Impressed! That is how I feel when I am buying photo prints from Allen's Camera or when I have a special order to be printed. Allen's Camera gets things done and things are done in detail. I think they really care about their customers and their orders. They are professionals! I will gladly recommend Allen's Camera to anyone!

Nice shop with good choices I'd film 35mm perspective - film review - they take longer than preferred for return on development & prices are odd.. had one employee tell me all base line for b&w was $18 to develop than was charged 15$ few days later by different one.. only location that develop film is in Orem so regardless where u drop off it gets taken there another reason why turn around isn't ideal .. price sheets for film and development would go a long way & 99% sure they only offer one form of development so fingers crossed.. turned in a hp5 and a Porta 200 to test the waters.. also I'm spoiled from Wilson Camera in Scottsdale with 1-3 day turn around a on all film with multiple options of development so I could be extra picky but waiting 2 weeks sure is old for 2 roles.

I needed some help with managing some FieldPrint issues. They only act as a kiosk for the company, but Allen's Camera did a great job of sympathizing with me, helping me with finding resources and feeling welcome. Jordan and the other staff are great to have around!

I am so disappointed with this store over and over again. I bought something a few days ago and they refused to return it unless the packaging was in *perfect* condition. They charged me 10% of the total cost of the product to return. Three days ago. How am I supposed to open a package without it getting somewhat torn up? Ridiculous

They set an expectation that my job would take 3-4 months since I was the lowest cost slide to digital conversion but it ended up being 7 months and even then I had to pay full price because they couldn't tell me when it would be ready. How do you go from 3-4 months to way more than 7?

Been coming here for a while because they are the only place around that really develops film. So I have had the opportunity to watch their poor service and customer service show through over many visits. Dropping off film to be developed is always a different experience. Sometimes they honor the "student discount" and sometimes they don't. When I ask for the student discount they act bothered that I am trying to save some money on a deal they came up with. They always claim to be "two weeks out" and at the end of my visit they say they will have my film to me within four hours, however that is after I request to pay rush. Then they make up the rush price there on the spot. Sometimes 2 dollars. Sometimes 10 dollars. Sometimes 20 dollars? Ridiculously volatile which is bad form for a company that should have set prices and standards. Anyway I wish there was someone else that could develop film around here but for now on I will drive an hour away and waste more money on gas just to get my film developed elsewhere. Sad.

I don't really write reviews, but I just had to praise Allen's Camera! I dropped off my disposable camera at 4:00pm today and my film was developed by 7:00! Everything turned out great. Every other place that develops film tends to take about 10-12 days to get it back to you. I wasn't expecting such quick service, but I'm so glad I came here and was pleasantly surprised! Will be coming again for my other cameras.

I don't often make reviews for anything, but surely what happened today needs to be addressed. I normally go to Allen's Camera because I wanted to support local business. Previously, they've been pretty good with developing my films and getting it to me in a timely manner on my drop box. Same goes with picking up my negatives, everything went smooth. However, there was an issue today that had such terrible customer service. I honestly think it's because this employee is a complete racist because of how she treats other customers that are white versus a minority. This employee's name is Taylor (from what the other co-worker had mentioned). She's the one with long, blonde hair. The girl is completely RUDE! I came in and was so excited to get my films developed and to also pick up my negatives. After she charged me, she proceeded by looking for the negatives and then went to me and said that it was no longer available because it's been over 60 days. Now I was confused by this because I thought to myself, has it really been over 60 days. So I left and said thanks and went my way. But as I went back to my dropbox app it stated that my film was developed less than 2 months (60 days) ago. So, I called back and it was the same girl, Taylor, who picked up. I then explained how I checked the drop box and how it hasn't been over 60 days. She then stated that oh if that's the case then I'm going to have you look in the basement and find them yourself had such a passive aggressive tone. As if it's my fault and that I needed to go down the basement and sift through all the negatives like I'm an employee there. When I went back to Allen's Camera, the employee that assisted me was Zachary. He went above and beyond to help me out. I explained to him my frustrations in not being able to receive my negatives and how Taylor had bad customer service because of how she's having come back and forth to waste my time when she could have told me the first time around that they still have the negatives downstairs and could have gotten them for me. I was LIVID. On top of that she tried to stop Zachary by saying that I needed to go downstairs to find them. But I step my foot down and told her that she's the one who told me TWICE that they would throw away negatives. Then this girl gaslights me and says that actually if you look at the sign there it's 30 days. Not once did she tell me that it was 30 days then the customer would be responsible for sifting through the negatives in the basement. Zachary still went and got the negatives for me, so I'm really grateful and appreciative for his help. My frustration stems from - 1. Taylor gaslighting me about having the negatives being thrown away after 60 days the first time, so I thought it was gone 2. It wasn't even 60 days, then how she rudely tells me that I was responsible for looking for those negatives in the basement because the employee's are busy assisting customers 3. They didn't even have a line for customer's so I don't understand why Taylor couldn't pick up my negatives the first time around 4. I dislike how she tried to stop Zachary from getting the negatives and tried to have me retrieved. I do not work there, and no one has EVER explained that I would need to retrieve those after 30 days. 5. I dislike how Taylor has terrible customer service and didn't even own up to her mistake in telling me that my negatives were thrown away after 60 days or didn't even bother to tell me the first time around that they were in the basement. Hence, I wasted my time to go back there 6. I will NEVER be a customer here because of this employee. I would highly suggest going to the FINDLAB. I'd rather pay a little bit more for my negatives and get great customer service than having to deal with a racist, rude, and passive aggressive employee like Taylor.

Luckily it wasn't busy and the lady was patient with us as my son started asking questions about camera lenses, filters, and adapters. Unfortunately the camera we bought him; they don't support or carry accessories for (Canon M200). When I started asking if she could compare the Nikon vs Sony vs Canon in the price range similar to Canon T8i, she didn't give us much to go off of aside from Canon was good and there's a Sony that's comparable. She didn't pull any cameras out for us to start looking at. They didn't have or carry adapters we needed and were limited due to covid on filters. I want to encourage my son's photography passion, but when the staff doesn't show and have all the answers about what they should have knowledge on; it doesn't give me the comfort or the desire to come back. I really want to support local. Maybe the staff needs more training on sales and marketing their products. It might increase sales.. oh and the last time my husband stopped by he asked about a camera but the staff told him to go to Costco, he would get a better deal. I cannot speak for photo prints, we haven't tried them for that yet.

Yesterday I had one of the worst experiences that I have ever had in a camera store after being a professional analogue photographer for over 10 years. Over the weekend I had an editorial I was shooting and I purchased two packs of polaroid SX-70 film. Right after I purchased I went straight to set where I began shooting on these packs from Allens. Immediately I could tell that something was wrong with this film stock because the images came out super blue and the signature polaroid colors were not coming through. I am very knowledgable with this film and assumed that these were either not properly stored in correct temperature conditions or something had happened in the manufacturing process of this film. I was so upset and sad and so was the client. I figured I wouldn't have any issue explaining my case and being able to receive a refund or some form of compensation (as I have been able to at other camera stores within the valley). I went into the store yesterday to try and receive some answers as to why this had happened to the film and speak with the owner. As I met with the owner I could immediately tell that he had no interest in hearing my story or was even interested in assisting me. While he spoke to me (with no face mask on) he began to belittle me and speak down to me as if I had no knowledge or understanding of film. He told me that their policy was no returns on film and he pointed at a sign placed far from where the polaroids were stored that you wouldn't even notice if you were in a rush like I was. He told me to contact Polaroid themselves if I had any issues. As he continued to speak down to me a customer behind me (also not wearing a face mask) inserted himself in the conversation and repeatedly told me "thats just film" as if I didn't know that shooting on film has its risks. All of a sudden I realized I was met with two men belittling me, bullying me, and essentially putting my health at risk. I understand that as a small business there are certain losses you can't take the blame for. Whether this was on Allens not properly storing their film correctly or Polaroid sending them a bad batch, I was just hoping to be met with kindness and decency. Instead I left with my feelings hurt and feeling like I experienced the stereotype that people in my industry continuously talk about. The stereotype of going into a camera store and the men within the store speaking to you with an air of condescension in their voice. I'm sure I will receive a response from this review with the owner having their own take on the situation. Even though I will not be shopping here anymore I hope that the team (specifically the owner) at Allen's takes my experience into consideration and treats its future customers with more respect than what I experienced yesterday.

if you live in the area & need film developed come here instead of a generic place like walgreens, cvs, walmart, etc. i hoped on that film bandwagon a few months back & bought a kodak disposable camera because i was digging all the film photo aesthetics i kept seeing on instagram. i watched a few YouTube videos on the best ways to get your film developed & where to go, so i decided to go to a camera store vs. a Walgreens because the wait time to get your film developed was supposedly much shorter & there's more access to digital links at a camera store vs Walgreens just gives you a CD. Allen's was the closest camera store near me so I came in around 4:00 pm last saturday to drop off my camera, & they exceeded my expectations!! i only spent 5 minutes in the store, the guy at the counter gave me my options, i said i wanted my pictures emailed, he said I'd have them by monday & i was totally fine with that. i checked my email around 11:00 pm that night & they were there! they had sent them to me at 5:00 pm, literally one hour after i dropped my camera off! AMAZING! it also only cost $10 & the pictures were gorgeous & 26/27 photos had turned out! so so happy & will definitely come back for all my film needs!

I had a fantastic Christmas this year. My awesome wife listened to my photographic hints throughout the year. She went to Allen's of Salt Lake 2121 State Street. Alex helped her purchase a nice camera package. I was extremely surprised at my gifts in part because I knew she had spent a pile of money. Upon starting online registration for one of the lenses, a proof of purchase was required. Allen's emailed one quickly. I saw she had received a good discount. I was happy to see that she had saved some money. A few days later, Alex called and left an odd sounding message stating that there was some issue with the receipt. When we returned the call he informed us that he made a mistake and wanted my wife to come in and pay the difference. My wife, being a very honest person, felt she had to make things right even though she had done NOTHING wrong. She went out of her way, taking a long lunch. She was charged the entire difference (full retail) and sent on her way. I have worked retail for many years. If I had given a customer a deal, I would NEVER have called the customer and made them feel as if they were in the wrong and needed to return to the store with their credit card. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE ... I think I should return the whole bundle and shop elsewhere for a much better deal.

Entirely unprofessional. After giving them 9+ chances I am giving them up. They consistently leave scratches and hairs on scanned film, Forget to give you high quality scans which you paid for, crop a important part of the film negative out of your scan, select the wrong color temp, etc. (every time I get images back there has been a problem). Mistakenly give you the wrong price then attempt to extort you for you to receive your images. What seems like a nice place to take your film is a place of pure anxiety and sadness. Do not go here unless you'd like to be disappointed, overcharged, and receive poor poor quality images. In regard to renting equipment, I rented a D850 from Allen's. They gave me a 3rd party battery with probably 20% of an original battery's performance. I needed to periodically charge it 4 times in one night, nearly costing me my gig. Avoid Allen's at all costs.

Linda, at the Allen's Orem location did an awesome job of restoring a badly damaged and old photo that was about 72 years old. It took only a week considering how involved the restoration was going to be. I had taken the same picture to another photo restoration shop and was told it couldn't be done since the damage was more than they'd be willing to tackle. Allen's photo shop said they'd give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised that the restoration turned out better than I had anticipated. Linda, you are an asset to Allen's Photo with your skillful expertise. I also requested a CD and a restored print which I received. Well done, Linda. I'm definitely coming back to you for all of my photo restoration needs. I highly recommend Linda at Allen's Photo. Thank you!
