I will not be going back to America's Best. I don't trust them.
The optometrist was very good and knew his stuff. He did an exam for progressive lenses, my first time trying them, but when the glasses came in, not a single part of the lenses were in focus.
They kept claiming that my brain needed to adjust to the new prescription (two different senior people were saying this), which is a load of nonsense. They're either in focus or they're not. If my brain could adjust to a prescription that is not in focus, then I would never need to get new glasses with a new prescription. My brain would just adjust, right?
They kept acting like I was nuts but finally agreed to redo them after I revisited the optometrist. After doing a second exam, he confirmed that his initial exam was accurate. They said they would redo them for free, acting like they were doing me a favor, like somehow it was my fault, but they were being nice. That p***** me off.
The new lenses came in, and they were in focus and sharp. It turns out that the first time, they had put the iris location down towards the bottom of the lenses when they should have been up towards the top. Apparently, changing that fixed the problem. That was a mistake made by the front-end staff. The girl who initially measured the iris location seemed to be new, and I guess just didn't know what she was doing and messed it up.
The second time around, the person handling it all was one of the senior people who initially told me that my brain needed to adjust. I told her I understood what she was talking about by the brain needing to adjust, which has nothing to do with the lenses being in focus, but that the brain has to adjust to how things move weird when you first wear glasses, or change from contacts to glasses, and vice versa. She got annoyed by that and disagreed with me. I told her I've been wearing glasses and contacts for 55 years, and I know how it works. She seemed to get more annoyed and walked away, not talking to me again after that.
So... I won't be going back because I can't trust that the staff knows anything about wearing glasses. I suspect that the most senior guy in the store, who was one of the two senior people I talked to initially, misunderstood what it means for the brain needing to adjust and pushed his incorrect understanding onto everyone else in the store, resulting in them disagreeing with me when I tried explaining it. It was certainly obvious that they had no idea what they were talking about.
When I first went in to get my glasses, I had to wait for this senior guy to finish talking to another woman who was complaining about the exact same problem I was having, nothing being in focus. I felt sorry for her because they convinced her that she was wrong, and she ended up leaving with her messed-up glasses.
I very definitely can not recommend America's Best.

I have 2 pairs of glasses which I had not bought from America's Best that needed adjusting. I called the Brickyard location and spoke with Kim who told me to come on down. I arrived later and was greeted by Kim who adjusted and cleaned both pairs all while maintaining a happy respectful friendly professional demeanor. No charge. Since I will at some point in the near future be in need of a new optometry shop, I will definitely be patronizing America's Best Brickyard. As a side thought, I hope Kim's dentist appointment went well today...

After an incredibly dismal experience with the insanely rude manager at the midvale location (his name is John, do NOT go to that location), I decided to try my luck at the brickyard location. The assistant manager was so sweet and friendly, and she did not hesitate to answer any questions I had. She also listened to my rant about the awful midvale location and was very sympathetic. You guys should come here for glasses! For the life of me, I can’t remember the assistant manager’s name, but she was incredibly kind and helpful.

They are nice when they speak to you but they make you wait sooo long for no reason. Waiting in the waiting room as I type this. 50 minutes wasted and still no appointment, already 3 new grey hairs, losing circulation in my feet, losing my mind. Don’t use this location if you value your mental health.

I truly with I could give this place a zero star review. After being a good and loyal customer for 15 years, they show no respect. They have THE WORST customer service I have ever experienced. I broke my glasses and am not able to get to them to get a new eye exam as my prescription expired 2 months ago... I asked if my mother could go pick up a trial pair of contacts so I am able to get to the eye doctor and get an exam. They were out of my contacts so I was told to call another location and see if they have them. I called another location who told me if they would just go back and ask the doctor I would more than likely be able to get an extension on my prescription and order new glasses and get contacts to hold me over. I called back to the Brickyard location and spoke with Kim, who has no etiquette or social skills in the customer service line and told me she would not speak to the doctor for me. I will never ever come back to this place, it has been the worst customer service I have ever experienced with each visit but this pushed me over the edge. If you like being treated poorly and enjoy having no help from anyone in there then I would recommend this tragic excuse for a doctors office.

I received Great service at the America's Best Eyecare at 1140 Brickyard Rd., Salt Lake City, Utah. Anna, an excellent young Associate, spent 40 minutes contacting my insurance coverage, & showing me a lot of possible frames and lenses. They have thousands of combinations of frames, lens types & treatments. I did not wait at all, though I got there at 5:45, a busy time. This is my optometry store from now on, and I highly recommend them!

This location seems to have an issue with time management and organization. I waited for an hour and was not addressed for my appointment. Including other patients being addressed before me who checked in after me. I was not early for my appointment I was exactly 10 minutes early like instructed. Then when I tried to cancel my appointment I was ignored by the entire front staff. There were several of us needing to be addressed and not a single staff member looked up. Waited for other 10 minutes before someone asked if I had been helped yet. Not a medically professional clinic.

I went in a few weeks ago to get new noise pieces on my glasses. The lady (Brandy I think) that fixed them for me went above and beyond and fixed am issue that I'd been having! There was also a young lady (I foothold her name! Sorry! ) that answered allot of insurance questions that I had! Top notch employees!

I absolutely loved this location ❤️ I've been a steady customer with AB for over 20 years & I have never been so cared for as I was at this location! I was a walk-in & immediately greeted. Both techs Mittie & Kennedy were so easy to talk with & put me at ease while being super informative throughout the time I was with them. Dr Amy Steinman was so personable & friendly, really detailed & easy to understand all the information & suggestions for better eye care! Mukinzy & Angelica were patient while I chose my frames & went over multiple priced options so I could make the best choice for me! I'm so happy to finally be getting prescription sunglasses & not break my bank! Big thank you to all the ladies for helping to make sure that I felt heard!! Even if it's an extra 10 minutes to get here, do yourself a favor & make sure to go to this location!! ?
