I rented a car from AVR for 12 days but got a flat tire in the middle of my trip. They refuse to send roadside assistance. I have had enough to hours of phone calls without any solution. Please skip this awful one.

This is the absolute worst company I’ve ever had to deal with. Not just van rental company just worst company ever. Terrible customer service. I called for a simple confirmation email and was screamed at over the phone by the gentleman answering phones and then hung up on and when I called back to do something about it they said they couldn’t do anything about the mistreatment. This place is horrible. You’re better off walking wherever you need to go. I will be telling everyone I know to never do business here.

Zero Stars. In case you are ever considering renting a van from Airport Van Rentals, just don't. We booked and paid for our rental in April for our July trip. Two days before our trip, they cancelled our reservation. (Pretty sure they were hoping WE would cancel, then they wouldn't have to refund us, but we didn't and the SLC location is closed due to COVID, so they had to). We were told our refund would be issued within 10 days. It actually took nearly SIX WEEKS and it only happened because of a dozen emails, half dozen phone calls, filling out the wrong form they sent, filling out the right form they sent and generally pestering them every day for the last week, including threatening to get our credit card company involved on our behalf. What an actual mess! So, please, just never rent from them.

be careful renting from them - read their contract very carefully. If you return your car a bit late, they will charge you double you at the end, (or their regular rate). You could ask them to return it back to you, but why you need this hassle?

Out of the 3 times we have rented from here there was only someone in the office once. We have to always wait 10 to 15 min for someone to show up. Our Dodge minivan had really bad wipers so we had to replace them, but we were given our money back for those upon return. We've rented 2 mini Vans and 1 SUV. All have been perfect for our traveling needs and fairly priced as well compared to other local rentals. For now this is where we will continue to rent. If only check in and out could be a little faster that would be nice.

If I could do zero stars I would!! This company was HORRIBLE! First, when I made the reservation I made sure that I was booking from a company at the airport, it shows specifically "San Diego airport" for the address. We got there, found out that the company is not on site, waited for an hour for someone to pick us up. When we called to say we were waiting for pick up we informed them that we had 11 people. When they arrived they informed us only 9 could be picked up, that at least 2 would have to wait at the airport while we picked up the vans, to have go back and get them. The process at their actual site to pick up the van was awful. The ladies were not nice. They charged a $201.11 deposit, not just a pending charge, which I would understand, but actually took the money from my account, then credited back $200. I know it's a small difference, but it's the point of it. This company was horrible. I wish I would have read the reviews before booking them. NEVER AGAIN!!!

It went from being an affordable rental to charging an extra $200 dollars over what the Travelocity Total rental quote was! The guy at the desk was unhelpful and unable to look you in the eyes, what they gave us is a clear contract from Travelocity but they say they have different prices from Travelocity!!! Travelocity’s contract clearly says that all fees and taxes are included in total, then why are they charging and extra $200+ of “other” fees? So why would I even try renting again online or through Travelocity again?! Never from AVR, very unhelpful and dismissive manager!

It’s 1:45pm Saturday. I Have a schedule pick up for 8am Sunday. They have just called to tell me they have no more cars available.
Wish I would’ve gone with another company from the beginning - now I’m looking at paying almost double because it’s so close to the date.

Excellent help when pickng up the van.
Total process approximately 25 minutes.
Vehicle worked well, as expected.
Dropped off 65 min past the pick up time, 35 min past the 30-min grace period, and was charged for an additional day instead of one hour, as per the terms.
Plus the person had no decision making power to adjust the fee. It felt like I was dealing w a computer instead of an actual person.
With so many options to rent a large mini van, I will opt for Enterprise next time.
