Buyers need to know up front the fees that they add to their online listings, sale price $11900 ends up being $14400 with the "package fee" "doc fee" license fee" almost $2500 added, and that's without sales tax.

I would not recommend this dealership for service if you need help with anything you know is possibly a warranty issue. They do not like to help with warranty claims. I have an issue with my car and before I could even finish explaining what had been going on they had come up with a reason why they would not be covering it. I called Nissan directly to see if they would be any help and this dealership also convinced them that it is not a warranty issue. I will be taking my business elsewhere for any warranty claims in the future in the hopes that I am actually listened to and not just told that I am wrong. Ken Garff may "Hear You" they just don't care.

I've edited my review now that I've had some time to think of the pros and cons honestly.
Pros: I especially appreciated our salesman Isaac's friendly demeanor and answering all of our questions! He was great. It's nice that I can charge my electric car for free at the dealership as well.
I really enjoy the car I bought and so far it appears to be working as expected. Matches the description I saw online, and I remember that making the appointment was quick and easy.
What I did not like was the very expensive Plad tech plan ($800+ after negotiated down to the bare minimum) that you cannot remove from the car purchase.
I also didn't like that the home car charger was not given to me with the sale of the electric car, since they didn't have it, and I had to wait multiple weeks for the old owner to finally get around to providing it. They told me if she didn't provide it within a certain time, (just a few days) they would just send me a new one. This didn't happen, so I could not charge my car at home for a while. I was at the mercy of some random person going out of town and I'm sure giving away her charger was not a priority. I had to be a squeaky wheel and periodically ask about it.
When I called to check on my plates, worried that the temporaries were going to expire, the woman I spoke to was kind of aloof and told me she would call me the next day with an update but never did. That kind of bothered me. At this point I was tired of hounding the dealership. She or someone else did eventually call me to let me know when they were ready, about a month later.
So overall what is lacking is the followup and timeliness. I did my best to be patient with that, but I'm not sure it's my responsibility to constantly call them every day. I would suggest that if there is a necessary piece that comes with the car, please make sure you have it for the new customer.

The team (Logan in particular) was great to deal with - he was very responsive and had great knowledge about the cars I was looking at, not to mention very professional. I will definitely recommend others here as well!

Mostly good experiences. Some times they just seem a little cold. Services are more expensive here. The gentleman who helped me was also just a machine and came off cold. I think while I was waiting for parts they just filled up my tire real quick before I drove off the lot, when it would have been nice if they had at that time taken the time to actually see if the tire was worth patching up until the new tires came in. This service is free for me at other places. So going the extra mile would have been appreciated. I was already paying them for a service later that week. And they had the knowledge that my tires were low. That'd be my suggestion for how to better treat loyal customers.

The "certified" part of certified pre-owned is a deceptive claim. I purchased a Pathfinder less than a year ago, and recently took it in for a dead trailer light plug. I was informed that the fuse box that holds the trailer fuses was not mounted under the hood. Not that the fuse box was mounted improperly - it WASN'T mounted at all, just sitting loose under the hood. This was certainly the case when I purchased the car, and because of their negligence, the entire box and its wiring were badly damaged and needed complete replacement. I called numerous times to multiple people, and was ultimately told that I was still responsible to pay for the damage. After being promised a significant discount, my final bill was brought down from $3,500 to $2,100. It was beyond disappointing, and insulting that I should be held financially responsible for a mistake that had nothing to do with me. I've owned the car for less than a year, and yet the dealership won't take accountability for their mistake. I strongly recommend taking their "certified" claim with a HUGE grain of salt, and wouldn't expect them to catch serious mistakes during their inspections.

Prior to coming here, I tried to work with Ken Garff Chevy in American Fork. I spoke to a saleswoman there (McKenna I believe) over the course of a work week who agreed to help me get a vehicle there from another Ken Garff dealership to test drive. Only, when I showed up at the Chevy dealership on Saturday at my schedule time, she was sick and nobody had any clue about my appointment.
Fast forward a week and I'm excited to go test drive, and very likely purchase, a new Escape the this dealership, Ken Garff Nissan in Salt Lake, had just gotten in.
I arrived early to my appointment and the salesman set me up with a newer kid. After the test drive, the new kid started asking me fairly standard questions. Having done a fair amount of research on how to navigate auto dealerships, I was reluctant to answer them, at which point he retrieved the sales manager.
A guy named Mike shows up and starts asking the same questions, "What's your credit?" What do you want for monthly payments?" "What type of loan are you looking for?" etc.
I informed him that I had already worked out financing with the bank and just wanted to talk about the price of the car. His response was to ask my how the bank could possibly know what they would charge for tax, title, license, GAP insurance, clear coat protections, mandatory warranties, and so on?
I told him I was only legally obligated to pay tax, title, and license, and anything extra I refused to pay. At which point he literally told me, "then I refuse to do business with you and you can get the hell out of my dealership."
Which I gladly did. I highly advise that you educate yourself before shopping here, but beware that if you are educated, you'll likely end up at another dealership.
Sad part is, they'll probably respond to this post with the same canned response that I've seen on all the others but for those of you who value reviews and word of mouth, avoid these dealerships at all cost. Especially Ken Garff Nissan.
Ken Garff says they're listening but I think their ears must be clogged because I don't think they're hearing damn thing.

My wife shopped for a new car at two dealers in SLC and had very negative experiences. Bait and switch. Hard, hard sell of financing and extended warranties, neither of which she wanted. Condescending and and offensive. She walked out both times. We decided to try Ken Garff in downtown SLC, even though it's not a very convenient location for us. We agreed on the car and price and all was well until they realized the salesperson had made a crucial but inadvertent error and had underpriced the car by $3000. I'm the suspicious type, but I believed her. More importantly, they acknowledged it was their error and gave it to us for the lower cost, which was about zero margin for the dealer. Anyway, what could have been another disaster turned out very positively. Nice job by the Ken Garff Nissan team.

Brad in service was AMAZING to work with. Being out of town trying to deal with a transmission repair could have been an absolute nightmare. However Brad was transparent, and was in constant communication. The car was repaired quickly, and payment and picking up the car went just as easily. Living in Wisconsin, I wish our service advisors here could take some lessons on listening to the customer. Thanks again Brad! Keep up the fantastic work!

I recently had an experience with this dealership that I was very impressed with & wanted to share. In particular, Logan (sales) & Nick (finance) did an amazing job to get us a very good deal on the vehicle we were interested in. They definitely worked hard for us to provide what was a very fair and advantageous deal for all involved. In every way, they were professional, kind, courteous and patient. Unfortunately, largely due to oversight on my part, some details did not work out & we didn't wind up purchasing the vehicle. Impressively, throughout the entire experience, Logan, Nick and the staff at Ken Garff were honest, upfront, great to deal with and handled the entire situation with great integrity-which was impressive, admirable & much appreciated. Even though it didn't work out this time, I wouldn't hesitate to work with Logan, Nick & this dealership in the future when I need a vehicle & I would recommend them to anyone & everyone I know as they are true professionals that treat people with respect & courtesy. Above all, they do the right thing & can be trusted by their customers, as well as, their employers. Thank you for a great experience-we will not forget it & will be happy to seek them out when we need our next vehicle.
