Rude staffs, staffs have poor knowledge of ski boots. Don’t ever do boot fitting here! This store should be removed from a such good ski resort. zero ⭐️ . Thanks for waste my time and ruin my day.

Great service! Rental ski shops are pretty frenetic - our rentals were handled smoothly and quick. Matt was awesome, re-fitted and changed out boots after a 1/2 day. The 2nd fit were the best rental boots I've worn. Recommend!

Always a good experience here. Recently needed some goggles and they were the same prices online. Not true with the cliff bars lol!

I tested a ski in two different sizes to see which one (if either) worked. The staff was super helpful and supportive and they got me in and out quickly. Super friendly and knowledgeable. And yes, I bought a pair of skis. And love them!!Try before you buy!!!

Recommend AVOIDING AT ALL COSTS.My family and I have been going to Deer Valley for many years, and during that time we would always get our ski equipment from Jans. In all, I believe we purchased five whole ski sets (e.g., skis, boots, custom boot insoles, helmets, goggles, poles, gloves) and a large number of other items.A few years ago, we purchased two whole ski sets - including my first pair of ski boots and custom boot insoles. At the time of the purchase, I recall mentioning how the boots seemed rather snug and was told that they should be the right size. From then on, I had severe feet pain every time I went skiing. I thought that I was perhaps still breaking in the boots - but it turned out that was not the case (at all).I went and asked Jans for help with the boots and foot pain the next day, and probably no less than 10 times over the next few years.Jans responded in a variety of ways - including (i) that it was because I was wearing too thick of ski socks and so I needed to buy some of theirs (which I did on two different occasions); (ii) that it was actually my skiing style that was the fault and not the boot (which on one occasion lead them to strap on strips of plastic to my skis to try and (somehow) fix); (iii) that I just needed the boots to be warmed or the insoles reshaped (which I did on a few occasions); and/or (iv) that the boot was the right size and so it was either (i), (ii) and/or (iii) that was the issue (or some other excuse I have since forgotten).During these years, I lost approximately 6 or 7 big toe nails (sometimes together or sometimes one at a time) and my foot was always in extreme pain while skiing.A few weeks ago, I was skiing with a group of friends and, as always, I immediately had immense foot pain. The group knowing well the horrid tales of these boots, insisted that I return to Jans and try and rent another pair of boots.I went to Jans, and after about 30 minutes of waiting explained a polite version of the above and mentioned how we had been going to Jans for many years (including buying my wife a new ski set a few months ago). I asked if they could take a look and/or if I could test some other boots that I would then buy if they worked. I was curtly told that they only way they could help me is if I bought a new pair of boots and that I should wait until they have someone to assist me.With this final disappoint, I proceeded to the Deer Valley ski rental store (which I had gone to countless time while growing up - with no issues whatsoever). I explained the situation, and they saw that I had been wearing a size 280mm from Jans. They promptly measured my foot and said no wonder I was having pain - my foot was much bigger than 280mm (~288mm) and that I should be in at least a 295mm. My foot size has not changed in well over 15 years.I admit that I am also at fault here for not addressing the issue more head on over the years, waiting to get a second opinion until I had lost a number of big toe nails, not focusing on them actually measuring my feet and so on.I had trusted that Jans were "professionals" who knew what they were doing (much more so than me) and so I put (way) too much trust into them. In hindsight, I believe they likely did not have my size when I first bought it and wanted to make a sale of two whole ski sets at the end of the ski season. We will never return, and would recommend the same.EDIT:I shared this post with some family and friends, and immediately received responses of similar issues (e.g., new boots "way to tight/small"). Thought this was worth sharing, as this incident of sheer incompetence does not appear to be isolated.

Rudest mean girls at the front desk! Complaining about customers while everyone is checking out. Astonishing to have this kind of service at a store at Deer Valley.

I went to Jan’s for help with ski boot fitting. I have a high instep / arch, narrow heel and wide fore foot. I tried to talked to Marty. He talked non-stop and talked over me each time I began to speak. I told him it wasn’t going to work if he didn’t listen to me. He actually started yelling at me. It was such a bad experience, I will never buy another thing at Jan’s.

Unfortunately Jan's never replied to my email about renting skis and I made an incorrect assumption. Folks should note that while Jan's has a location at Deer Valley Snow Park Lodge, they do NOT rent equipment there. You can only rent direct from the resort (double the Jan's cost) at Snow Park Lodge. Jan's is a good rental deal, I'll just need to go to their main store next time. The website rental page could be clearer on this point.

Had very good customer service from Paul with demoing skis, buying skis, and fitting boots. He takes his time with customers. The store is pretty busy being in the resort but I think they do a great job!

I can't say enough about how great and helpful the team is at the Snowpark Jans. I have purchased many items in there(their spring end of year sale is beyond EPIC!)...but they don't know me personally. Last year for Christmas my husband bought me a pair of Serius heated mitts. I think they were around $700. The first week, one of the gloves had issues with the connector. I walked in to replace, but they were out of stock. Scott (so helpful) had an order in and said he would save me a pair, as they sell out almost immediately. He did...and they called when they were in. Then, he gave me a full box of the handwarmers to use until the new gloves came in! Fast forward to Dec 2021. On the mountain...and the glove failed to heat (maybe I should YELP the product!) I went into Jans at Snow Park to see if I could buy new batteries, thinking it was the battery. Scott tested the battery and verified it was the switch. He immediately replaced the gloves with a new pair!! I didn't have my receipt, although I was prepared to find it. No fight, no questions...just YES! That is just how they are! The selection of winter coats and gear is pure luxury....top of the line styles. This is our goto store for gear and gifts. And that..."no, I don't need another ski jacket, but it is soooooo cute!

Deer valley told me that I have a credit that never expires. Now they say that it has expired. Liars. Liars. Pants on fire. Don't go there and don't so there.

After four days of cramping in my new boots I was at the point of tears. Even after several pro adjustments my feet and legs were worse by the day. Was about to give up after three runs and a ski pro recommended seeing Paul Archer at Jan’s in Deer Valley. What a master boot fitter!!! Amazingly knowledgeable, he made it all go away in no time and now I’m happily skiing fresh snow. No cramping in sight. Kind, helpful staff and good selections in general but really, these five stars are all for Paul!

Very hit or miss and inconsistent with the staff. Some are incredibly helpful and friendly, but we had a very negative experience with a cashier. We had purchased expensive gloves for our 4 year old after asking the staff for their recommendation. It was an expensive purchase for us but we wanted to be sure he had warm gloves for his first day of skiing. After a 1 hour lesson, the ski instructor said they were falling off his hands and his age kids need the kind that zip up the arm. We went straight back to Jan’s that afternoon and were told by a very kind employee that we could exchange them with the receipt. We didn’t have it on us but brought it the next morning. When we did so, the cashier gave us an incredibly difficult time about it and was quite rude, even though we were also purchasing 2 pairs of adult gloves. The manager Scott approved the return but was also a bit grumbly about it. It’s a shame that there is so much inconsistency in how the employees treat customers. The rudeness was completely unnecessary. I wouldn’t be writing a review if they had simply said they couldn’t do it kindly. I will not be making more purchases here.
