The unit I rent here is nice and big with power and a light. The parking lot area is generally really clean and it's always easy to get in contact with someone when there is an issue!

(Orem Storage location) Con-artists. Do yourself a favor and avoid the hassle of working with these people and their poor business practices. I rented a unit in Orem for about 1-year. First, the facility is essentially hidden behind an apartment complex in a primarily residential neighborhood. No security key pad to access the units and no one is on site; instead they have a heavy rolling gate that is manually operated with a basic lock as security. 95% of the time, the gate is wide open (it's essentially up to the last person to visit the storage unit to close it, whoever that may be). There is also a dump-truck company. In the year I was there, I saw two different occasions of police coming to the storage center to deal with what appeared to be someone living out of their unit. Anyway, I signed up over the phone, no one every showed up to actually walk the unit with me (this comes into play later). In fact, I distinctly asked the person over the phone if any further action was needed on my end. Little did I know that I had to visit their office to then pick up a copy of the key used to lock or unlock the primary gate. This eventually lead to me not having access to my unit when it was an urgent circumstance. their office boarders Provo, and is off-site as mentioned before. Everything else was relatively smooth unit I elected to discontinue the use of my rental unit. I talked to their receptionist (who was later fired) and asked her what the necessary steps were for me to end my rental term, and surrender my keys. The date was just days AFTER I paid the rent for the entire month. So, keep in mind, you do not get prorated on your cancellation, you lose your entire rent for that month. I was okay with this, after she told me I can use the unit until the end of the month. Even with that advise, I vacated the unit possibly a few days there-after. I called them again, asked if they needed anything further from me, then visited their office and returned their key. The person working their told me they "review" the units once a month, and once the unit was looked over, I would get my deposit back. I was instructed to sweep out the unit, which I did. So, the end of the month comes and goes, and I hear nothing from them and I don't see a refund of my deposit (which was $50). I call to inquire, and it's another person now in the roll, who then told me the previous girl was fired, and that what I had been told about leaving the unit was false. She told me I needed to give a full 30-day notice, and although they literally leased out the unit 2-weeks after I vacated (allowing them to avoid any lapse in vacancy) that I was not eligible to get my deposit back. I asked to speak to the owners, as this is a "small operation". Coincidentally, they were out of town on vacation, so I left my info and told her to have them call me. Several more weeks pass, again no communication. I call them again, and now I get a story of how I left the unit dirty. No one ever told me it was "dirty" instead, it was just determined that it was not to their expectation when a mystery person walked the unit and now I am out the deposit. If you recall, from earlier, no one walked the unit with me before or after my lease. No one gave me a chance to then review what their concerns might have been in an effort to clean it myself, and recoup my deposit. This is what we've come to in terms of small business ownership folks. The guy owns several storage units and other makeshift businesses, and apparently burning a customer for $50 dollars is their idea of good business practice. Months after my lease ended, no one has called or attempted to contact me to find some resolution. Had I known upfront that the deposit is essentially non-refundable, I would have been okay with that, but this approach is completely unacceptable, and I hope any future customer's review this and elect to take their business elsewhere, you've been warned.
