Nothing but bad experiences with this place. I wasn't going to leave a review, but then one of your drivers nearly caused an accident when they cut us off in traffic without signaling.

Not only do we use Benson for our personal taxes but when we decided to start our own business the thought of taxes and paperwork was overwhelming for sure! Benson was beyond helpful in getting us set up and was great at helping my husband know the best way to keep his books, which programs to use for his accounting and how to keep everything organized and easy to handle! Benson made it so easy for us that we didn’t even have to stress gathering paperwork for my husbands business when it came time to do taxes. Him and my husband were able to login, see his books through the recommended programs and it was done so fast and so easy! NO STRESS AT ALL! Can not say thank you enough to benson! Love Main Street taxes!

Plan on being ignored. Plan on receiving less-than-truthful explanations from receptionists (because they will be the only people you can reach) for their gross mismanagement of your accounts. Plan on paying extra fees for late filings. Plan on dealing with the IRS for years to come because of their failures. Plan on hiring a different agency to correct their errors.

WARNING. DO NOT USE THEM. RUN.I have been using them for the past 4-5 years. The last two years have been awful. Very unprofessional and dishonest in their dealings. They have been under new management for the past two years. Company has gone down hill.Last year 2020 I gave them my taxes to complete the middle of March. My taxes were not completed until the end of Oct. Each week i messaged them for an update and was ignored majority of the time. After my taxes were submitted, I was fined by State and Federal both for late fees. Accountant assured me that he submitted on time, which was a lie.This year. 2021. I gave them my taxes Feb 15. Called every week. Accountant said he would have them to me the end of day tomorrow.Said that every week until middle of May. I needed a paper to refinance my house. Accountant had my quick books locked up so I couldn’t send the paper needed. I asked him for it then got a $300 bill a month later. (The previous owner gave me the paper with no fee on a previous refinance)I needed some 1099s sent and I asked if this was something I could do myself and the accountant said let me do those for you, it will be no problem, will take me 10 minutes. then got a bill. Very sketchy company.Currently they are a dishonest company and overcharge for unnecessary services. They don’t treat you with respect when you ask questions. The new owners do not tell the right hand what the left hand is doing. They are very late to respond to messages unless it of course has to do with money you owe them for their lack of service.Beware and RUN the other direction.But If you don’t mind being overcharged, being disrespected, being lied to, or your time wasted, they are a great company to go with.

Sadly, I called them after 1 month to see where the process was. First, they went on a vacation, and second time I called, they were too busy with other taxes, and when I asked for more specific information, I was completely ignored. No an "excuse us for no calling" or " not doing any follow up", no apologies. Some more excuses were brought up than solutions, when they didn't know where my taxes were. I actually filed because I needed to have it done for 2018. I usually don't do reviews. But this scares heck out of me when I know I give personal information to this Tax prep office. It made me uneasy indeed. Please read all the reviews before a year ago.

Really a terrible and needlessly expensive experience. Missed deadlines, extensions not filed when they said they were. Virtually no contact. You can't get past the admins who promise calls back but nothing happens, and in the end our taxes weren't even done correctly. It is one thing to be busy. It is entirely another thing to take your client's money, not deliver work or on promises, intentionally avoid contact, and ultimately do shoddy work only when cornered like a squirrel in a cage. Jared is incompetent and this place is just a disaster.

This has honestly been the hardest accounting firm I've ever worked with. I did my taxes with them 2 years ago and I'm still getting letters from the IRS saying I didn't file correctly. This last experience I had with them it took them 3 months to get a simple letter into the IRS. I called them every week for 3 months and they gave me the same response that "they would get it in." Each time I would ask when they are done to send me a simple confirmation email saying it was done. I never got that email or anything saying that they did it. I'm beyond bugged and annoyed that it took this long and I urge you never to use Main Street Tax and Accounting.

I've used them twice now for my tax return. React time I've had to pay additional taxes, but this year, after paying the extra $2000+ I received a bill from the IRS for an additional $15+. They said they could fight it, but out would have additional cost of $50 for just a letter to the IRS. I paid them over $200 to avoid problems like this.

Worst service EVER. We were audited (on the one year they did our taxes) and every time we call they tell us to send them the letters and not take any other action because they'll take care of it. Almost 6 months later and they've literally done nothing. We've called every day trying to get an accountant on the phone and we have yet to talk to someone. So, so unprofessional, unhelpful, and shady.
