months the key fob on the disabled entrance of my building was so broken that I had to scan in 10-20 times before it would let me in. The Lofts knew about this, told us they knew, but took several months to actually fix it. (Before fixing it, they removed it entirely--it was this way for more than a week. This was the ONLY disability-accessible entrance from that side of the building.) -The mattress provided to me in my apartment was 15 years old and deteriorating. I notified the Lofts of this when I moved in. I never received a new one. -There was some mold in the shower when I moved in. This was never remedied or addressed in any way. -Every t

Super convenient, close to campus, but no counter space in kitchens…

I am super grateful for the customer service, especially Dominic. She or someone else always answers the phone during business hours. I have lived many places and there is so much involved in the process that it can be detrimental not to get questions answered quickly over the phone. Unfortunately it's common not to be able to reach someone easily. You won't have that problem here!

Called to gather some details before my son, who is a student at UVM, completed his application. Dominic patiently walked me through everything I needed to know. I can't speak to living there, but I was so pleased with this first impression!

I miss this apartment. All rules are laid out extremely clearly by management--everything from parking stickers, to submitting fix-its, to any other complaints. If you read the rules and follow them, there will be absolutely no issues. Perhaps those leaving poor reviews either can't read, or choose not to.Either way, my girlfriend and I lived here during our Senior year at UVM, and Rich made sure our experience here was comfortable and accommodating. From central air, to a nice kitchen, to Burlington Telecom high speed internet, all on top of an amazing view and close proximity to campus buses, it's truly the perfect place to live for a UVM student. While the initial price is steep, remember that utilities (minus electricity and a cheap internet fee) are included, which cannot be said for most places downtown that are poorly insulated and therefore require an outlandish heating cost. While desks are provided at The Lofts, I'd recommend a trip to Ikea to help maximize comfort and space (as shown by my workstation, pictured below). The fitness center is great when the UVM gym is closed, and playing pool, foosball and ping pong late at night are also solid perks.

Truly the best place I could have stayed for my last two years of college. The staff was all very nice and approachable. You are able to file repair requests and they usually get it done promptly. Rooms are spacious and come furnished which was really nice as a college student. Having rent be paid by room assures that each person is held responsible for their own part of rent. Having a gym, study area, and game area in the building was also really helpful. It can be a little expensive, but everything you get for that price makes it well worth it.

Overall a pretty nice place to stay, but I wish the furniture was better quality. Super easy to get things fixed if they broke by submitting a fix-it, but honestly way too expensive to rent there. You can find a better place downtown for much cheaper.

I wouldn't have lived anywhere else during my last 2 years at UVM! It's so well-kept, has it's own gym, and is conveniently located on campus with a shuttle stop right outside the door.

Living at the Lofts the last year has been a fun experience! The package system was great, and the amenities included were also good. Electricity bill wasn't too pricey. The rooms are huge, and come fully furnished, which made moving in and out a lot easier. Overall a good place to live.

Pros: Newer building, right on campus, AC/washer in units, solid appliances, clean and well managed. Noise has never been an issue from neighbors.Cons: Expensive, Wifi drops once or twice a week, even number rooms face the field which gets loud during games and massive floodlights every night till 11:00. Also, if you get a USPS package that doesn't fit in the mail locker you need to go downtown and pick it up, which can be frustrating.

It's great that the Lofts are fully furnished and includes a gym! Utilities have been pretty low, too which is an extra bonus. The visitor parking isn't the greatest. My friends and family should be able to visit without the fear of being towed. Otherwise, the Lofts are nice.

The lofts are conveniently located on Redstone campus and are only fifteen minute walk from campus, but if I don't want to walk the Redstone express shuttle stops at the building every ten minutes. The apartments come fully furnished was a plus side that my roommates and I loved seeing as that we were graduating and did not want to invest in any furniture. I also love being able to do laundry when ever I want since it is conveniently located right next to my room in our apartment. It's a little expensive but worth the investment!

Very conveniently located on campus without having the "dorm" feel. Laundry room was close, so was gym! Very neatly laid out place!

Hands down the apartment building with the best views of Lake Champlain in Burlington!
