My recent experience at the American First Credit Union, particularly with employees Kara and Amy, was not just disappointing, but frankly unacceptable. The situation involved a simple task – cashing a check – that was turned into a frustrating ordeal due to their unprofessional conduct.Firstly, their refusal to cash a check dated just one day in the future, despite having permission from the account owner, was an example of inflexible and impractical policy enforcement. The decision to withdraw funds from the corresponding business account and then withhold them from me was baffling and disrupted my financial plans.The customer service aspect was deeply concerning. Being made to wait for over 49 minutes is in itself a sign of operational inefficiency. However, the blatant unprofessionalism displayed by Kara and Amy, who chose to discuss my situation in front of me, was disrespectful and highly unprofessional. This behavior is not only unacceptable but also tarnishes the reputation of American First Credit Union.What concerns me most is the casual disregard for customer time and the apparent lack of accountability in handling straightforward transactions. This incident reflects a serious need for reevaluation of staff training and customer service protocols at the credit union.I strongly urge the management at American First Credit Union to address these issues immediately. Such service is intolerable and does not meet the basic standards expected from a financial institution. Future customers should not have to endure similar experiences.

Friendly atmosphere and very helpful. The only thing was they wanted to put a 10 day hold on a local check from a very prominent law firm. I made the deposit at my other bank with only a 3 day hold. Then I needed to get a cashier check from my bank and deposit that amount into America first to pay off my auto loan.

I got there at 5 and the doors were closed and the lights were off and it said that they are open until 6 why would you tell everyone you're open until 6 and be close ?

If I could give zero stars I would. I made a cash deposit through the ATM Tuesday July 26th and the ATM “ate” my money (somewhere between $270-$310). I immediately went inside and spoke with a teller. The teller told me there was nothing she could do; I would have to wait until the ATM is serviced through their third party vendor the following Monday, but in the meantime she recommended that I see if my financial institution will dispute it for me. I do not bank with AFCU, but my auto loan is here. I’ve used the ATM before for a cash deposit with no issues.I went in on Monday August 1st, and the teller said it could take up to 48 hours for the company that services the ATM to “investigate”. She also told me that it’s the risk I take using the ATM… Great customer service and empathy by the way.Now that it’s been 48 hours, I called their call center and was told it can actually take up to 45 days since I’m considered a non member.This whole situation has been extremely frustrating and stressful. It seems like each person I’ve dealt with has just given me a run around. I will never utilize this location in the future and I plan on moving my auto loan elsewhere due to their customer service or lack thereof.

this is the worst untrained location. if they have an issue on a personal level or if they are to engaged in chatting at window with each other. the girl and her supervisor will not help you simply brush you off. I have done business for years with afc and this branch has made me start to seek other financial companies to go to. worst staff at drive through. will never recommend

I went to the credit union this morning. They were servicing the ATMs so I had to ho through the drive thru. It took an inordinately long time. All I was doing was withdrawing a small amount of money from savings. The teller comes back and says she is sorry it took so long but it took so long because I need to get my dead husband off my account. It has only been eight months and I know I need to get him off but I need to leave him on there until everything is settled .She was blunt to the point of both rude and demeaning. She needs some grief and loss training. Please. If I can't been a customer for decades, I would have closed my account right then.

#americaworstThey don’t show you your current available balance with every transaction, so unless you have a check register and are closely monitoring your transactions, they could be blindly stealing from you and you wouldn’t even know it.Deposited money into their ATM once and it ate my cash. ATM shut down and had to wait the next day in order to get my money back. The manager spoke to me as if I was incompetent and completely d*** because of their technology issues. Just because I’m young does not mean you can be disrespectful.Don’t bank with this credit union.

I recently moved my accounts to America First. Needless to say I am very impressed! The staff are very kind and patient. Corey, I believe that is his name, was extremely helpful today. Any questions I have were answered throughly. I am so glad I switched banks!

Thank you America First for making my son's 7th birthday awesome! We went in to open him a savings account of his own. As soon as we mentioned that it was his bday everyone was very attentive to him and made him feel like he was part of the process. The account opening process itself went great, no issues at all. Very positive experience!
