“What a great place! It truly earns 5 stars and more. Everything inside and out was freshly renovated or otherwise well maintained. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The lake view is pretty. The complimentary grab-and-go breakfast satisfies and is of good quality food. Employees were outside cleaning and shoveling snow, maintaining the blaze in the fire pit, or working hard in some other way whenever we happened to be outside. The gracefulness of the staff is what set this lodge above others for me. We reserved 2 semi-lakeview rooms and, when we arrived, the receptionist told us they had upgraded us to the more expensive lakeview rooms just because they hadn't been reserved. A nice surprise! The rooms were on the 2nd floor. One of our group is quite sensitive and didn't want to climb stairs, so we asked for one 1st floor room and they changed the room without hesitation. A couple hours later, she didn't like the cold floor (the room heat worked great, but it was December 31st and 20 degrees outside with a stiff wind coming off the frozen lake, so one could expect the floors on the 1st storey to be cooler than the floors on the 2nd storey in a building with no basement). The receptionist was very kind to change the room again to a 2nd floor room, though it meant they'd have to clean the 1st floor room before renting it out. A few minutes later housekeeping arrived with a space heater for her room just to make it maximally hot. Really very kind! The lodge gave me the impression of a business concerned primarily with pleasing customers rather than making as much money as possible whenever possible, which felt great!!! I recommend extra highly! I look forward to returning in a warm season to take advantage of the boats and lake.”

“We grow Marquette in MA and enjoy touring other vineyards that grow it. No two are ever alike. Dennis tends 6000 vines and a homey winery operation. The tasting room is literally a part of his house. He’s very friendly and knowledgeable and happy to pour you samples. I really like that he bulk ages his wines for 5 years or so before bottling. It really makes them distinctive. Nice views too.”
