My husband and I called up on a weekend and were greeted by this really friendly and generous couple who showed us around the kilns and shop where they have all sorts of fountain sculptures, vases, mugs, and both hand made and printed mugs with historical figures. Great variety and wonderful folks!

I love the pieces here. We bought mugs with great colors that hold 20+ ounces of coffee (or any beverage). Everything is beautiful and you get a warm greeting. My husband and I stop here as we drive down to Bristol from Hinesburg.

We visited on an Open Studio weekend but he sells his work outside of those weekends as well. He has a unique pottery style reminiscent of ancient Asian pottery and will tell you all about his self built kilns and different styles of pottery and journeys to learn them. Really fascinating in our opinion. His wife does work weaving and has a small shop as well. If your lucky you'll be able to see the custom built kilns. His pottery is rather on the expensive end but it's obvious why once you get a chance to look at it.

Places like this are fewer and further between nowadays. The product is beautiful and the setting unique. Take a lovely drive down 116 and get a look at this place. Buy a bowl on the way out. Don't miss out on talking to the potter, he's great and generous with his company.

Anyone interested in pottery or weaving should stop in. The Compton's are wonderful, and the skill level is really high. Well worth a visit to a great place
