Went to pick up a necessary prescription and a sign was posted that they are closed due to lack of help. How much money do they take in with prescription?!? It is their money maker and they don't care about the health of their customers. Pathetic!!!!!

My family of 4 and I have lived in Syracuse for two years and have always used this pharmacy without any issues until 3 months ago. The male pharmacist that use to work there was so friendly and very helpful, sadly he left and he was replaced. I’ve had to deal with two women in the last 3 months who have been absolutely unprofessional and rude. The younger one with longer black hair is by far the worst. Both my kids were prescribed Iron. Their dosages are not ones to be found over the counter per their Dr. My oldest can swallow pills and we’ve had no issues getting her prescriptions. But my son is younger and can not swallow pills and needs a liquid form. I filled his prescription and after a week of it not being filled I went to the pharmacist and asked what was going on. In her broken English she told me she canceled the prescription as we can go out and find it over the counter! She never notified us of her decision! I went and looked out on the shelves in Walgreens and went back to her and told her there was no iron on the shelves and she said very rudely so go to Target, Walmart or another store I’m busy! We went to said other stores and alas could not find liquid iron. We even asked other store’s pharmacists and they all said you can’t get that prescription over the counter. I went back to Walgreens the next day to tell the pharmacist she needed to fill the prescription! She then said your son he can take Enfamil with Iron! Enfamil with iron is baby formula!!! My son is 11 and I can tell you now he would not drink that and the amount of formula he would need to drink every day to get the dosage the Dr prescribed would be a lot! She said then you move to Ogden where kids have iron issues and you can get the prescription you’re looking for. Kids here in Syracuse don’t have iron issues it’s a poor family issue! I immediately asked for a manager and the female store assistant manager came over, super nice as always, and informed me unfortunately she could not do anything as she is not a manager for the pharmacy only the store and at the time the pharmacy did not have a manager that could hear my complaint, but I should write a review as so many people have been complaining about this pharmacist. I told the pharmacist she was to fill the prescription and us living in Ogden or Syracuse should have absolutely no bearing on if she should fill it or not! She put it back into the system and it took another 12 days for it to finally come in due to it being hard to get through the supplier was her reasoning. The next month when I refilled it the same pharmacist did the same thing!!!! Told me again you go to Ogden where there’s iron issues. I told her no you fill it today and then kindly suggested she order extra for back up as this is something my son needs to take for another month before they test his levels again. I told her iron issues can happen to anyone. Poor or rich. Young or old. Any color of the rainbow. Her comment about not filling it because Syracuse doesn’t have an iron issue is like saying Syracuse doesn’t have an HIV issue. HIV can happen to anyone no matter the location! You have a legal prescription it is your job to fill the prescription! Not take it upon yourself to cancel it because we’re not located in specific area that has no issues! She going to screw up bad, if she hasn’t yet. Like I said the male pharmacist was fantastic and the techs have always been great. Get rid of these new pharmacists!!!

This Walgreens pharmacy has become such a joke. I’ve been yelled at by a pharmacy tech over the phone for calling (this was the only time I had ever called this pharmacy), they left my grandma on hold for over an hour and a half until they closed and never picked back up, they’ve screwed up so many prescriptions leading my family to have to go without antibiotics, diabetes medication, and other essentials. They’re constantly closing at weird hours before they’re scheduled to actually close, and they’re grossly understaffed. Management here needs to do better.

Could I just say thank you for taking the time to help a customer? My son had fallen at a playground and needed bandages until urgent care was open the next morning. After going to 2 other locations of different competitor stores and getting turned away, I arrived within minutes of their closing time. At first I was about to be turned away by one of their junior clerks, but the manager came over and told us to come in. She then directed us to the bandage isle and helped us to locate steri strips. They stayed just a little late to help us out. Thank you for the consideration and the service. For you it was just maybe 10 minutes, but for us it mattered. PS when we went to urgent care the next day, the doctor told us that we had done a good job taking care of our son in how we had bandaged him up. Thank you for your help.

I will be switching pharmacies. The last few months this location has gone down hill. The employees at the pharmacy counter are rude and act like the customers are an inconvenience. The last 3 times I've picked up a prescription here they have been so rude.

Holy mackerel! Ever try to call one of these folks to ask them a question. No way!! Cheap sons of guns. Don’t wanna pay a person to even talk on the phone, don’t care what the customer wants to know, just want their money. Listen to all kinds of rigmarole, try and get your question answered. Can’t believe they’re doing this to the elderly! And we are their customer base! Don’t serve the elderly. Nice business model Walgreens! “We’re going for the young crowd”. Makes no sense whatsoever. Screw it, I’ll go somewhere else!

I’ve been going to this pharmacy for more than 10 years. They were so awesome, and about 6 months ago, the staff I loved left and who took over is just awful. There were problems with them getting the prescription and forgetting to fill it, or being out of stock but not mentioning that before telling me it was ready. I’d be ok with that if the staff wasn’t so RUDE. I called the pharmacist yesterday who said ‘Well I’m trying to help other people but I guess I can look that up.’ Followed by many reasons he couldn’t transfer my prescription even though they transferred 3 last month because I’m transferring to another pharmacy. My drs office had to call them for a preauth and said they’d never been treated so badly by a pharmacy. They’re awful. Do not waste your time here

Encountered the most rude woman working here. Not only do they not have stuff ready in time. Don’t inform you they are putting a prescription back but gives me attitude about their screwup. I’ve used this pharmacy for years and won’t ever go back again with the addition of this entitled joke who shouldn’t even be allowed to work with any public.

This is probably the worst pharmacy ever. All the staff look miserable and seem very unhappy. They always have issues trying to figure out insurance. Instead of problem solving they just give up and don’t seem to know what to do. Maybe they aren’t trained very well? Idk. Maybe they are overworked? Idk. But it makes me nervous that they don’t seem to care to do their best.

I have filled my prescriptions at Walgreens for 20 years, but no more. Refills on all my medications were sent in by my doctor today at 12:30 p.m. When I drove thru to pick them up around 5:30, I was told they weren’t ready and to try back in an hour. I pulled into the drive thru and was the 3rd car in line at 6:47. Two cars came in behind me shortly after. As the car ahead of me pulled away, the “no pharmacist on duty” sign was put up. It was 7:02. No one behind the sign said a word, until I started to call for someone. I was told by a male voice that I couldn’t pick up prescriptions because they closed at 7:00. When I pointed out that I had been patiently waiting well before then and that there were still two cars in line, he told me that “Walgreens did not have the money to pay a pharmacist to work after 7:00.” Really. Really? When I expressed my unhappiness, he told me to take it up with management. For now, I’ll start with Google and transfer my family’s meds to another pharmacy tomorrow.

I talked to a female pharmacist and she was very unprofessional and rude. I had been going to them for years for same prescriptions but she basically told me we will not take your good RX coupon so if you want your needed meds prescribed by your doctor you will have to pay full price of do a preauth with your insurance. What has our world come to when we do not treat each other with compassion and empathy we are just so heartless. This has made me sick I will never again step foot in this Walgreens for sure or any Walgreens because of her unprofessionalism. I hope she never treats anyone else with such disregard!!

I use to absolutely love the pharmacy here. They used to take time and talk to you as a person. I talked to a female pharmacist and she was very unprofessional and rude. Tonight 3/5/2024 I called to try and fix an issue with my insurance and was in hold for over an hour. My RX's are now going to Walmart.

My opinion I think it’s a good store to get a quick drink or snack because it’s calm at times and helps for-fill my needs.
