This church is amazing! It is all about Jesus. If you want the feel hope, light, and love, go here! It's not about what you've heard about this church, it's about trying it and seeing how it makes you FEEL. If you try it with an open heart and mind, you might be surprised and walk away feeling peace. The Lord can't help a closed heart.

This is one of the original chapels of the Church in Salt Lake ! I love attending and feeling the Spirit, plus learning about the Savior, Jesus Christ. You should come!

Wow it seems to me the Mormon church receives a lot more criticism than what it deserves. Although I am not on the either side. I agree the Mormon church and just the people in itself can be very idealistic. I have been raised in the church my whole life and have never felt completely devoted to it and there was always a lot of questioning of whether this church is true. After extensive research, studying, and praying I believe that what once a true church has now become corrupt. The people are not focused on what they should be, Christ. They are worshippers of prophets. My parents used to be youth Sunday school teachers and I remember my mom telling me once that the stake president came up to them and told my parents to stop teaching from the Bible but from the youth handbook and if they have questions to turn to some of the booklets the church provided. Why in the world a person of such high authority would tell people to stop teaching from the bible (The word of God!) but instead use what they have provided (Man's words) I cannot understand. When my parents did not do as he said they were released and we have not been to church since. I agree with many of you. The church teaches many wrong things (including things like "If you do not go to church you are going to hell"), but at the same time they teach many good things as well. If I was not raised in the church I worry what would've become of me. They have helped me understand how good it is to live through life with high morals and true faith in Christ. It also allowed me to meet some of the greatest friends I have ever had. I think the best happy medium for me was attending the churches seminaries (Although you have to be careful with which ones you go to sometimes, during covid one was very rude to me for not wearing a mask but another very accepting). Seminary taught me how to study the scriptures with real intent and my seminary really helped me with all the questions I had about God. Moral of the story? I'm not sure really, I'm still trying to figure that out. I do not think most people have quite as horrible of an experience as some of these people have described. It really is a loving community but I still think they are working on the accepting side of things. Side note, Joseph Smith was never a polygamist. There is REAL evidence that Brigham Young actually helped to plot Jospeh Smith's murder and after he was dead indoctrinated the people with false beliefs and changed parts of the Doctrine and Covenants so that HE could live a life of polygamy. I truly believe Joseph Smith was a good God trusting man and that Brigham Young was the start of all corruption in the church. Joseph Smith never was a polygamist, never taught it, and never put it in D&C.

The Salt Lake City 8th Ward meeting house. One of the original 19 SLC Wards from the 19th century. A classic. Still operational. Only a few of these meetinghouses remain.

Fantastic visit. One of the original church Ward buildings. Classic style with the older pews that gave it a warm feel. I couldn’t help thinking of all those who sat where I was sitting over the years. I was glad to be in the area for Sacrament meeting and to listen to the talk given that day. Aloha.

We were welcomed, many members came and introduced themselves. The building is absolutely gorgeous, very unique. It was built in 1920. It was a great experience to share with my daughter. We can't come wait to come back to this area.
