Wish i could give zero stars. Used to be a good host, but went to a really bad one. My website got downgraded (!) to a very slow server in England, for 6 days none of my support tickets even have been opened. Support chat kicks me out every time ( tried for 1.5 hours).
So, basically, there is NO SUPPORT

Absolutely horrible! I signed up with their email service and went to their FAQ to see how to setup my custom email with my Gmail account. Well, the video that is suppose to be there says 'Video Unavailable' meaning the video was deleted and never updated. Very bad sign they don't have an update help section. The worst of the worst was that their server which hosts their webmail interface went down within 30 minutes of opening my account. I was getting all sorts of errors where I couldn't login but just did 15 minutes prior. So I asked for a refund. When I spoke with customer service via chat (they don't allow phone calls, btw) they told me I have to contact them again on Monday to get a refund...Don't use this company. So many more options out there.

I have been a WestHost client for the last 8 years and their reliability and customer service has gone downhill in a big way. My site has been down for more than 24 hours on more than 3 occasions in the last 6 months. Their customer service is the worst!! Very rude and condescending. If I could give them less than a one star rating I would. I wouldn't recommend WestHost if they were the last hosting company on earth.

Just canceled my service with them and was shocked how little they cared. The entire issue was that I could not find a web developer that would work with them and was asking to a referral so I could get my site built and they said "I just handle customer accounts I can't help you" I asked if they could go ask a supervisor so I wouldn't have to cancel and he said "they wont be able to help you either."

I wish I would have read the reviews before I signed up with them. I like to use try to use local businesses as much as possible but these guys are an absolute joke and are not helpful in any way. I have called several times to get issues resolved and have been told "I don't know know maybe google it and it will help you" Guess what guys google cant tell me why you guys are scam artists all they can tell me is that you are.

As a former employee, let me tell you a secret. No, you cannot ask to speak with a manager. Management has instructed technicians to not forward calls to them. You will almost ALWAYS be told they are in a meeting, at lunch, or otherwise out of the office. You will only be able to talk to the front line support, and no one else, unless you are connected, or are very pushy and the technician capitulates.

I was a WestHost member for 10 years. But then the server on which my 14 websites were located went down including it's redundancy (or perhaps they had no redundancy). They claimed they restored all accounts to the new server from backup. However, none of my sites were ever copied over. I had to call them and wait 20 minutes to get someone to actually restore my sites (which they had publicly told everyone they had already done). Then I later discovered that all but 5 of my email accounts were also deleted and not restored. I cancelled my account but they would not refund any money that I had paid in advance. I don't know if there was a change in management or ownership, but their customer service just took a nose dive.
