DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE FOR ANYTHING!!! Had my transmission rebuilt After 3 years needs new transmission!! Spent $3600 now they want $4200 to fix WHAT JOKE AND WILL NOT HONOR THERE Warranty That supposedly is a 5-year 100,000 Miles warranty! And will not take accountability for their crap transmission but are quick to Screw people out of their money!! This place is staining that Tanner name that they talked so highly about every time you call! Take you're business somewhere else you will be better off TRUST ME!!

They replaced my transmission replaced Sept of 2023. I took it in for a for a leaking pan gasket Aug 2024. Jim said, “it’s brown fluid so it’s engine oil… transmission fluid is red.” I asked him to smell and feel it, it’s transmission fluid. He argued with me for 10 mins. Turns out I was right. A replacement gasket and the scheduled service took several days. I never received any updates from them unless I called. Their communication and service is terrible.

DO NOT GO HERE. I made the mistake of getting my transmission replaced here, and not only is this place insanely overpriced, but I have had all kinds of strange issues with my truck ever since. My sensors started having voltage issues, and the new transmission shifts hard and stutters a lot. I had the old guy at the shop look at it and he said it was fine....
They didn't even replace the old shift linkage bushing along with the transmission. They put the old one back on, which caused it to break and leave me stuck in a 110° parking lot miles away from a parts store, and when I called and told the old guy about it he acted like they had nothing to do with it and refused to come tow my truck and take care of the issue because "it's in the contract that the customer has to get it to the shop". So there is zero actual support for you if you get work done here. If I didn't know how to replace that linkage bushing, my truck would be stuck in reverse in a parking lot. Thankfully it didn't break while my wife was using it.
I will never be bringing any other vehicle to any Tanner Transmission location again, and I will be warning everybody I can about this place. Absolute trash.

I feel compelled to share my experience with Tanner Transmissions in Salt Lake City to warn potential customers about their shady business practices, dishonesty, and lack of communication. Please do your research on this business before patronizing them. The reviews, complaints, and legal proceedings against them speak for themselves. This is not a business you want to interact with.
Shady Business Practices and Dishonesty From the moment I stepped into Tanner Transmissions, I was met with unprofessionalism and deceit. Despite their promises of quality service and quick turnaround, my vehicle was returned in worse condition than before.
Lack of Communication Throughout the repair process, communication was virtually nonexistent. I was left in the dark about the status of my vehicle, and my calls and emails often went unanswered. When I did manage to get through, I was given vague responses and false assurances.
Legal Proceedings and State Investigations To add to this concern, Tanner Transmissions is currently facing multiple legal proceedings due to their unethical practices as well as multiple judgments against them over the last 20 years. It’s unbelievable that a business would be allowed to continue to operate with the number of lawsuits, liens, tax evasions, etc. that have occurred. There have been state investigations into their business conduct, further highlighting their lack of integrity and transparency. It is clear these issues are not isolated incidents but part of a broader pattern of malpractice.
Customer Service Nightmare The customer service at Tanner Transmissions is atrocious. Instead of addressing my concerns and attempting to rectify the situation, they were rude and dismissive. This level of disrespect and lack of accountability is unacceptable in any business, let alone one handling something as critical as vehicle transmissions.
Final Warning If you're considering Tanner Transmissions for your vehicle repairs, I urge you to think twice. Save yourself the stress, frustration, and financial burden by seeking a reputable, honest, and professional service elsewhere. Tanner Transmissions has proven time and time again that they cannot be trusted.
In conclusion, my experience with Tanner Transmissions has been nothing short of a nightmare. Their shady practices, dishonesty, and lack of communication, combined with ongoing legal and state investigations, make them a business to avoid at all costs.

Called to ask a simple question about a warranty and the guy was so arrogant and rude. Cutting me off mid sentence, saying 'Not my problem' and scoffing. I didn't even get to ask my question before he hung up on me.

After I had them flush my transmission it started leaking and they wouldn’t take responsibility and fix it. They said it’s because they filled it up all the way and the leak must have already there when they most likely overfilled it. Would not recommend.

Went in to get a quote old man upfront wasn’t very helpful I told him my issue. He pretty much made it known he wasn’t interested in my business tried to make me feel dumb but it’s whatever. Take your transmission needs else where

This is, perhaps the worst establishment I have ever done business with. I was recommended to Tanner transmission by someone, and so I was looking forward to getting good service on my Ford F150. However, when I would check in and talked to them, they were very reassuring that they were working on my truck and getting everything done on a timely manner, but it was taking longer and longer to fix. Kept going, and they kept reassuring me but they were delaying and were just downright terrible at their jobs. After it took them a month and a half to replace a transmission and it was time to pay, I asked for a discount because of how long it took, and they told me no, so I even talked to the owner, and he proceeded to talk about my personal life, because he knew somebody I was related to, and insulted me, and refused to give me any sort of discount. I was so thrown off and angry, I couldn't believe how unprofessional he was. Do not take your vehicle here. This is the first review I have ever written, because I was so surprised at how bad this business was, I decided I needed to write a review. After a while, I found out the reason they took so long to fix my truck was that they had fired their entire staff, and we're not letting customers know because they didn't want to lose business. Very unprofessional.
