On 2/12/2024 I was going away on a business trip. At last minute I checked my docking station, it was broken. I went to Best Buy. I spoke with an associate who assured me that the docking station they had would work with my model of laptop. I purchased that model of docking station. When I got to my destination I plugged in the docking station and my laptop didn't recognize it. I had my co-worker plug in the docking station into his laptop, his computer recognized it immediately. I use the USB-c port for other devices on my laptop and the port works. I was working in a remote location and the nearest Best Buy was a few hours away. I returned from trip on 3/2/2024. I went to Best Buy the next day on 3/3/2024. I attempted to return the docking station. The guy at the return register said he couldn't return it as it was a few days outside the return window. He got his manager. The manager arrived at the register. She took one look at my receipt and said it was outside the return window and then proceeded to immediately walk away. I didn't get a chance to explain anything. I called the Best But 800 number and I didn't get any help. They said I need to talk to the store manager. I tried to call the store. They don't take calls. I live 1 hour 20 minutes from the Riverdale store. I am not going to gamble driving down there to see if the manager is in. Best Buy needs to take the return. Their employee gave me the wrong information. Best Buy bills themselves as being the tech people, that has not been my experience. They are uninterested in taking care of the customer when they make a mistake. If this is not taken care of, this will be my last purchase with Best Buy.
