Between the Orem Walgreens at 850 S. State Street and the Provo store at 1315 N. State St., my brother and I got the major run around simply because they were too lazy to check their computer for inventory on Prasugrel, but that's not all!On November 30, 2023 around noon, I was discharged from the hospital after suffering a major heart attack two days prior and needed Prasugrel that day. Prasugrel keeps my body from attacking the newly installed stent as a foreign object thus closing the artery to the heart and sending me back to the hospital. Waiting hours after the promised pickup time, they wouldn’t fill my prescription of Prasugrel because they only had 60 pills instead of the required 90. “Please, I’ll take 60 out of the 90 pills prescribed and pay for those!” Paul at the Orem Walgreens complied. When we got back to my brother’s house, I discovered they failed to provide me with the original sales receipt for my purchase, which totaled hundreds of dollars. We return again to the Orem store. The black gal behind the counter, who didn’t give her name, lied to me, “We texted it!”, “We emailed it!” all while Paul looked through their trash baskets. The store manager eventually produced a special receipt so I could get reimbursed by my medical insurance provider. They simply could not print a duplicate receipt to replace the one they tossed. PAY ATTENTION! I just had a heart attack, I am on my feet way too much, and their incompetence is stressing me out. My relapse risk increases! This could be you! The icing on this “we are just too busy” cake was this black gal who dismissively scoffed “Not my problem!” Unacceptable! Being in the customer service business myself for nearly 50 years, those three words should never come out of a customer service agent’s mouth without negative consequences.I received a follow-up marketing call later when I returned home, oblivious to what transpired, the sales agent asked me if I wanted to sign-up to become a regular Walgreens customer. “No thanks!” What they failed to check; I was a member already! All this call did was remind me to cut up my card. There are much better pharmacies that serve the public competently.

Walgreens is usually busy in the pharmacy, but they still give me excellent service. Several employees know me and do their best.

I came in for passport photos and they honestly got to me pretty quickly, took the photo, and printed them out all in under a half an hour. Why the one star? Because the photos ended up being worthless. When I went to turn in my passport application they showed me how my face was too large in the pictures according to the guidelines. I ended up having to redo the photos somewhere else and now have some very expensive and useless wallet sized pictures of my face. If you advertise passport photos the resultant photos should work for a passport.

i normally don’t do bad reviews but today my experience was just full of bad energy. i buy cases of water here all the time & the lady with the glasses with like a sling on her arm (i forgot her name) at the counter was very rude today, she threw my money & change on the counter when i politely handed the money to her. customer service is really really bad here & i never feel welcomed. i get weird looks all the time by employees when i walk in. we get it my tattoos & piercings aren’t in your religion but you don’t have to treat me like i’m some alien

Team member male with long blond hair needs to be retrained or fired! All customers are inconvenient and interrupt his napping and personal phone time. I left the store due to the lack of his help

I visit walgreens often to deposit my cash tips into my Chime bank account. My retail and banking transactions are always smooth, positive experiences. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about my pharmacy experiences there. Honestly, I've had two prescriptions sent to Walgreens recently and picking up both were ridiculous, exasperating and hideously drawn out experiences. Unnecessary delays, longer than reasonable wait times and I'm pretty sure no one else there with me had any kind of more positive experience those days. Between the old gentleman who had a 30+ minute wait to be told his insurance wasn't going to cover his medication in full which explanation took an additional 30 minutes to my experience where I was told (after leaving and coming back 2 hrs later) that a medicaid would not fill the tablet form of my medication which is how the ER Physician had written it. Only to have the tech lean over to the pharmacist while i stood there, incredulous, and be told they COULD just fill it in "regular non-tablet form" which medicaid would cover. Then I waited another 50 minutes for 60 tablets to be counted twice and labeled into a jar foe me to take home. They had like 10 people in the pharmacy that night but only 2 worked the counter registers inside the building. 2 more handled drive thru customers. The remainder all looked busy enough but none of them interacted with any customers. It was hugely frustrating. So I keep my pharmacy business in small local pharmacies and do my banking and makeup buying at walgreens instead.

Smiths Orem faxed my prescription at 9:45 am and at 10:15 am it still hadn’t been received by their “system.” They said to call back at 11:15 am. They originally said it would take 2 hours to get it transferred. Smith’s in Provo said it would take 1 hour.

The pharmacy staff at this location are extremely rude and can't be bothered to do their job in "customer service". And the cashier was also very rude and put out by us spending our money in their store. We will be transferring our Rx's to CVS pharmacy and avoiding Walgreens all together.
