This is the worst rental company I’ve ever rented a car from. We are on holiday and during heavy weather a big rock fell from the mountain onto our window while we were driving thru Oak Creek Canyon just after Sedona.
We have called Hertz multiple times but have gotten zero support since. The last time we called we got send to this location (we have been driving for a week with this frontscreen right now). They didn’t know if a repair or replacement was possible because they don’t contact other shops, which I find very strange. On the door it says 8:00 am - 16:00 pm. When we got here there was no one to be found. Also when we called them, they refused to come to the shop. They told us to just leave because they couldn’t help us. We are actually driving with a damaged car and they haven’t even suggested to take a look at it. We have suggested to send photo’s because I can imaging people don’t get the severeness of the situation just by hearing from it, but we couldn’t send any because ‘they can’t receive them’. For a company this big I would imagine that customer support is the most important factor. Please for your own and your family’s safety, don’t rent a car at Hertz, it’s just not worth it.

I came in with a problem with a Hertz rental car. The employee was rude and didn't take time to address the problem. The blame was placed directly on us as tenants and after about 30 seconds we were directed to Salt Lake City or Las Vegas (both about a 2 hour drive away).

Jonathan helped us out in renting a car for over a week. He was very professional and personable. He went above and beyond to make us happy.

These guys are crooks. I returned my vehicle after hours. Per their instructions I filled out the pamphlet, dropped it off with the keys in their drop box, and called and left a voice mail with the time that I had dropped it off (Saturday morning when my rental was due). They called me on Monday to tell me that they didn’t see me on their security cameras and that they needed to know what time I actually dropped the car off and not just the time I said that I dropped it off or else they were going to charge me for the whole weekend. After arguing about this for a while, they finally dropped it but proceeded to charge me an excessive cleaning fee. I had taken pictures of the car right when I dropped it off just in case and it was in great shape (I literally vacuumed it out when I gassed up before dropping it off). I then got to wait on hold for an hour to talk to customer service to try to contest the charge. They told me to send an email with the images and I have been waiting several weeks to hear a response on the issue. Attached are the images of my “excessively dirty” car that I took right before I returned the vehicle.

I recently had a Family emergency that required I immediately rent a car for a trip out of state. I checked online for all the local St George rental car companies and no one had anything available due to Spring Break just starting. I called many rental companies who confirmed there were no cars anywhere in St George or the Airport that weren't already spoken for. When I called the Hertz location on Bluff St. I was told the same thing. However, the difference was that the young Man who I was speaking with offered to call me back if, for any reason, a car did become available. No other Rental agency had offered that service. Hours later while trying to find flight, I received a follow up call from Hertz saying that a car had just been turned in early and it was mine if I wanted it.
Twenty minutes later I was on my way in a clean car with a full tank.
Thank you Hertz on Bluff Street for going beyond expectations to help with my situation. Your agency will always be the first call I make for my future rental needs.
UPDATE: 18 Sept 2020
I have rented an additional 7 times from the Hertz Bluff Street location since leaving my last review. All but one of those rentals have been like clockwork; make a reservation, arrive to pick up my rental, return my rental at the end of the term, and I'm on my way. This last rental was different.
I picked up a clean car ready for my reserved week of use and within a couple hours I realized my back was incompatible with the seat. After having major back surgery I'm used to a certain amount of discomfort but this was pain past that. The Seat wasn't faulty, just my back wasn't a good fit with particular car. I contacted Jonathon at the Bluff Street location and within an hour I was able to swap cars for something more compatible with my back. But that's not all.
6 days into the 7 day rental I realized I was going to need the car for an additional several days beyond the initial rental term. I was fortunate in that Hertz was able to accommodate my last moment request and keep me in the car for an additional week.
When I read some of the reviews where people personally criticize Jonathon I wonder if we are dealing with the same individual. Then again, sometimes I've been waiting for my turn to check out a car while the Bluff Street Staff are patiently trying to explain to a Customer with an expired license why they can't rent them a car. You would think by the reaction of the Customer that somehow Hertz was responsible for the Customer not having taken the time to update their license! Then sometime later that same person slams Hertz in a online review for not being "reasonable" and very rude and they will "never give them their business again". Never mentioning that they did not have a valid license when they tried to rent the car! I suggest that when reading any ultra negative review try to think about what is not being said by the reviewer during their one sided rant. It is a cliché since forever but there really are two side to every story.

Dozens of rentals the last few years and the Hertz location in Saint George, UT on Bluff Street continues to provide consistently top shelf service. Spring in Saint George is a busy time for sporting events. If you are planning to visit Saint George, it is never too early to book your car rental. Between the Airport and in town Bluff St locations, the variety of rental cars and SUVs Hertz offers means they always have a vehicle that meets my needs.

Probably one of the worst customer service person I ever ran into. Not only unprofessional but just a piece of garbage for the way he treats customers.

No surprise this place has a 2.4 rating, wish I would have seen it before I booked it.I reserved a Hertz rental car via Expedia and upon my arrival, I was chastised for being early (1 hour 15 mins). I was then told we were getting an electric vehicle that was not ready. However, gas vehicles were ready for an extra charge. I looked up our reservation via Expedia and nowhere was there any mention of the possibility of an electric vehicle. I showed the Hertz representative the fine print of my Expedia receipt to which he responded, “I don’t care about what Expedia says, we don’t work with them—you do.” After I picked up my jaw off the floor, I asked him how that’s possible when I made the reservation through Expedia? His level of rudeness continued to climb from there. I asked him his name and to speak with his manager and he refused to give me any identifying information nor would he identify his manager. Since he refused to identify himself, I felt it was necessary to start taking photographic evidence. Before I could get my camera ready, he bolted and left us alone at the rental counter (see attached pic). He came back 5 minutes later and he put a phone in my face. After speaking to his “manager” it was evident that the “manager” was clearly related to this guy—he defended this nepo-baby like only a father could. Never in all my 44 years have I been immediately dismissed and subsequently treated so poorly as a customer. Expedia sided with me and refunded my reservation but needless to say, I will never rent from Hertz again.

Have to give a shoutout to this location as the BEST service I’ve received from any Hertz location over the past few years. I use Hertz frequently for business and personal trips. In the past few years I’ve used them in 5 different states multiple times and this location has given EXCELLENT service every time I use them. Great job to their staff! Appreciate the customer experience you provide!

- Website says to call the local number for most vehicles in question- Calling the number has no human, just an awful robot menu that keeps telling you to go to the website.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Hands down. Front desk workers was a complete prick, didn’t even remotely care about helping me with my already purchased corporate reservation. Ended up walking up without my vehicle.

I rent cars regularly from Hertz and the team at Saint George Airport are fantastic!BEWARE of fraudulent charges from the guy at the Bluff St. Store.I went to get the rental last week and he told me he did NOT have the “electric vehicle” I had reserved:1. I did NOT reserve an electric vehicle.2. He up-charged me for NOT having the car he said I reserved….I could not argue with him because I needed the car. Normally, if you rent a vehicle and they do not have it, they will upgrade you at no charge as it was their error. When I returned the vehicle, nobody was at the store even though it was business hours. Thankfully I checked my card as they again up-charged me for a “pet” fee. I DID NOT have a pet in the vehicle. When I called Hertz, the lady said I may have had pet hair on my clothing…WHAT?! That is a scam.At the end of the day, Hertz corrected these things and I appreciate that but I am concerned the team at Bluff St. takes advantage of people that may not even know.Rent from the Hertz STG airport, they are great.

1 star is generous. Should have read Hertz reviews prior to using them. I will NEVER use Hertz again!!! TERRIBLE experience. Hertz manager told us to get lost and he didn't need our business, when he was called out on a billing error. I will dispute the charge with my credit card company. HIGHLY doubtful that Hertz will do anything to change and that this feedback will fall on deaf ears.

Just don't go here. Hertz should close this location and then replace it.
