Petersen Medical built my father’s wheelchair (manual), so when it needed a repair we reached out to them. The repair was simple, just a bracket attachment for an armrest that had broken. They said they would send someone out the next week.Guy comes out, confirms it’s an easy repair, and says he will be back the following week after ordering the part. We do not hear from him for over two weeks, and then he repeatedly kept delaying and putting it off saying things like “I’m hoping next week”.Then after four weeks we are told that we need to get a prescription in order to do the repair. This takes another two weeks because we can’t get a fax number to send it to them, and when I asked them to fax it to my father’s PCP they said it didn’t go through.Once that’s done, I once again do not hear back from this guy and have to reach out multiple times. He says he will be out Friday to do the repair.Friday comes around and now he’s telling me that they’re having problems with the insurance and would we like to pay cash or wait for the insurance to be figured out.If I’m going to pay cash I’ll go somewhere that doesn’t take EIGHT WEEKS to mount a BRACKET on a WHEELCHAIR and consistently not respond to my calls and texts.

Do not deal with this company, I will tell anyone I know not to deal with them, they are a bunch of inept individuals that can't get anything done. They will take your order and that is where it ends. They are a 0 star company, pure waste of time. Save your time and effort and go to IHC to or Alpine home medical to get all of your supplies, had great experiences with both of those places. It is absolutely incredible this company is in business.

It was so easy to order more supplies for my CPAP, and Sarah (I think that was her name) was so helpful to me with my balance and helping me figure that out.

I’m so grateful to have a medical supplier like Peterson Medical. Sweet Sara in billing was able to arrange for my wife and I to keep our machines while we had a gap in our insurance. The Peterson Medical team has been phenomenal every step of the way. Thanks so much Peterson Medical!!!

Absolutely terrible untimely service. Sleep is necessary for everything. Put in a resupply order 10 days ago, still haven't seen it, and they are CLOSED for a state holiday. They should be open at least 6 days a week.

They were unable to fulfill the contract of building my wheelchair. It was such a disaster. They were unprofessional and rude.

I had someone named Mckinzy, and she answered all my questions that I had the day of. However, I never received any followup, and when I called to try and change my mass, she told me to try again and give it more time. I called again and was told the same thing. I feel like she was just fine taking my money but once it came time to actually helping me afterwards, she was unwilling to help in any way. Now I have to buy a new mask because she did so little to help.

Rylie in billing was so kind, knowledgeable, patient and HELPFUL! She turned a very frustrating circumstance into an easily resolved one very quickly and calmly. Thank you!

Be prepared with your own knowledge of what your insurance "covers".Depending on how your insurance operates it may be much cheaper to use other online sources.

This place reminds me of the Seinfeld episode with the car reservation (ref below)...they know how to take your order, they just don't know how to fill your order, and that's really the most important part of the order.I reordered my supplies through their online system, waited weeks, left them detailed voicemail, waited days to hear back, was told they were running behind and it would be there in 5 days (I live 20 miles away), and it still hasn't arrived a week later. Apparently they have staffing, warehouse, and supply issues---so if you want medical supplies, it's best to look elsewhere.Jerry : I don't understand. Do you have my reservation?Rental Car Agent : We have your reservation, we just ran out of cars.Jerry : But the reservation keeps the car here. That's why you have the reservation.Rental Car Agent : I think I know why we have reservations.Jerry : I don't think you do. You see, you know how to *take* the reservation, you just don't know how to *hold* the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Anybody can just take them.

I'm surprised to see all these negative reviews as I called Petersen to inquire about a CPAP and was helped by the nicest woman! Then again she said she was actually in the Kaysville store as they were helping the Orem store who was inundated by taking their calls. Ashley in Kaysville was super helpful and went out of her way to get me information I needed to make a decision about where to purchase a CPAP. I don't know that I'll go with Petersen because they don't take my insurance so it would be out of network and my insurance has to pre-authorize the charge, so I kinda doubt they will (and it all seems like a pain anyway and our whole healthcare system is just the tail wagging the dog if a person has to jump through all these insurance hoops just to stay alive), but it's good to know there are friendly people in this business like Ashley who care about people and good-quality customer service. Thanks Ashley in Kaysville!

I am over 80 years old, live in an assisted living center and in a wheelchair. One of Petersen Medical patient care "advisors" recommended that I purchase a power assist wheelchair because it was covered 100% by my insurance. It never worked and they installed used power assist wheels because they claimed new ones "were back ordered" (they never were delivered). But they did bill my insurance company several thousand dollars - which my insurance company denied because they filed the paperwork incorrectly. So they just passed the bill to me (several thousand dollars due). My son straightened that out with one phone call to my insurance, who again said it was filed incorrectly. Peterson Medical did finally adjust the bill after several months, but claimed I still owed them several hundred dollars, even thought the medical "advisor" assured me it was 100% covered. I received a letter from Peterson Medical today threatening to turn my bill to a collection agency. How about you send your collection agency to my assisted living center and repossess the wheelchair that is still not functioning correctly.

Prescription in hand, I sought a local business from which to purchase an expensive piece of durable medical equipment. I prefer to use a local business when I can. When I called Petersen's ********* phone number, it was routed through a directory and could only be accessed by choosing the *** Office selection - they were using the closed office's phone number with no explanation to callers. Finding the physical office was difficult. It's sign could not be read from the street. While pleasant, the front desk assistant did not know her stock and had to ask a manager if they had an Everflow ** *********** manager remained hidden from view in another room throughout our subsequent conversation and would not come out when I asked if I could see her in order to speak with her. Abruptly the phantom voice shouted that only the regional manager could help me. Clearly this company did not want a cash sale preferring only to deal with rental equipment.
