I called Aveda and asked how much it would be to color and cut my hair. They fit me in the next day, which was very kind.
During my hair color, when she was washing it out… she said, what color of toner do you want. I told her I wanted a more silver tone. She said okay and continued on washing my hair.
After cutting my hair, the lady had a clipboard and she said it was $397. So, I walked up to the front desk and asked the lady why it was so much? I reminded her that she told me it would be $199.
She looked at my and said, Yes! I did tell you it was $199, but your hair was thicker than I thought and we did a full weave instead of a half weave, and we put toner in your hair which also costed more. I replied…why didn’t you tell me it was going to be more and that the toner was going to cost extra? You never told me any of that. You told me it was $199. She said… well, we did a full weave instead of a half weave and used toner and it is $397.
I told her I didn’t know they did a full weave, instead of a half and I didn’t know it was $60 extra for toner. She told me it was $199 when I made the appt.
I told her I didn’t have the money. I told her I had $250 cash, that’s all. She told me to go find the money and asked me to leave my credit card or drivers license with her until I got back.
I did everything that night to find extra money to pay her. I had gone to Costco the day before and bought food for my kids and I, so I took all the food back and sold a few things online that night to find enough money to pay her the next day and get my credit card back.
I just thought it was so inconsiderate and rude how I was treated. If it was going to cost more I should have been told.
She blindsided me and doubled the price of my hair appt.
I would not use this company. They don’t deserve anyone’s business if they are going to treat people this way.

Don't go here, horrible coloring experience and REFUSED get give me even a partial refund. I went in the get my hair done. I knew it was going to take a few sessions, but the girl was confident she could get me "bright and blonde." This was a week before my vacation so I didn't want it to be ruined. But that happened anyway. Not only did she leave the bleach on for over and hour it was done so bad, that the place that fixed it were shocked the lead stylest helped. It didn't seem bad when I left because by the time I put my glasses back on she had curled it to look okay. She told me it just might need a different toner depending on how it fades that week. I washed it the next day it was awful. They weren't even opened the next day to get it fixed but there was no way just a toner could fix what they have done. When I reached out for them they were even give me a partial refund for having to go somewhere else to get it fixed. I wasted $230 plus the time I had take off of work. I don't have money to just throw around. I had saved up for this appointment. Don't waste your time. They don't care about you and what you want.

Aveda is known for quality work. From junior stylists to master stylists.
I've had cuts done by stylists of all these levels for the last 15 years.
So why does this manager think making excuses is Aveda quality instead of following their own policy?
My sister had her hair butchered by Elora a week before I went to get a haircut. Why wouldn't I? A junior stylist level does not mean they aren't skilled. I WAS WRONG!
I am leaving this review after getting subpar responses from the manager.
My sister waited a month to go back and let her know what had happened and was told she should have gone in sooner (so they could cut it shorter?? ?). She did offer to set up another appt with a different stylist, but there was no accountability otherwise. I went and talked to the manager the day after my cut, and her idea of being helpful was making a bunch of excuses.
"She is new.... "
"She completed her training"
"Did you tell her what you wanted?" "Did you show her pictures?"
"Everyone has their own interpretation" (What?! An inch is an inch!)
Is this Aveda or not? I tried to make it clear that it may be helpful for Liv to get some more training, maybe being shadowed or whatever they do. However, if the trainer is saying she is good to go... maybe they need a new trainer?
Be aware. Ask beforehand. We won't be going back.

Katlyn is the only stylist I trust with my hair. She’s been maintaining my blonde for years and never disappoints. I appreciate the time she spends consulting me and answering my questions. The products she recommended have significantly improved the health and look of my hair. Can’t recommend her enough!

After having been to a few different salons in the valley, I have finally found my home at Life Aveda! And Misook is MY GURL! If you find an amazing hair artist, never let them go… and I will keep coming back to Misook ALWAYS! I never leave disappointed and she keeps my hair looking AMAZING!
You will get THE TREATMENT at this salon from the moment you walk in the door. I’m always greeted by name when I walk in, and always leave relaxed after a good head AND hand massage. And I LOVE the smell of Aveda products!

The salon/spa has a wonderful energy. Everyone is friendly and go out of their way to make me feel important.
Jake Howard has “healing hands”. I love the way my skin feels during and after his treatments. I “purr” on the table and the for the rest of the day.
