Needs a therapist on staff or at least available to assist in mental health issues caused by trauma in DV. Thieres an abuse epidemic that most people aren't aware of. Help don't hinder our fellow man, please

This place is the best. The staff is so nice and they are so helpful in so many ways, and so kind. I don't know where I would have been without the help of everyone here. They definitely were a big step in my life and I'm so grateful and happy for them. Thank you all so much

I was recently a victim of a domestic violence. I was fed bull I was told so many things and then only led to disappointed. I would never advise anyone man to stay here. Not only have I been a victim a few years ago and basically turned away. I again just a month ago was turned away. I really have harsh feelings. I felt alone and scared and helpless. But here I am still all alone doing it on my own. It still scary. 33pecent woman report DV and 21percent of men report DV in Utah. Those are high numbers since our national average is 37percent. I lost faith in YCC . Made several calls and text but never returned my calls . Well here we go with a broken system and hopeless dreams. Unfulfilled expectations crushed. Please I advice you to look somewhere else when you are in a crisis. They don't honestly care.

These shelters are keeping women out. They are keeping women out. When you are in an unsafe situation because of blah blah, they just refuse to let you in. That's actually illegal.Hi, this is happening. We don't care, just stay there.

They no longer take used donations only new. I think that would limit the number of clients they can assist..

I've had to stay at the ycc before, but when I tried to go back with my pregnant daughter who was under 18 ycc denied me and would not let me come back. I didn't break any rules or cause any problems. My daughter myself and grandson are still currently homeless and ycc still won't help us even tho I was in a domestic violent situation

The daycare is amazing!I had to switch daycares to accommodate my job . The director and staff are professional and make sure the kids needs are met at that the children are safe!Stonee and Cella took great care of my baby girl!I can’t remember the name of the teacher in the class my son was in but she was amazing! This daycare goes by the book with state/ licensing guidelines which is important to me.My kids have been to kidztown and Discovery clubhouse and I had issues with both places. It’s a little annoying to have to get buzzed in and out of the building but on the bright side it’s safe and secure and I’d definitely trust them with my babies again .

Donating: I've now interacted with four different staff here that were rude, disrespectful and atrocious...even worse all while in respect to donating to them. When brought to thier attention nothing was resolved, no apologies were made...nothing. After 20 years and more than $30,000 donated. I have decided to put my care and donations elsewhere. If it weren't for the kindness of others places like YCC wouldn't exist or thrive as they do.I'm glad they closed the donation center. I've enjoyed the kindness, more gratious and much closer to my home donation centers. I'm sad the community lost the thrift store it was a much needed and used necessity for needed items at a reduced price, especially in this economy.

It was wonderful to feel protected when brought in, but I felt I was overly promised. I was under the impression that we could get atleast help, care, or direction for my daughter and I moving forward but can't even get a reply. Most times when I get a reply, it's someone saying they will have someone else respond or that they have badically slacked so long that they can no longer help us. We have a predator out to find us. We are victims and pray that atleast someone else receives better advocacy so they don't have to live in as much fear.

I used some free legal advice services at the YCC. Employees were welcoming, courteous, warm, and helpful. They have so many resources.

I don't know why but this place is extremely prejudice! I have tried on multiple occasions to sincerely get help from this place due to my situation, and after giving them my name they refused to help me. I have nowhere to go and I fit every one of their criterias to receive help as well. I'm not trying to cause problems I just sincerely do not understand why they say that they're there to help with women who are in abusive situations and have nowhere to turn. Every time I've given them a fake name they are more than willing to accommodate me, but the minute that I give them my real name Everything Changes.UPDATE: I tried giving these guys another chance and again, at 2 a.m. after being beat up and dumped off by my abusive ex, I came to them for help. The woman who did my intake treated me horribly and said sorry, we won't help you because I had my dog with me. I was sent packing in a very scary neighborhood with nowhere to turn in the middle of the night. My ex found me and sent three of his friends to assault me as well. I don't know why but they are totally against me personally and I feel it's criminal the way they treat me. It's wrong to do to people needing serious help with nowhere else to turn.

Based on the other reviews I’ve read and my own experience today I can see that their eligibility requirements to get help actually doesn’t do what this organization is for….. to help women and children in abusive situations. I am actively trying to escape an abusive situation and keep getting told I don’t qualify. I want to know what terms are these qualifications. Do I need to die for them to take me and my child’s situation seriously??? Is there a higher up I can speak to???? Do Not Call Here I guess if your getting beaten up, threatened & stalked daily, your abuser showing up even tho there is a protective order against them, and showing up to your child’s school to threaten your child’s teacher multiple times. Guess you don’t qualify if that is your situation. ??♀️

What more could I add to this amazing legacy in the Ogden area? They continue to serve battered women and serve their precious families. I'm in awe of what they do!

YCC is a crown jewel in Ogden city for ANYONE in need, man, woman or child. The programs they have are invaluable to our community. In my younger years they helped me as a struggling single mother. I now donate to their cause and shop in their thrift store. Job well done YCC!
