My dogs love this place. It's always hard to leave part of your family whenever you go away, and they can't comeThis place takes away all that stress and worry. Daily photos and updates on how they are makes you feel like they care as much as you do.

We’ve tried a bunch of places for our dog when we travel, and this place is the best we’ve found so far in the Murray/Midvale/Sandy area. Great staff who ask about the dog and know how to take care of them for extended stays.

I have a little toy dog that has people issues. Maren and her staff at DogTown in Sandy are very patient with him and do not push him out of his comfort zone while he is there for daycare and boarding. Anthony has groomed him twice. He's come home looking adorable and not stressed. I've worked with Maren for training. She's amazing! She is very knowledgeable. Since she takes the time to get to know his needs and personality, I've been given very useful and successful training methods that are custom fit to him. I repeat ~ custom fit. Do I recommend DogTown, Anthony, and Maren? Absolutely 100%

I just wrapped up a 6-week training program with Dogtown's head trainer, Makenzie and had such an amazing experience. I have a timid, sometimes reactive and aggressive dog, who needed a lot of help with training. After an hour consultation with Makenzie, we decided to do three day & train sessions where my dog would go to their facility for a half day of training one on one with Makenzie, three at home 1:1 sessions in my dog's natural environment, and three hour long group classes. The amount that I learned in these 6 weeks was absolutely mind blowing. Training your dog is about practice and consistency, and speaking your dog's language, and Dogtown gave me the confidence and the knowledge to be able to train my dog on my own. The day & train opportunities were a wonderful way to start. Makenzie would train my dog 1:1 and then would send me videos about everything they worked on during their sessions. When I came to pick her up, Makenzie would show me what they worked on and how I could practice it at home. The training sessions in my own home were incredibly helpful as well. It gave me time to practice with my dog(s) in their natural environment and refreshers on what we had already learned, and building upon the skills she was learning. The group sessions were amazing for my dog, and any dog, to have an opportunity to practice in a new, overstimulating environment with other dogs that she doesn't know. Since she is apprehensive around other dogs, this was amazing practice for her. On top of everything else, the team is so friendly and kind, and the trainers are so knowledgable. I had the chance to take a group class with their trainer Maren and she was wonderful as well. Thank you to the team for teaching both me and my dog the skills to be better trained.

We started taking our sweet, fun-loving, and sometimes stubborn, Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, Mak, to Dogtown in Sandy as soon as he turned 4 months old and got his rabies vaccination. He absolutely LOVES the people there and is always so excited to go and see them and play with the other dogs. When we take him to dog parks now, you can tell that he has already been well socialized because of his experiences there. One of the trainers there is Maren. We decided to do some in-home training sessions with Maren. You should have seen Mak the first time Maren showed up at our home - excited is not nearly a strong enough word for how happy he was to see her at his house. He absolutely loves working with her. The humans (my husband and I) have learned so much about how to work with our puppy to have a happy and more obedient dog. With his size, we needed him to learn early how to behave and have good manners because at 6.5 months old, he's already 70 pounds! Maren knows her stuff and she knows how to work with both the dogs and the humans to get the best results! We will continue to work with Maren as Mak grows, to help him continue be the best furry friend he can be!

Large-breed owners beware this is not a conducive environment for all dogs…We started bringing our 1-year old Dogo Argentino rescue to the Sandy location about 4 months ago and things started off well but then became progressively worse. She passed the required temperament test before we began boarding and we voluntarily signed her up for intermittent training as well to help with some of her energetic puppy behaviors. We loved the daily photos/report cards during boarding and the thorough feedback and videos following training.Initially, her report cards were generally positive and she has always been very receptive to training. She also seemed to really love her stays and was excited to be dropped off so we were caught off guard when after her last stay we were told she was too high energy to be around other dogs and would require a more expensive separate kennel and mandatory training to continue to board her there. Despite being willing to do all of this, apparently we also needed to attend an in-person meeting with the manager/trainer that my husband missed due to work and after repeated unreturned calls/messages to the manager we we’re finally told that this facility no longer wants to do business with us or our dog.In what could only be described as a completely unprofessional, unhinged rant by the manager over the phone she told us we are not invested in our dogs training and that we were poor with communication and out of line for adding additional (paid) nights to boarding occasionally despite the fact that they frequently didn’t do grooming or training during boarding when we had asked for it.Our dog has never shown aggression to other dogs and is as gentle as can be with our 3 young children so we can only surmise that the manager/trainer clearly takes issues with larger, dominant breeds of dogs and is not equip to give them the safe, loving environment or training that we would expect when spending significant amounts of money for their services. Our dog is incredibly loved and we are extremely invested in her despite the managers unkind words so we will be taking her somewhere more inclusive for her breed and much more professional for boarding in the future and suggest other large breed owners do the same.

Here to echo the sentiments of others that the management at this place is atrocious. Completely unprofessional, accusatory and honestly predatory demanding large breed dogs with what they perceive as "negative behavior" undergo costly mandatory training with boarding that is quite frankly completely ineffective. Please consider taking your dog, especially if they are a large/dominant breed somewhere else because they are clearly unwelcome here and if you speak up about it, be prepared to be completely berated by a manager who takes no accountability in her own incompetence.

Dogtown is the best! Not only do my dogs love going there to play, their training program is amazing! We did the 5 week private lessons with our reactive dog and we couldn’t be happier with the progress Maren has helped up to make. We went from our dog walking us around the neighborhood and barking at other dogs to him being stable and confident. He enjoys walking next to us on a loose leash and he is so much happier with the boundaries we have set for him. Thank you so much Maren and everyone at Dogtown, you guys are amazing!

I am a Dogtown Pet Spa fan. I have taken my German shepherd, Maggie, there for grooming, boarding, daycare, and training. Anthony always ensures she comes back smelling fantastic and Maren's efforts have made a big impact on her behavior.Maggie is an excellent dog inside my house, but she is very reactive and protective on walks. Maren has spent a long time training Maggie (Board and Train) and later in follow-up day and train lessons and private lessons to train me as the human in how best to support my pup.On Tuesday this week, I experienced my first relatively pleasant evening walk with Maggie courtesy of Maren’s training. Based on feedback from our Saturday session at Murray Park, I intentionally walked slightly slower than I even I would like to show Maggie that I was the one to determine the pace instead of her; in the past I always had to move at a speed walk/jog to match her energy. Maggie did not react negatively to two sets of pedestrians and later a revving motorcycle ?️. In the past she would lunge at both, seeing them as threats to my safety. However, thanks to Maren's trainings, Maggie's on-leash skills have substantially improved. I could tell the difference from her four days of day and train, and I feel more confident now that I’m holding the leash correctly thanks to Maren's patient feedback. She's been a great cheerleader for both of us.

We LOVE Dogtown! Not only is their daycare/boarding absolutely amazing, we just went through a wonderful training program with Maren. She did a great job helping us guide our dog through some reactivity issues, as well as some obedience training. She helped us to positively enforce guidelines with our dog in a patient manner. We can't wait to continue working with her in the future!

We boarded our two Griffin pointer pups at Dogtown for 4 days while we were on a trip. The facility is clean, well kept and the employees are awesome. The dogs were well cared for and they were the same happy, crazy puppies when we got them back home.

This review is for Sandy location. Administrative. Phones never work so unable to call in when I need to. Would not let me see boarding area AT ANY TIME. No cameras on dogs, only front desk. My baby always smells like pee after one day of daycare. Last and final straw - they incorrectly told me this morning that my dog needs Lepto shot - WRONG, all vaccinations are up to date. Also, their internet site is NOT secure!! I will be pulling my card on file and changing to another facility.

So we have a puppy that was adopted from the shelter almost 2 years ago. Looking for guidance on some behaviors we haven’t been able to correct… such as jumping on people, and leash pulling. Macey has a strong personality but with the two week Ideal Board and Train we now have the skills to help her navigate her relationships within our home and we are so happy to see the progress she has made with her certified dog trainer Maren. We have a follow up home session in a few weeks and really feel supported by the entire staff at Dogtown ❤️

I love Dogtown, my dog Ellie loves being well taken care of and pampered by the staff. The staff have always made sure to update me with photographs and little notes from her play day, they also make sure to give Ellie a wonderful spa treatment before I pick her up so she smells fresh and clean when we go home. I love how Dogtown not only takes care of my dog but the dogs of my friends like they are family. I will most definitely be coming back when we need boarding in the future.Ellie is often there for daycare and loves to play with her friends, the staff is diligent on keeping up with the training commands that Ellie learned in her training course with Dogtown. I love that she comes home tired but fulfilled when she gets home from daycare.
