I'm not an avid climber, but I've been to Momentum a few times and have always had a great experience. The front desk staff is quick to serve and seem to genuinely enjoy their job. On our most recent trip, the staff let us know about the current offer but didn't pressure us into taking it. (Even though it was a no-brainer deal. Essentially two weeks of climber for the price of one?? Duh.) The facility is very well taken care of, the bathrooms are always clean, and the staff is good at keeping the floor clear and making sure patrons are being respectful and responsible. Everything you could need is there for rent, all you have to do is show up.

Within the last year the Sandy Momentum location has slowly become known for having staff at the front desk that is pretty rude. Any time my friends or I have had to ask a question or try to talk to the front desk staff we are constantly treated like we are severely bothering them. The questions can be as simple as trying to check in a friend with the guest pass and for some reason that is a big inconvenience for them. With that being said, I have only had good experiences from Nicole. She is always so kind to work with and ask for help. The rest if the staff should be taking notes from how she treats members because most of them could use a serious attitude adjustment. My family and friends and I have been coming here for almost a year and a half. I have written positive reviews in the past but unfortunately something needs to change. I hope the right person sees this, we used to love this location.

Update: the gift card they gave instead of the refund was empty. The employee gave an empty gift card to get us to leave!DO NOT GO HERE, this gym is the most unwelcoming gym i have ever been to. I've been climbing all over utah at different gyms and i took some friends climbing today who are new to climbing, when we go in i have to show them how to belay before they take the test, after about 5 minutes they knew how to belay really well and when we went to take the test the guy at the front desk said we are not all to climb and not allowed to take the test because i showed them how to belay and they will need to take the $35 HOUR long class on just how to belay. After they said we are now allowed to climb (just because i showed my friends) i asked for a refund and they were not able to refund me and made me get a gift card instead, later when i asked about where it says in the rules and he just pointed to this very small poster And said its on here. NO WHERE in this poster does it say that if you show someone how to belay it means you cant climb. This gym is the most UNWELCOMING CLIMBING GYM IN UTAH. The gym in leghi is much much better but this one is absolutely terrible.

I have been climbing at Sandy Momentum for the last year, and have zero complaints. All of the staff are fantastic, and play great music you can hear most nights. Don’t miss out on the “closing announcements” from Eric, always a great way to end the night.

Great staff. The setting is pretty solid, not too soft or sandbagged usually. Good amount of variation in walls. Highly recommend their v3 and v5 bouldering classes

Customer service VERY rough it was my first time there I had so many questions if it's your first time I wouldn't start here without someone you know it's like a barrier to entry here. I wouldn't be surprised if this place will eventually struggle. Anyways yesterday was Veterans Day, I didn't feel comfortable and they let a lot of people cut in front of us I wouldn't have stayed if it wasn't for a friend. HONESTLY I just didn't feel very welcomed there. I mean no one said anything about where I sign a waiver and stuff. This is my review of momentum and how I feel about it. Anyways this review kinda sucks. The equipment and walls for climbing were awesome though.

Lots of fun top rope and lead climbing here. The bouldering area is small and kind of crowded on busy days. I do like the cave like Bouldering area. Very unique to this location

Wow! What a great experience. Im visiting from Canada and my friend took me here to try rock climbing. It was my first time ever and now I feel like Im addicted. Great atmosphere, everyone is friendly. There was someone who walked by and asked for us not to take photos as you need 2 hands on the rope at all times. We were not told this earlier in the day but I really appreciate that staff member saying something. She was kind enough and took photos for us. We also did a hour lesson with Levi and he was awesome. I kept getting confused with something and he would help remind me or fix any issues I had. He was also kind enough to take photos/videos for us as well. He was also really nice. This place is great for all ages in my opinion. I like that they had a kid section as well. Thank you for a great start to my vacation!

The gym is great and all, but the kids not being watched over is truly a pain. Every so often, there’s young children playing around right under me when I’m bouldering. I almost severely injured a child once because I slipped while climbing. I’m 180lbs and I don’t think the injury would be light if I fell on top of a 7 year old.

Fun friendly atmosphere, the route setting is fun and challenging. Sandy Momentum is one of my favorite places to be.EXCEPT THIS ONE TIME I BROUGHT MY TOY DINOSAURS TO THE GYM AND ASKED THE FRONT DESK STAFF IF THEY WANTED TO PLAY DINOSAURS WITH ME. THIS ONE GIRL THERE SAID NO. WHICH IS FINE, SHE DOESN’T NEED TO PLAY DINOSAURS WITH ME. BUT THEN SHE TAKES OUT HER OWN DINOSAUR FROM BEHIND THE DESK AND PROCCEDS TO PLAY DINOSAURS AT THE OTHER END OF THE DESK WITHOUT ME. GRANTED HER DINOSAUR WAS OF A HIGHER QUALITY AND MUCH COOLER THAN MINE. I JUST THOUGHT THAT WAS EXTEMELY RUDE…Jokes on her I went in early the next day and stole her dinosaur and I’m not sure I’m going to give it back…Other than that one experience Sandy Momentum is the best. One time the management even offered to get me a membership at another gym

It gets pretty packed here. The available routes are pretty varied, and the ceilings are tall. Nearly all of the staff I've interacted with have been pretty cool. But nothing really shouts '5 stars' to me. The membership is more than double what I paid at my last gym, but it comes with yoga classes and stuff so I guess I get more for my buck. (Maybe unfortunately?) this is probably the best gym to climb at in the valley. A million times better than The Front anyway.

Good climbing gym overall, but the routes do not get changed out often enough. Also, it gets really crowded with the kids clubs- especially in the bouldering area.

Momentum Indoor Climbing in Sandy, Utah, is an exceptional climbing gym that offers an exhilarating experience for climbers of all skill levels. With its state-of-the-art facilities, diverse climbing routes, and welcoming community, this gym has become a go-to destination for both seasoned climbers and beginners looking to embark on a thrilling adventure. The facility is spacious, well-maintained, and designed with climbers in mind. The walls are adorned with an impressive array of climbing routes, each catering to different difficulty levels, ensuring that there's something for everyone, regardless of their experience or skill. The gym's staff members are friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about climbing. They provide expert guidance, support, and safety instructions, ensuring that climbers feel confident and secure as they navigate the routes. Whether you're a first-time climber or a seasoned pro, the staff's willingness to share their expertise and offer helpful tips adds tremendous value to the overall climbing experience. I do prefer the Millcreek location more due to the layout and more free climbing areas but overall it is nice.
