Houndstooth
126 College St, BurlingtonDefinitely a must visit for anyone on vacation with their pup. Great selection of collars and leashes, among many other things. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the best part was a cheat sheet they gave us for pet friendly spots in the area, worth the visit for that alone!

Pet Sitting & Training
Play Dog Play Canine Care Center
668 Pine St, BurlingtonWe left our dogs, Zelda and Vincent, for 12 days recently when we went on a trip to Ireland. Periodically, PDP would send us reports with photos, and it made us feel so much better knowing they were having a good time with the other dogs there. These people know dogs, and they will tailor socializing and play to your dog's needs. The personalization is worth the expense. When we returned, our dogs were excited to see us and not traumatized by our absence. They were also appropriately exhausted!

Fetch the Leash! Dog Behavior & Training
85 Pearl St, BurlingtonI cannot say enough positive things about one Fetch the Leash! Trainer, Olivia, specifically. I signed DCI Luther up for an intense training package (3x per week + 30 min playtime before each training session). He was behind in learning manners and he was a 70 pound, overenthusiastic puppy! Olivia quickly became one of Luther’s favorite people in the WORLD. She so obviously has a passion for helping dogs to grow and has a sincere affection for them. Luther mastered ‘sit’ and ‘down’ quickly and started rapidly improving on the leash so I’m no longer being pulled down the street while walking and then dragged like a rag doll for a greeting when he sees another dog. The training focuses on positive reinforcement and it moves at the dog’s comfort level - mind you that means not always as quickly as fur parents may want. But when the pups learn something they REALLY learn it. The training isn’t just for the 4-legged. I was taught an alternative way to hold the leash and my arm/shoulder are grateful. The tips and tricks for distraction and redirection of behavior are INVALUABLE.We moved a lot when he was a puppy so he was under-socialized and it’s left him with a lot of quirks: He’s super sweet and naive and also a very aggressive greeter which is a bad combo since he doesn’t pick up on ‘leave me alone’ cues right away. He also has random fears: wheelchairs, strollers, flickering lights, etc. so there is still plenty to work through! We also still travel a lot but I’ll be getting Luther back into training with his bestie as soon as we get back to Burlington!

Onyx Tonics Specialty Coffee
126 College St, BurlingtonI never tried this place before so I was curious. It’s a laid back & relaxing spot to enjoy a great cappuccino. I love the plants in the window, it’s calming. Once I placed my order they brought my coffee to my table, great Service. The man was very knowledgeable about the coffee choices they had. They also had a couple of baked goods but I didn’t try any. I’ll definitely be back. Merci! ?
Parking: There is street parking, but I’m not sure if it’s metered or not because I was dropped off.

Cosmic Grind Coffee Shop
104 Church St, BurlingtonAwesome coffee hangout which supports local artists. This is a nice place to cool off with Church street seating and awesome staff. Amazing coffee selections to try include butter beer, cosmic delight, forbidden fruit, or super lemon haze. Or perhaps just an Italian soda to freshen up. The place has amazing wall art that cycles out monthly and great customer service.

The Venetian Soda Lounge
266 Pine St #122, BurlingtonI had the Flamingo Blanco and Speakeasy Negroni. My wife had the soda flight. All were fantastic drinks!! I think my favorite of the night was the Speakeasy Negroni, I thinks it’s also the best in VT! We will definitely make trivia night a routine event!
Parking: Parking is a paved lot in front of the building.
Kid-friendliness: We were there on a trivia night and it was a welcoming family evening, there were some families had kids and everyone had a good time.

Beach House VT
62 Institute Rd, BurlingtonVERY doggie and kid friendly. They gave our doggies treat cups. They were in heaven! We both got burgers, one with fries, one with a side salad. They were very good and generous. The fries were very good and I'm really picky about my fries. Usually don't get them (hence the side salad), but I ate almost half of the hubbies. We are camping at north beach. What a treat this was to just walk from the campsite with the dogs. Great view of the water too. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Thanks for the great experience Beach house.
