Medical staff was great and caring. The cna staff were friendly and helpful! The therapy team was top notch. They gave me all the tools to get my strength back. Happy with my stay at Sandy!

Please be vigilant in asking for care for your loved one. My mother had hip surgery which comes with an extremely high rates of blood clots. She was having deep leg pain I asked Dr. Muir for an ultra sound and he said the machine was booked out for weeks, she was ignored and ended up with bilateral PE’s in her lungs. Why not send her out for an ultra sound because of the high risk. They also would let her sit in dirty briefs and she was even transported to an appt in a dirty brief. She had terrible abdominal pain and was never tested for a UTI. After being rushed to the emergency room with an O2 level of 65 they found she had an extremely bad UTI and the blood clots.PT and OT was terrible as well. There were a few staff that cared well for her, however two very big issues were ignored and not taken seriously. Dr.Muir also told me she had a bowel blockage when questioned he said she had stool in her colon . I’m not sure he is the best at treating patients. I went ti clear her room out and received no sympathy just a blank stare from Taylor. One tech saw me and gave me a hug. My mother has been in the ICU and hospital for the last two weeks trying to heal from the things that were clearly missed. I also received a follow up phone call from the head nurse Rebekah and was told if I had questions to call her. I did because I needed to know if my mother received her flu shot no response, Destiny texted me for a time for another care visit after telling Taylor we were not coming back. Communication was not very good. They also have no one to answer phones on the weekend.Thank you Cleopatra for your watchful care

This place is messed up in so many ways and they should not be in business. We started the approval process in the beginning of August 2023. We were told the steps we needed to do to get my mother approved. We did everything that was asked and then we were told some other things needed to be done September 1, 2023 so we did those as well. I talked with Taylor, who would say one thing and then the complete opposite. I feel he doesn’t know exactly how to do his job. We finally got her “approved” and he gives me a broken cart to load my mother’s stuff on. When I showed him this he said that was the only one they had. I asked someone else and they were able to provide us with one that worked. My mother was admitted on a Thursday, and the following Monday they told her she had to leave. No family was contacted. My sisters and I were furious. She should not have had to deal with that without us with her. They were so unprofessional. Some things we noticed during her very short stay there was they withheld toilet paper in her bathroom, she couldn’t ask for help because she forgot about the call button, there were cobwebs that weren’t ever cleaned, her roommate kept stealing her belongings, eating her food, and laying in her bed. Staff knew about this and it continued. DO NOT allow any family member to be admitted here. They don’t know how to do their job and are extremely unprofessional. Their accreditation needs to be looked into and reported to the health department.

This place is horrible. Cobwebs on bathroom floor corners. The staff wouldn't provide toilet paper or towels in the restroom. They withheld it due to her roommate having dementia. I asked for it multiple times for my mom. They told me no.This place is deplorable. Don't allow loved ones to be subjected to this place.

After reading reviews on here I felt I had to leave one myself. My niece is moving to a Facility in sandy and I was wondering how many options there were in sandy and the likelihood she would be in the same place my dad was which is here .My dad was here for a little over a month and I was there every single day that he was there and I ave to say I saw nothing close to what I have read in the reviews. It was very clean. staff was over the top amazing.they werebsi good to my dad as he recovered from heart surgery that when we knew my niece was going to a place some where we actually brought this place up to my sister in law as the place to fight for her to go .

Having visited a relative in this facility I was impressed by the caring and compassionate professionalism of the staff. The facility itself falls short of that bar. This rehabilitation and care facility is past due for a total renovation. A tired looking structure with chipping paint, ripped screens, broken accessories, and dated decor take away from the staff’s excellent approach to patient care.Staff: 5 starsBuilding and grounds: a generous 1 star.Call a contractor.

I know we do a lot wrong but we also do a lot right! I have worked here for two years and it has became my home away from home! I love working here because the difference we make in our residence. i know you read all these bad reviews but with any establishment you have the good and the bad! You always hear more about the bad than you do the good! We have residents that have been here for more than 10 years and they love it! It's like any facility we try our hardest and it's hard to please everyone! this is my all time favorite job I have ever had! It's very rewarding at the end of the day! I know patients that leave and when they need to they come back I also have residents that leave and come back to visit the great staff and other residents, so it actually can't be that bad. I love being employed at sandy health and rehab!

Too many patients to staff. The residents are under cared for because there's not enough staff. Staff seems burned out and they don't care about residents. Too many falls happen here too.

They never met my dietary requirements for a low sodium, diabetes, gluten, and lectin free diet! My family had to bring me food or I would have starved! The manager of the kitchen did not care and would not accomadate all my neccessary dietary special requirements. I have pictures to prove this all. This was up-setting. I was there for 22 days and only received two showers and one bed changing of my sheets! This wasn't good! There were several unprofessional nurses and aids at this facility. There was only a few professional nurses and aids that were worth their weight in gold the rest were extremely unprofessional!! When I requested certain needs from the nurses, aids, and even their house doctor showed they did not care and I caught facility doctor in two out right lies he told me and some of their nurses I also caught lieing to me! Plus, the inappropriate way of how the facility was handling the covid-19 patients was not to code and I did not want to get covid-19 I self checked myself out early and never looked back. This was a stay and experience from HELL!! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY TO ANYONE EVER!!!

I have never been to a health facility that was so poorly kept. It looks as you enter, but go further in it smells (not clean), it’s dark and dreary. Holes in the walls broken blinds in the room. Asked for ice water, they sent me to the nurses station, there are coolers with ice and water, a blue cooler and orange drink cooler as if you’re camping! With a sign that says everyone must wear gloves! Non-attentive. Nurse went in one night asked what pills he was taking, he said, it’s in your charts, never saw the nurse again! Horrific! I can’t believe any insurance company would pay for this!

Took a week for them to give my mother a bath. I was on the phone because when you go in there’s nobody at the front desk there’s nobody at the nurses station. She had blood in her stools that they ignored. They didn’t have her up and around like she should’ve been or doing her respiratory as she should have. She ended up with severe anemia and pneumonia. I was going to transfer her, but they said she was going home in a couple of Days. So I didn’t see the point but then it turned into more days on a Wednesday I wanted her removed so she was going to be released on Thursday, but ended up in the hospital at 3 am. They did nothing about my mother’s dietary needs, they did apologize for not doing a 72 hour turnaround for her but things really didn’t get better. The place looks rundown and neglected. They almost killed my mother. I feel by their neglect. Mom did say that she thought the staff was very kind to her.

If you want your family member to die quickly send them here otherwise stay far away!!! I visited my mom on January 12th and she was up walking and outside and talking normally I went out of town for about one week and came back to her being sedated without authorization. Constantly sleeping and not eating because she was never awake. When the facility was asked about this they said she was talking about her dead relatives and combative. She had dementia so that was somewhat normal and should not be treated with sedative medication. They consistently tried to change medication for depression and delusions but could never find what made the change. During this time she became unable to use the restroom herself and was left to sit in her mess for hours. Also left to not eat or drink or be assisted with anything. Needless to say she severely declined daily. I arrived to their facility on February 18th with her upside down in her bed soiled and And pretty much in the throes of death. I asked the nurse toprovide something to help her with the pain and the panic at 3 PM and was told they would order end of life care (comfort meds). Our family gathered to be with her and had to sit and watch her suffer unnecessary for hours with zero privacy as her roommate continued to provide unwelcome commentary. By 6 pm no meds and we were required to sit next to her in order to keep Her from falling out of bed due to the lashing about. The nurse was asked again for medications and she didn't know but she would give my mother somebody else's morphine.... At the time it was a relief but looking back I wonder how this is legal and ok??? The morphine did nothing and this continued until I asked again and she brought my mom someone else's Ativan!! About this time we finally got somebody to change her clothing and soiled diaper finally! During all of this While she was thrashing around and gurgling they felt it was a good idea to bring her a full meal! Why would that be beeded? Obviously there was 0 communication of what was going on. We had a doc come in one time and indicate she was dying (duh) and they would assist. At 730 we again asked when her meds would arrive because it did not seem to be helping and the nurse informed us she didn't know where the med's were and her shift was over. At this point I called in a separate hospice facility to assist (family member) Because the medication was not being administered as it should have been and it was becoming very painful to watch. They arrived at 9 PM and asked the new nurse on duty when the medications for my mother would arrive and was told there was never any orders put in from the 1st nurse!! Luckily our new nurse was able to provide some relief and clean her up to allow my mother to pass peacefully and with some dignity. 2 weeks prior to all of this a custom made oversized crochet blanket of my mother's went missing I asked for it to be located and returned as it did have her name on it And had been in our family for quite some time with no results. When my mother passed I asked again for that blanket and her items to be picked up. I got no phone calls back ( Because all they do is push you to random voicemails) no text replies from the social workers who are supposed to be helping. Today is 4 weeks since my mother passed I informed them I was coming for all of her stuff And have been told that nothing was there including the blanket. I am currently filing a complaint with the seat for many items including neglect, lack of end of life care, Administering medications that don't belong to patients and theft. I again cannot tell how disgustand unprofessional this places and if it is recommended to you run as fast and far away as you can!

The doctor at this sandy health and rehab attempted to kill our Mother. The fat blob of a doctor witch murderer overdosed her multiple times sending her into comatose state. After repeatedly requesting that the doctor lessen the amount of insulin, and my mother nearly passing away, and the Doctor refusing to listen to us.., on purpose, i finally called paramedics. The director of this rehab would not let paramedics take our mom out of rehab. I and my husband stepped in and we got the job done. At hospital, it was confirmed that she was being overdosed and that she would have died. We are now starting a formal lawsuit against Sandy rehab and we will shut them down so nobody else has to go through this. Please read this before you allow any family member or loved one to go into Sandy health and rehab. They will kill your loved ones.

I have been a C.N.A. for 14 years, and have worked in a couple different care facilities. Sandy is by far my favorite one. I’ve worked here for 5 years, and there have been ups and downs. Especially after covid. Nowhere is perfect. There is always room for improvement in any care facility. That being said, I feel like the management team we have right now is working hard to make things better.
