Very expensive (baked goods are $30 for a pumpkin pie. $7 for. Two 2” cookies). Service in the deli is super slow. I don’t know if this a some kind of training program for employees in the deli. No other customers and six employees in the deli it took 27 min to slice 3 lbs of cold cuts. Come at noon for a nitemare, 6-8 people online and one harried cashier. This is not for the neighborhood. This is for day trippers or tourists who may find the slow pace charming. Sandwiches are good, baked goods are average but too expensive for being “meh” atbest. No accommodations for handicapped or disabled customers. Van parked across entrance prohibiting entrance. Just let this vanity project go to tourists. I recommend other local places with much better customer service skills, a sense of timeliness, charging fair prices and considerate of the disabled or handicapped. Not here! In a Bennington Blotter poll last eeek for best place to have lunch in Bennington over 63 responses were given. Just one vote for Community Market. Locals know best.

I have now had three visits to this establishment. The first time we decided to stop and look around. When we left, we had several boxes of baked goods, two sandwiches, and two bowls of soup. To all of which were absolutely fantastic. This location puts a spin on bringing in cultural favorites from other parts of the world. The second time we stopped, and we had a purpose. We were looking for some yogurt that we had picked up and more of the baked goods in this time we had found some new flavors. Yesterday was the third time we had stopped. On today's visit they had just started doing a breakfast buffet. And we were being told that they were also thinking of doing a hot meal later on focusing on different cultures. The breakfast that we were served, had a cinnamon swirl French toast, Shuka, Bacon and then just regular scrambled eggs. The cost was $12.50 for all you could eat. We had the most filling breakfast me and my friend. We are looking forward to the other offerings that they are planning on doing. And we're also looking forward to the opening of the bakery case that they are just installing. If you're passing through Bennington or if you live locally. Stop because if you're going by and you haven't gone in you're missing some.

Your staff should be wearing hair nets / have the hair pulled up for hygienic reasons while preparing food it is a health standard that should be followed.

I hope it works out for them, but they'll have to rely on mainly tourist dollars since prices on groceries are generally 2-3x what they cost at competing stores, when items are actually in stock. $11.50 for a gallon of apple cider is absolutely crazy...

I only live 20 minutes away and I've been meaning to go here for months. I had the most delicious Vietnamese lemongrass bánh mì sandwich which came with a pickle and chips. All for 12 bucks! That's pretty good. There are also nice grocery items, so I grabbed a bottle of red wine to test out to see if I want to serve it at my Thanksgiving feast. A great, friendly place to stop in if you're in the area.

Not much food sold in their stores but there is a lot of indoor seating space. Prices on food that they do sell is high but since they're basically a food co-op the prices are on par w/what I expected. Overall very clean & orderlyb& the staff is helpful. Pre-cooked food is also available & EBT cards are accepted here. Within walking distance from downtown, bicycle racks are available across the street at Dollar General, and it's also within a half block of the closest bus stop which is served by the Green Mountain Express' Blue Line.

A delightful addition to downtown Bennington. Warm and friendly local folks will make you feel right at home. A non-profit with very healthy fresh produce from nearby farms including some of the best organic growers. Handmade delicacies and even some unusual items: so look around at all the shelves. Not just a grocery -- rates as a must stop for visitors.
