I rented skis at the location in Silver Lake. Decided to try Elan demo skis for a day. I was told they were "all around good skis" like my usual Blizzard black pearls but they weren't. They wouldn't carve on the icey parts of the slopes. I fell twice and I usually don't fall. The 2nd time my helmet broke and I had to be seen by a medic on the slope. I'm fine except for some bruising on my bottom and pain in my neck but it made me upset that they didn't even offer me a discount for me to get a new helmet or for my next rental. All I know is that I'm never demo-ing skis again. This was my 2nd time demoing skis and it was the 2nd bad experience to convince me that I just should stick with the black pearls.

After over a decade of skiing with my old gear I finally decided it was time to do a full refresh - ski, boots, poles, goggles, bindings, apparel, .. A friend who is local recommended Christy Sports and I looked into it and decided to use their "test" program at the beginning of a ski trip, whereby you basically demo skis for some credit towards purchase. I planned to do this over two days, and purchase at the end of the second day. Long story short, or maybe still long - * the guy who did my boot fitting was AWESOME, his name is Dave, I had confirmed he would be working at the end of my second day when I would come in and purchase * I swapped out my ski on the first day, but apparently the store didn't register that I had intended to have this be a 2d thing. Sitting at lunch on day 2, kids/wife, I let a call from Christy go to VM, first, then I call back. Both the voicemail and my follow-up lead me to the same employee treating me like I'm a deadbeat out of the gate, like I'm part of his peer group and just tried to rip him off, not slowing down to simply ask me what was going on. * returning to the store, the same employee handles my intake, and starts giving me grief about the skis I returned the day before having damage. I thought to myself "dude, I'm not your therapist," - I didn't know about any damage to the ski, and I would have expected there is a process in place that doesn't rely on employees venting at customers. Could I really be the first person to inadvertently damage a rental ski? Come on. There has to be something in the fine print of the contract I signed? At one extreme, I could have been asked to pay for the sub-100$ repair, at the other, they could have let it go in light of the bigger and fully-marked-up sale that was incoming. In either case, I'd expect a DV store/brand to conduct itself with class, right? I did talk to the manager, she mentioned she'd told the guy to cool off, and she tried to keep the focus on the damaged demo ski while she rang me up. A little gruff, I suspect the manager is great handling the day/day chaos of running a busy seasonal location on most days most of the time. I got unlucky and exposed the need for some basic service onboarding / corporate training, perhaps. I left with my great new gear, but feeling icky from having transacted in a gross way. I doubt anything will come of this review, and I do love my skis, love the service I got from the first guy who did my boots, and have to come to laugh about the grumpy guy who lives on forever in my voicemail archive.

Excellent staff always smiling and helpful. Makes the rental experience truly easy and pain-free! Can't wait to see these guys in the summertime for mountain biking.

After my initial review, I got a call from Christy's asking why I gave such a poor review. I appreciate the concern. It shows they are interested in improving, so I am revising my review. It was a holiday weekend, and they were very busy. I would have switched out the equipment, but I was told it would be around an hour to do so, so I just lived with it.

Renting skis and poles from here was easy. There were other places available for less money but Christy Sports was the most professional and friendly when i called on the phone before our trip.The skis were good, adjusted properly in the boots and problem free. I would go back.

Demo'd Armada ARV 106 during a powder day. Christy's has three locations with plenty of ski inventory. The technicians were very knowledgeable and helpful.

Even though the place was busy with Spring Breakers, the staff at Christy Sports was attentive, friendly, and helpful. I returned the next day to upgrade my boots and skis, and they were more than happy to assist. A lovely group of people.

Absolutely Terrible rental operation, I have rented at several other locations in deer valley and park city and would recommend any other shop. Your staff is incredibly rude and inexperienced. They put my son in a pair of boot so big that he actually ejected out of them while at ski school his instructor explained that its not the first time he had seen this type of incompetence from Christy’s rentals. I explained this to the shop and the employees response was “that’s interesting” notI’m sorry for our mistake let’s make it right. I would give 0 starts if possible. They are stuck up and incompetent!
