This is a lot of fun for your family! We love the lights and have done this for the past two years. One suggestion I will make is to DRESS WARM!! There is a "warming hut" at the halfway point but its not all that warm and we underestimated the weather a bit. It is very busy there - it was packed but that's to be expected this time of year!

My husband, daughter and I got a tintype photo taken from Dave! It was such an awesome experience and this will definitely be a yearly tradition. Dave was so good at distracting our little one so she would hold still for the photo. He also taught us every step of the way about what he was doing. Super cool and 10/10 would recommend.

Dave has a breadth and depth of knowledge of alternative photo processes that is second to none. On top of that, he is an excellent and patient teacher. I can think of no better place to experience the joys of old-school photography than at Luminaria.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The lights were amazing, with different music playing everywhere. The little snack shacks need hand railing, I saw a man fall over backwards when he stepped back. There were way too many people. The place was not Covid-19 safe at all. Didn’t feel safe, too bad.

Came from Richmond, Virginia to visit family and we decided to see Luminaria. STAFF WAS SO POLITE! We were unsure which route to take and there was a staff member at every fork in the road to help guide us through the walkways. We didn’t explicitly ask anyone for help, but they were actively listening to the guests because when my Dad said, “Crap, do we go this way?” A staff member jumped in and helped us out right away. After we passed by the Gingerbread House on our way out, another woman said, “Thank you for spending your holiday with us!” That’s above and beyond a “Have a good night.” That really made the night feel special. One thing to note: the hot cocoa is worth buying if you’re cold out, but the flavor is a little less cocoa-y than I’d hoped for. Additionally, the line for concessions didn’t have place markers for social distancing, so people were cramming in the line. There was snow on the ground as well, so perhaps I couldn’t see them. Nothing a little spray paint can’t fix!I think this is one area that could be improved. Otherwise, exceptional experience. Bring your family here!

This was our first visit for Luminaria. The entire experience was wonderful and the staff at the event were incredibly helpful and friendly. The lights were beautiful and the smells that were incorporated into each section of the walk made for a unique sensory experience. I felt that the treats available to purchase were tasty and not too overly priced.

We had a terrible experience with the staff attending to the reindeer on the night of Dec 15th. We approached without our masks on, because we are outside and there is zero science that supports wearing of masks outside to stop the transmission of Coronavirus. The woman who was overseeing the reindeer asked if we would put our masks on. Without giving us a chance to respond, she said, in a very condescending tone, "all you have is scarves, really?" We had no problem avoiding the reindeer experience by not wearing masks. The problem we have is the condescending way this woman handled the situation. She only escalated the situation. Otherwise we would have politely said "no thanks" and kept going. Some in my family have a breathing disability which makes it difficult to wear the masks while exerting physical energy. Thanksgiving Point, and their employees, need to understand that there are some people that simply cannot wear the masks at all times. It is inexcusable to treat paying patrons the way this woman did by talking down to us in such a condescending manner. Of Course we had our masks with us and of course we wore them when in the building and inside the green house. She didn't even give us an opportunity to explain ourselves. It ruined our entire experience and we will not be returning next year.
