I've been going to this Vasa for a little over a year with my husbands guest pass and they have a decent selection of machines but there is alwaysss cleaning towels left in the cup holders of the treadmills and some treadmills have functions that don't work or they sound like the belt is messed up. Cleaning rag trashes are almost always overfilled so I can understand but I also don't want to touch someone else's cleaning rag even if it was just to wipe down the machine. The employees don't really do anything? They sit at the front most of the time talking or on their phones. They turn off the tv's by the treadmills early, 30+ minutes before closing while a lot of people are still on the cardio deck. I don't know about other people but I enjoy the tvs while I run even when I'm listening to my own music. I feel they could be reracking weights instead during that time because it takes less than 30 seconds to turn tvs off. Majority of the fitness classes are scheduled mid morning which doesn't work with a lot of people's schedules. Overall I prefer this gym over others but it could use some improvement just with the cleanliness.

I joined Vasa literally 3 weeks ago changing from another gym and it's been a huge disappointment!!! I made the change with the sole purpose of using the pool and attending water aerobics! Vasa keeps the pools very cold and the West valley location is unbearable! I hoped to attened classes in the evenings and on Saturday due to my work schedule and only one location offers evening classes and the Saturday morning class at West Valley could not even be held due to the freezing temperature of the pool. I checked the app and the class was being held so I chose this location over Riverton and could not work out! Very frustrating! Especially when I chose Vasa over my old gym for the pool / water aerobic feature! Not a happy memeber!

The personal trainer Sean was very understanding and charismatic, I wasn't pushed into any deals or programs I wasn't interested in and he was all over a really good human being. I'm sure the rest of the staff has wonderful qualities as well! I'm excited to get to know everyone based off of my consultation. The energy that was given was one of genuine joy and passion to help others, I'm an anxious person and I still found a sense of safety in the interaction. 5 stars for sure the gym itself is well maintained, especially because not everyone treats the gym as a gift lol

I complained about the music being inappropriate so it changed but to just as bad. Horrible rhythm. I guess I need to go to better public fitness centers.

This gym has its share of small issues. I’ve been coming here for a year or so. My big problem is the way they deal with lost and found items. They do not document what’s found or when. I had left my gym bag in the locker on accident (long story) and I came back to retrieve it. They didn’t have it written down in their book about what was TAKEN out of the locker when they cut my lock off so there’s no way to know what was “mine” other than my descritption. So I go get my actual gym bag and I realize some of my stuff (toiletry bag and Nike sandals) isn’t there. So I come back sometime later asking about my shoes which I lost at the exact same time as my gym bag. The employee doesn’t find my shoes but somehow has my toiletry bag. It was about to be DONATED which is understandable but if my toiletries bag was there then where are my Nike sandals? The employees definitely get their pickings form the donation pile before sending it off is my guess. Thanks Vasa for stealing my property and not taking good care of it :)

I called in on 8/11 about details with canceling my membership I was told over the phone I wouldn’t be charged and very vague info about it by a female rep in which I then asked for a manager. The manager told me that since I started my membership on 2/26/23 that If I cancelled through the app on 8/26/23 which is the 6 month mark I would not be charged. I am writing this today on 8/26/23 and that is not true. It is showing me that I will be charged $25.00 even though today marks 6 months. I called today to get answers and was told that I would have to try to cancel the 29th a day after the payment was charged. I told the rep on the app it says you have to give a 30 day’s notice and that Is what I’m doing and what I was told by the manager I spoke with on 8/11.I told the rep that I need a manager again as I feel they’re not being honest and trying to play games with me as I keep getting different answers. He then told me to call back on Monday to get a manager and speak with them further about this issue as there is no manager available all day long. This is ridiculous and should be an easy simple process to do on the app. I should not have to keep calling in to get this done and not be charged when I did it correctly. As a company if you are honorable about your word and what you’re doing, this should be a call back to me with the issue fixed and make this right. I shouldn’t have to play these games with you.

It’s super crowded from 3pm to around 7pm so if you work a regular day shift the best time to go is 8 or 8:30 since it closes at 10pm. They also sneak a lot of fees in too. The basic is around $10 a month plus an extra $50 you pay upfront and annually that they couldn’t include in the monthly price for some reason. If you end up having to cancel your membership within 6 months for some unexpected reason it’s an additional $25 cancelation fee. So within the first 6 months on their basic membership, you could be potentially paying up to $125 (plus taxes) if you have to cancel which all adds up to $25 a month for the 5 months you used their gym. Just wanted to put all that out there. I never interacted with the employees much. I’d say they’re pretty chill though.Edit: I just looked back and I didn’t account for the $99 enrollment fee so it would potentially cost $35 a month for their basic membership for 5 months. And thanks for the reply Vasa. I just wanted to make your pricing and fees more transparent by giving everyone a more complete summed up total upfront.

Even after they told me to my face that my membership was frozen, they kept trying to bill an inactive card & ended up sticking me with a huge bill of trainings I never got to attend. Refused to honor the unused sessions & demanded I pay them $800 for a dozen sessions I never attended. Didn’t feel like fighting it in collections so I just paid & left the gym. It was their own mistake but they don’t care.

The gym is good. I'm just here to complain about the music. This vasa is always playing terrible emo/pop punk. other than that, it's a chill gym. Humble vibes, no pretention. Just enough equipment. But seriously every time I go the same exact emo playlist is blasting. I usually go during the day or in the morning and it's always the same. I asked about it at the desk and was told it's some vasa company playlist and not even the manager has the power to change the music... Whoever is responsible for this decision, please change the music, at least give us some variety. Not everyone wants to feel like they're in a 2007 high schooler's bedroom when they're at the gym.

Staff is great, the facility is great…the members need to rack their weights though. The Olympic folks tend to keep their area organized; the regular floor has dumbbells and plates all over the place.

Really nice facility, clean, usually a lot of people but you can find room to do your thing. The instructors are great and I don’t feel judged.

wasn’t pleased with how they handled renewing the floors at 5am and left it like that!! This gym isn’t 24 hours, why didn’t they do this the night before? There wasn’t a notice in our emails either. At the crack of dawn this gym was packed!!On top of that, the bathrooms are horrible and need a lot of deep cleaning done to it. It’s never maintained!! How is it at 5am there’s no toilet paper? when something is broken, there’s never a quick reaction to it. The equipment, OLD. Once it’s broken, it takes months to be fixed. West valley gets the old hand me downs from West Jordan and the surrounding cities around WJ. Fix that!

I love the environment and atmosphere it has. I love the amount of equipment available but the only down side is that it's so packed with people on the time frames I'm able to go so it makes it feel like there's nothing available when you have specific workout planned out.
