Sometimes it's just as good to be told what you don't need as it is to be told what you do need. We reached out to James for a second opinion after being told by another mechanic that we needed an entire new RV refrigerator...~$5K all-in. In a short amount to time James determined that our fridge cooling unit was not bad as diagnosed by the first mechanic. He felt certain that several factors were contributing to our fridge not getting as cold as it should. One, it was very hot in UT the week we were there simply causing our fridge to work harder than normal. Two, our thermomister was not in the optimal position within our refrigerator. Took him about 15 seconds to correct. Finally, he suggested we add a second 12V cooling fan to help dissipate the warm air. He was quite certain that our fridge/freezer would work fine as we continued our trip North into cooler temps. None of these points were made by the first mechanic who literally spent three minutes determining that we needed a completely new fridge.Turns out James was completely right. Our fridge is working perfect even without the second fan. James was professional, competent and very friendly. And he is a veteran for those of us who like supporting veteran-owned businesses. I would recommend him to any fellow RVer transiting through or home-based in UT and in-need to help. And of course to any RVer home-based in UT.

I was stuck with my leveling jacks down on the North Rim. 5 hours from Hurricane. James returned my call on a Saturday (normally closed) and walked me through the whole troubleshooting procedure over the phone. He got the error to clear and the jacks to retract. He saved the rest of our trip! He then sent me the manual for my exact leveling device so that I could put it in my files for later. Outstanding service and commitment to his customers.

Was in St. George for a family boating trip. Coming from New Mexico, I was having some troubles with one of my wheels overheating on my boat trailer. I found Drake’s Garage online and gave him a call. I cannot highly recommend him enough!Before leaving town, Drake’s was able to give my entire trailer an overhaul and got everything back in working order. He adjusted the brakes properly and replaced all my seals, races, and bearings for each wheel. He does great work and is honest. I wish I could find a place like his in my hometown!Thanks Drake’s! James did a spectacular job, he came out to where we’re camping after another business had come out and told us we needed a whole new fridge in our rv. James came out and replace one part and the fridge was working again. Great job! Highly recommend ?? Cheers

You will not go wrong choosing Drakes Garage for your repairs! This guy knows his stuff! He's quick and super knowledgeable about rvs! He taught me so much while he was fixing all my issues. He's very professional and you can tell he doesn't mind hard work! I couldn't be more thankful that I found him and chose to make that first call. We are full time RVers. We've been on the road since November 21st, 2020. We sold our home and bought our rig in San Diego. We've traveled in California, Arizona, Utah, Nevada and Colorado. We can do some basics, and just can't be bothered with being fully displaced from our rig to take it to the dealership in San Diego. We found James when we were in an awesome campground in Hurricane Utah. We met a guy there that says he "ONLY has James work on his rig". We feel the same. We had James do some 'nice to have stuff' and we had him work on troubleshooting some warranty work. He did an excellent and thorough job on all of it. James is considerate, smart, thorough, thoughtful, trustworthy, particular, careful and skilled in his craft. We've referred a few of our fellow girlfriend RVers to him. We are specifically re-routing ourselves back through Utah so he can work on a few things for us on our rig. We roll in a 2021 Grand Design 399TH 44' Toyhauler. We have never driven in or stayed in anything like this before doing this... We totally feel like James keeps us safe by letting us know what's up with our rig, what needs to be fixed and what needs to be addressed. I took my camping trailer in to get some much needed maintenance. James was awesome to work with. His knowledge of all aspects of trailer maintenance and repair was very good. James's detail to his work was amazing. He goes the extra mile to make sure everything is cleaned and working properly. He explained everything to me that needed to be done at this time and things that could wait. I recommend James for any of your trailer repairs.

DON'T HESITATE TO CALL JAMES at Drake's Garage if you have ANY ISSUES with your RV!!! He's one of the good ones!!! You can trust James!!! He's professional, knowledgeable, capable, affordable, and has excellent customer service!!! You can be assured that he will always get back to you. We have a 2008 Class A motor home. Last year, we stayed at Willowwind RV Park in Hurricane for 5 months and seemed to have one issue after another. James was able to successfully fix all of them: replacing awning connector; fixing and servicing ACs, rebuilding macerator; restringing shades; replacing fluorescents with LEDs and the BIG ONE...replacing the cooling unit on our refrigerator!!! Dometic no longer makes our refrigerator and our coach door is too narrow for a newer model. SO...James went above and beyond searching for the cooling unit. He finally found one in CA. The first one was faulty, so he replaced it yet again. We were so impressed watching him do that!! The complexity of disassembling and reassembling the refrigerator was impressive. I am happy to say our refrigerator is still working a year later!!! CALL JAMES!!!...you won't regret it!!! We are so pleased that he is still in the area.
