Baranof went $1000 over budget on our custom engagement ring without ever communicating with us. They regularly ignored our calls and didn't return our texts and voicemails. Multiple times, when I called for updates, the call taker would say "I'll investigate and I promise to call you back by the end of the day"; they never did. They sized my fiancee three times for her ring and still produced a final product that was a full size too small. We were promised about 8 dates of completion that weren't hit- at one point, two and a half weeks turned into over two months. Twice, we were told the ring was done and went in to pick it up, only to find out no one knew what we were talking about. I could go on (as I documented literally every interaction with them), but unfortunately Google has a character limit.I'm absolutely disgusted at the complete lack of professionalism displayed by all of the individuals in this store- namely Tony and Tom. Based on the other reviews, it seems that our experience was not normal and has made me and my fiancee feel as if were singled out to be treated horribly. I would recommend to all to avoid Baranof Jewelers and take your business elsewhere.

I'm going to begin this review by stating that the custom engagement ring we had done at Baranof Jewelers is beautiful. That being said, I will never step foot into one of their stores again and implore you to avoid them as well. A note for the owner- I've been dying to ask you if you treat everyone like this or if there is something special about us. And that's not a rhetorical question. If you are going to respond to this review, people deserve to know if this is routine behavior or if we were singled out. Below, I've detailed how terrible Baranof's treatment of myself and my fiancee was, but the TLDR of it is that they can't provide timing to save their lives, don't return calls, do lie to your face, and don't fulfill promises. In early January, my fiancee and I went in to get her sized for a ring and to start getting a feel for what she likes. In early February, we put down a deposit for a custom engagement ring and were told they'd be done around mid-March. One week later, my fiancee went in to get sized a second time because they had lost the first measurement. Between February 9th and March 15th, after putting down the deposit, I left three messages (two with Tom and one on the machine) asking for any information regarding a timing estimate or progress about the ring. None of these messages were returned. Finally, on March 15th, Tom picked up the phone and told me that he would "investigate". On March 19th, my fiancee received a text that the design was finished. She approved it on March 22nd. On March 30th, she texted the jeweler to see how everything was going and he responded, "confirmation that ring will be completed and be ready for pickup 4/10. We will give you a call within the next week to reconfirm." I don't think I need to tell you that we never received that call. On April 11th, my fiancee sent a text asking if the ring was ready and received no response. I called and was sent to the machine, but didn't bother leaving a message as I simply don't think they check those. The next day, I went into the store to see if the ring was done and was told it was not. The following day (April 13th) my fiancee sent a text to the jeweler. And, as I'm sure you could guess at this point, no answer. I called that evening around 5pm and was told both Tom and Natalie were out. Whoever answered the phone promised to call me back by EOD regardless of if he was able to contact Tom or Natalie. And, obviously, he did not call back. On April 14, we finally received a call that the ring would be ready on Monday, April 17th. Unfortunately, we were out of town and could not go pick up the ring until Monday, April 24th. When we arrived, we found the ring was a full size too smalland left so that they could resize it. On April 26th, we received a call that the resize was done and I went in to pick up the ring, only to find out that they went $1,000 over the approved budget without ever communicating with us. To sum it up in numbers- 1 month over the original deadline, 3 unreturned messages, 3 unreturned texts, 3 sizing appointments, $1,000 over budget, and 2 unfulfilled promises. Fast forward to August 4th when one of the stones fell out while we were out of town. On August 16th, I dropped the ring off for repair and was told that we would have an estimate and timing by EOD. Obviously, we did not receive that call. On August 22nd, I called to get timing and was told two and a half weeks from when we dropped the ring off, which would most likely be September 4th give or take a day. On September 12th at 10am I called and left a message asking for an update. Imagine my surprise when one of my messages was not only listened to, but actually returned; Andrea called me back at 5pm that same day and said she would "investigate". By the end of the next day, I hadn't heard from her so called around 5pm on September 13th and left another message. We received a callback saying that the ring will be done in one week (which would be September 20th

Extremely satisfied and highly recommended. Baranof created custom rings for our upcoming wedding. The owner Tony spent a lot of time patiently working with us to create the perfect rings, and turned our ideas into reality. The entire staff at Baranof were friendly and helpful. If you're in Park City and looking for high quality jewelry coupled with outstanding customer service, Baranof is the place to visit.

My wife and I have been looking for a quality piece of Alexandrite as it is her birthstone. We found an incredible set of earrings in Sitka, Alaska at the Baranof Jewelry Store at the pier that NCL uses. Kareem and Tom at the store were awesome and their customer service was excellent. We are very happy with our purchase.

I am an avid, serious shopper and I love nice things. Baranof Jewelers has the most beautiful jewelry ever!!! High quality, one of a kind pieces. If they don't have it in store they will make it for you. The store is very beautiful and welcoming. The level of customer service is off the charts. They are warm and friendly. You will not feel intimated. It's a no pressure environment. In todays world this is very hard to come by. Baranof Jewelers is the only place we buy from. Trust me - you will not be sorry.

Very knowledgeable, patient and kind staff and jewelers. Went in with my younger kids and we all got an education and learned a lot.Many others would have just treated them like kids, but they didn’t.Highly recommend them for all your jewelry needs.They make their jewelry on site as well.Wonderful people.

My experience with Baranof was not really pleasant. When I purchased the ring the sales rep were really nice of course. I asked regarding jewelry insurance and they said they don't offer it. That should have been a red flag but I proceeded and purchased the ring. They told me I would receive my ring in a month.. that was not the case, it took 2 months. I never received a call or an email from Baranof.. I called a few times to ask about the ring.. they always had an excuse why the ring wasn't ready yet etc.. well I finally received the ring and the quality seemed good but within a month two stones fell off.. & they didn't send paperwork with the ring. I took a close look at the ring and I can tell that the prongs are not securing the stones properly.. poorly made ring. It was a $800 ring and soon it'll be worthless when all the stones fall off. I'm scared to even wear the ring.
