Cool place, great collection of antique, mid century and just a tad older items. No question the woman who owns this place and who seems to be always working there puts a great deal of thought as to what she puts in her shop. Ive been there twice and each time i bought something cool, different and pretty much one of a kind.....which is my style and im not a huge shopper. Reasonably priced for what the items, are but mind you higher end items with a good value. The woman there is very nice in a real down to earth way. If you're out strolling around downtown Brattleboro, hit this little shop.

Lovely still, we found a perfect little bedside table, tried bargaining but she knew the value and stayed firm. So my question really is, to others who didn't give a stellar review, what exactly was the problem? I live in Boston, and for the prices I see in her store she could get at least 30 - 50% more for the pieces if she sold in Cambridge or Boston. Some of the prices are so low I was wondering if she didn't need money or something. Truly. Sidenote, I'm a s***** for owners of establishment who don't simply tow the line, they actually know what they have and care about things being done well. Haven't had any bad experiences, only when I should've bought but waited too long! Will be back (I always go here when I'm in VT).

This shop always is worth a visit but is chock full right now with exceptionally nice items. If you are into mid century modern there are many gems in excellent condition and very reasonable as well. There are also bargains to be had regardless of your interest with some great weird and wonderful gift ideas.

Three times I've walked into this store to immediately feel unwelcome. Prices are high enough for me to be profiled as someone who might not be able to afford to make purchases. I've had friends express the same sentiment. Terrible experience to say the least.

What a fantastic selection of eclectic home furnishings! Prices pretty reasonable too. Owner was willing to hold my large purchases for a couple of weeks until I moved into my new place. Only criticism is the hours of operation could be expanded.

Linda, the owner of Distinctive Decor, has a terrific eye. She finds unusual, interesting pieces. I particularly like her upcycled and industrial finds. She delivers to the NY and Boston regions. We've twice found really special pieces at her shop, and arranged delivery, which all went very smoothly.
