My baby, Jasper, is very shy and aggressive when it comes to the vets. They were so understanding and still took care of him like he was just as precious to them as he was to me. I appreciate them so much for all that they did for my boy and do for all the other animals in town. It's unfortunate Jasper cannot see them due to moving but I miss them so much!

Friendly staff but somewhat unprofessional. I am a new dog owner and would have loved to have a minute to talk about my pet with the vet. Instead, money was collected before services were performed and shots were administered right in the lobby while I was still wrapping up my payment and scheduling the next visit. The shots were administered by someone who did not appear to know what they were doing. No sign of the actual veterinarian even though it appeared that I was the only customer in the building. No weight was taken and recorded. It was a weird experience all around. I sure miss the old owners. Disappointed. I hate to switch, and hope my next visit will be better.

My son has a Yorkie. He started behaving differently out of nowhere and we wanted him to be under constant care. So we decided to take him to my parents. They have time, space and all the love to give. I set up an appointment to have him looked at and here's where everything went " to the dogs."The staff was moderately tough to deal with. Perhaps a new employee but I'm leaning towards poor training. Doc. runs some tests and finds out our doggie is diabetic. Based on what he finds he recommends putting our Yorkie down. He tells me that he'll be lucky to live 6/8wks on insulin. But then starts to offer up his personal opinion about my mother and her abilities. I'm like, mister if you knew anything about my mom. But I let him talk because he's coming off pretentious and extremely arrogant, I figure what's the point of interrupting his mind was already made up about our dog and my capable mom. The phone call ends. I call around and find out that I can get insulin for our Yorkie, I do so. But not without being told I can't have the medical records unless I do insulin therapy through their office. It takes a few days but we get the insulin and life goes on. I want everyone to know that this was around 8/9 months ago and our doggie is doing great! We could've listened to Captain Arrogance and youthanized a family member. Very, very grateful I chose not to. Yes, this was my experience and yours may be entirely different. I hope it is. Regardless, you should always get a second opinion or go with your gut. Fortunately for me. His arrogance, ignorance and lack of compassion was far more than I needed to send his opinion to the pound.

We recently had to put our 16 year-old dog to sleep and the entire staff here were so kind. From the front desk to Dr. Harmer, everyone was very considerate of us, they explained the process and allowed us all of the time we needed. We have always been treated well here and so have our many four-legged fur babies.

TAKE YOUR PETS LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!!Figured I would update my review, since my previous review was from back when there was a veterinarian at this facility who cared and wasn't too lazy to do his job. Last time I was there, the same scenario played out. Told me to euthanize my kitty, Hugo who just needed extra help... he's happy and healthy now, no thanks to harmer.Today, 7/27/23 I brought in a stray who had a wound on one of his front legs. I brought him in to be bandaged, whatever he needed for his arm. My plan was to take him home.Harmer is great when it comes to manipulation, almost had me convinced that this kitty, with an arm wound needed to be euthanized. What his list of reasons boiled down to was "I'm too lazy to really care"He said he is too wild to treat, even after sedation. Yeah, I get it, cats, especially stray cats, don't like the vet; But it's not like in any scenario he was going to just sit there and let them mess with a wound that hurts him, in a new, scary place, surrounded by people he doesn't know.He didn't even bother to bandage him, and when he brought him in, all but chucked this poor, sedated kitty on the ground towards me.... I picked him up and he snuggled into my arms.... he didn't fight me.The plan was, to sedate him, he'd fall asleep, and harmer would give him the final shot to send him on. This kitty wanted to live. He refused to fall asleep, curled in my arms... then some lady thinks this is the perfect time to come talk down to me about some outstanding bill I have. Could have called me at any point, but no, let's choose when I'm a sobbing mess, holding a kitty that they want to euthanize.Long story short, the kitty, I've named Phillip, is at home with me, bandaged up, and taking a snooze by my side.I will never go back to him, and I urge others to do the same. I've heard plenty of horror stories about harmer, but this was the final straw for me. Call Carbon and Emery County Vet instead.

I do not recommend this vet he has told multiple thing that should have not been said to pet like you should just put it down cuz it won’t make it and it’s for something that’s not life threatening like come on have some compassion with ur customers and maybe they won’t have to change to a different get! And maybe do what u are scheduled for and not push them on to some one else if u don’t feel like u can handle the appointment then just tell ur customer u don’t think u can handle it so they can find some where else to go and not have to show up at ur office and ur staff have to figure out something else for them because u can’t handle the appointment just be up front with the customer from the very beginning

Would not recommend sending your pets to Dr. Harmer. My family and I have given him multiple chances - none of us have been impressed whatsoever. Our senior dog a few years ago began having kidney troubles - Dr. Harmer basically told us that there was nothing we could do except put her down. I asked for a second opinion from Dr. Thayn, he got her set up on some specialty food and sent us on our way. She ended up living for another year and a half. Funny how when you do your job, things work out the best for your pets. The last straw for us was when I called on behalf of an emergency with our cat last week. We were bluntly told that they had no openings until July 10th, no exceptions. Emergencies happen, make a better effort to assist those that need help. Called Emery Animal Health and were in a room within a matter of minutes of arriving.

Dr Harmer should not be able to practice. He almost killed my friends dog and had no bed side manner about the deceased puppy. I have heard horror stories about this man.
