This place so much fun! What a great date, daddy daughter date, take the kids, girls night out or anything. You pick from hundreds of different molds, tons of scent, and paint. It is fun to try something new and be creative. You really get to make it your own and the price is amazing. $6 per person and 6 cents per ounce of soap you use. Then super fun for adults and kids to use their own soap later. Definitely will be going back.

First of all, if WE can make soaps that not only look like their mold but turn out quite cute, then ANYONE can successfully participate in this fun, creative date night activity! The Soap Factory has a great ambiance, reasonable prices, and exceptional staff that even let us stay after hours a bit to finish our soap. Also, we had so much fun, and appreciated the games they provide for while you wait on your soap to chill.

We spent about $35 for our one (1) seven year old child to participate and make his own soaps. You might walk in thinking you'd be making a small simple piece of soap, but truth be told, as as anticipated, children like to have fun and that fun comes with a price tag. It's about a 1+ hour process to make soap and getting a few pieces (as they charge by weight), you can easily expect to spend $30+ here. It's a unique experience overall 'tho.

Cute and simple. It's definitely a hole in the wall. My husband and I enjoyed our date there, but we both felt the process was a little quick. The prices seemed fair. I wish they had more scent options. Overall, I WOULD recommend it for a date night. :)

These guys are absolutely amazing!! I came here with my fiance on our first date and came back to propose, which I might add was a day they were closed. But they opened for the special occasion! 10/10 and tbh making soap is super fun. Whether your first date or your 100th, this place deserves a stop!!

This shop is a total hole-in-the-wall craft factory! It’s kind of hard to find because the donut shop and the wall of the building cover it; but you do go up a huge flight of stairs. They have tons of molds like Bundt cakes, Star Wars, hearts, you name it.You have the steps on little cards to help you. it’s a very self guided type of place which I love. It’s a $6 lab fee plus $.06/gram of soap material. You get to pick scents, dye and paint them and then at the end they spray something that makes your soap shiny! The scents are what look like Doterra or similar so if that’s a no from you it’s not a requirement to scent the soap.I brought my 6-year old here and he loved his AT-AT! He did well with the process since it allows even the smallest of humans to be independent. All he needed help with was pouring the actual soap because it’s pretty warm.I did this as a day date as well, and it was so much fun to bring a huge group with! I’d recommend for high school kids who want a cheap but epic date, for 2 people doing medium soaps and lab fees it was $16.This is the only type of crafting I’d suggest doing more than once over things like candle making or perfumes because it’s quicker, less prone to make you have a headache, and doesn’t require a load of attention from the employees. These soaps and lab fees were $40 total roughly! (4 people)We were there for just over an hour, they have games to entertain you while the soap is cooling so you don’t have a ton of downtime but you will still sit for a good 10 minutes.

This was perfect for my pre teen who loves to create, mix, in her own way. This was such a fun outing & simple process. We were helped through the whole process but enough space to create & not be rushed.

I went to the soap factory around 6:40 and left about 9:40. The Soap Factory is on the second floor, so you go upstairs to get to the area where you make soap. I went with a group of 6, so it did take a little longer. There was only one worker when we went, and he was pretty busy. The wait for soap was about 10 minutes. He was super nice and tried to help everyone as quickly as he could. They accept walk-ins until a minute before closing at 8:59. They prefer groups of 8 or larger call ahead of time to reserve space for their party. You can buy soap that is already made with the soap you make. The lab fee per person is $6. The soaps are priced by weight. After you are done with the soap molds, the wait time is about 15-20 minutes. During that time, you can play games at your table, color, or walk to the other stores on the street. We went to Bianca's La Petite French Bakery a couple doors down.

Such a fun and inexpensive experience! My friend and I went here, and were able to start on the soaps right away. Some people complain about wait times, but I think they are a small business with not a lot of employees. The employees were kind and helped us out when we needed it. Making the soap was so fun, and did not break the bank. Would definitely do this again!

I would highly recommend the Soap Factory for anyone looking for a fun family activity, cheap date night, or cool way to kill some time in downtown Provo. Though there was only one person working the majority of the time I was there, we had fairly short wait times and the employee was very kind and went out of his way to be helpful. They have a very large variety of colors, moulds, scents, and mix-ins (such as sugar, salt, and coffee grounds) to add to the soap. They also have the option to paint details on to the soap, which I thought was very fun! The experience lasted about an hour and half and only cost $20 for two people.

Poor customer service and communication. I think the idea is cute and there was a good variety in molds, colors, and essential oils, but most of the molds were dirty from previous soaps made. Staff stayed in the back room for 95% of the time. Once our soaps were done it took at least half an hour of waiting just to be checked out. It could’ve taken us an hour to be done but because we were waiting for them through the whole process it took 2 1/2 hours. It would’ve been worth the price if it was a good experience.

Such a fun date night place. It wasn't too busy on a week night. There were games to play while waiting for our soaps too cool down. They also had great friendly staff, shout out to Jonathan!
