The university veterinary hospital has been our favorite vet we've been to. My dog is reactive which has always made going to the vet hard. But they are kind and I can tell they care. They make our visits easier and don't make us feel bad about our dogs special needs.

One of our fur babies was very sick so we scheduled an urgent care visit with University Hospital. They really couldn't do much for our baby except basic blood work and when it came back clean they decided to refer us to an emergency clinic which of course is extremely expensive for further diagnostics. For the hundreds of dollars that we spent we had hoped that University Hospital could have done more for us then just basic blood work then sending us to someone else.If we had known, we could have just reduced the time and cost by going to the ER directly rather going to urgent care with University Hospital. This place is very nice and kind. We have loved every physician and vet tech that has treated our babies. They are so kind and loving towards our babies, but their abilities are far more limited then we thought. We always made it a point to drive to University Hospital even though they are more expensive and significantly further away then our local providers because we thought we were paying for the best medical care available, but after our most recent visit we see how limited their abilities are.I guess for more serious concerns take them elsewhere or go directly to the ER, but for basic routine things like vaccinations and wellness exams bring them here. You can go to any veterinary provider for basic services however.I just wished they could do more for patients considering the higher premiums and the fact that they are one of the few places that offer short notice urgent care. But, whats the point of going to urgent care if they can't really do much?Three stars is for the wonderful service, respect and kind/loving treatment we always receive from University Hospital.

Friendly and welcoming for a first time patient with minimal knowledge and a nervous cat. Explained what services they wanted to provide and why very clearly. Gentle and kind with my pet, all around great experience! Thank you guys!! Carol the cat approved ?

I HAD THE MOST AMAZING EXPERIENCE. DR. BROWN PROVIDED THE CARE FOR MY FURRBABY AND SHE WAS SO GENTLE. SHE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING TO ME AND GAVE ME SOME SUGGESTIONS. HER VET TECH WAS ALSO WONDERFUL TO WORK WITH, SHE WAS SO PATIENT AND PROVIDED EXCELLENT CARE.

They rescheduled on me which was fine but couldn’t give me a room for 30 minutes. I appreciate that they followed up on that after 30 without me asking. Everyone seemed super friendly. $100 was a little steep for five minutes of advice. Something else came up two days later so I called in to see if I could get prescriptions for. They must not have read my file or notes I left with the tech because they wanted to switch her from her food (her food is SO MUCH HEALTHIER than purina), she gets plenty of enrichment, and peeing in my bed a few times is definitely behavioral, not uti focused as it has stopped since I moved her away from the bedroom. I’m disappointed because it feels like there’s nothing left to do but re home the new kitty. It’s not their problem. At least they gave me a call back.

In the decade (+) we taken our furry loved ones to University veterinary and diagnostic center, we have received the best care. Most recently our dog got ahold of dark chocolate and we were able to get right in so they could induce vomiting. He received top notch care and is doing well. The veterinarians, techs, and staff are so professional and friendly. I highly recommend UVH&DC.

Great location and facilities, but more importantly friendly staff. The dogtor and technician my pupperooni and I recently saw explained the possibilities of what was going on with my dogs eye, as this wasn’t just a routine checkup, and we discussed options of care before proceeding. Charlie is kinda hype when he has to chill out in a room but he got plenty of treats during our visit.

Amazing team at this vet office. Great care and compassion provided by our vet, Dr. Potts. The staff tries hard to accommodate appointments and efficiently manages getting pet roomed on time. Being new to Salt Lake City, we have been impressed and relieved to have found a great place.

Dr. Potts is the best! She is watching after our old chorkie to ensure her comfort as age catches up with her. She explains all very well.
