I took my husband to Benchmark books as he was looking for a certain book. They were anxious to help him find the books he wanted. He left with 3. The gentleman who helped him was very helpful and knowledgeable! We will definitely shop Benchmark Books again!

I had heard of this bookstore from a booth at a conference and wanted to shop locally when convenient, so I thought I'd stop by when I didn't want to wait for a book to be shipped and I was passing the area.Do not expect a regular bookstore when you go here. It's pretty run down, messy (full of stacks of books around the checkout area, boxes in the middle of the aisle, etc.) and they didn't have books by Todd Compton or Whitney Horning, when I stopped by yesterday, in the used or new sections organized alphabetically by author's last name.I wasn't greeted or asked if I needed help finding anything and the clerk didn't bother pausing his conversations with some seeming hobbyist book collectors to do so, so I left when I couldn't find what I was looking for. I'll stick to other places that are organized better and more friendly or just keep getting my books shipped. Oh, well.

I went to find art books on specific painters. Though you wouldn’t think it, the store had many art related books particularly of regional and local artists. The attendant kept coming up with various art related books that were so different than other places because of the highly regional slanting of this book store. Very helpful particularly because I gave them what initially seemed like a difficult task.

I was looking for a specific book and was ecstatic to receive a copy in pristine, practically new condition. If it weren't for a previous owner underlining a couple things in the foreword, you'd never know I bought it used. It arrived in a timely manner and I was even able to correspond with a staff member with a question I had. Wonderful, even from out of state.

Chris and Bryce are rockstars of the used book scene. I've been buying and selling there for probably 20 years. I always find something to take home for a decent price. Not to mention that they have filled requests of mine once my particular request came available, even after I have long forgotten. They never forget.

I wanted to order a study guide for the New Testament. that book has been back ordered on every website I could find...except Benchmark Book. Also I ordered my book Friday morning emailed ti check on the order. they got back to me Monday to let me know it was OUT FOR DELIVERY!!! I am floored by their amazing service and carried literally what no one else had. So awesome. Thank you Benchmark Books.

This bookstore is a local institution. So sorry about the passing of Curt, the founder, who was a knowledgeable and kind person. Fortunately, it is in great hands with his son Chris and staff who are also extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and kind. This is a mandatory visit if you are in the market for LDS and Utah or Western Americana whether common or rare.
