This is the fifth local auto repair shop in the Springville/Provo area that I've reviewed and the third to get 5 stars from me. It is, perhaps, the best of the bunch. Bodie bought the place not many years ago from the previous owner (who was not a nice fellow) and as a result I had tended to overlook his establishment among my options for auto repair in town.
How wrong I was. Recently I needed some good help so I asked around among my trusted, experienced friends and they were of one voice... go to Bodies, he's fairly-priced, very good and very honest.
So I made an appointment... the only problem was that his first available one was nearly a MONTH away. Ah well, such is the price of popularity, especially when you're underpriced.
You will be struck by the Bodie difference the second you walk in his shop. It's in a vintage building in downtown Springville, which has been an auto shop for as long as I can recall. The current building was erected in the 1940's and it is such a pretty, prototypical "garage" that's it has been used in a number of TV shows and commercials. Full of light, spacious, and super-clean it is exactly what you might imagine an ideal auto mechanic's shop to be in your best "Leave it to Beaver" nostalgic dream.
The same with Bodie. Straight out of the 1950's with a direct, honest demeanor, a clean uniform and the ability to explain automotive stuff to the layman, Bodie is exactly the sort of mechanic to whom I would send a single woman in need of car repairs. Bodie will put them at ease, explain the problem and not cheat them.
Now, regarding my appointment. I sent my car in for three simple things that I already knew were wrong. I also knew approximately what they should cost to fix. Bodie quickly identified and confirmed the issues that I suspected and quoted me a price that was slightly under what I expected. He explained that one of the parts would take a day to arrive and when it did, the invoice was what was promised and all my replaced parts were sitting on the front countertop for me to inspect or take away. This is the only shop I've ever been in that has done this in such an open and direct way.
In fact, the whole atmosphere of Bodie's is one of openness. It screams "no secrets", fairness, cleanliness, and peace.
There is only one problem with Bodie's... you can't get in.
The secret's out, people in Springville know that Bodie's is the place to go and as one friend said today, "Ya, the minute you suspect something may be starting to go wrong with your car, you make an appointment and by the time it rolls around your thing has broken and you don't have to wait long to get it fixed."

He was so nice and helpful! He explained to me everything that he was going to do and the pricing was fair! He said he might not get to my car for a couple of days, but he called me up the next day letting me know he was done! I'm so grateful for this place! I will be back for future car needs!

Bodie diagnosed my car trouble after my regular mechanic could not figure out the problem. He’s easy to work with and only charged me for an hour, even though it took longer than that. Only negative is that his waiting list was about two weeks to get it in, but that’s because he’s honest and is good at what he does. Highly recommended.

Finding a good mechanic is tough because you have to find someone you trust and that is honest.Whenever I pick up my car from Bodie, he shows me the parts he replaced and explains what he did. It is amazing.Whenever I go anywhere else to get something done I always find myself waiting to see if they will explain what they did and show me the parts they took out.Bodie took over for Ron at Lowe Auto. He is amazing. He is the only person I trust with my car. When I have an emergency he will always try to get us in.Image is of our serpentine belt and spark plugs he replaced.

Took in my old 1999 car with zero notice and fixed it in a day. Saw his schedule and they were busy, but was able to fix an exhaust leak and a check engine light in just over 1 business day.Charged $115 per hour for labor.Very friendly and personable. Showed me the broker parts afterwards. Amazing Customer Service! Definitely will return again if I have any more car issues, but will ensure to make an appointment. Doesn’t do Apple Pay.
