I have been using them as my financial institution ever since I got my first job. AFCU has always been very fair and worked with me on many different things, such as overdrafts and loans, with respect and kindness. When I first got married, my wife wanted us to have an account with her bank. We settled on using an account at both, then quickly transitioned to just AFCU because her bank would not work with us as much and was not as kind. I still love banking here. This branch is the first branch I opened an account with and there are still some great employees here.

My purpose for the visit was to get credit card information and maybe apply. I ended up applying, and was then approved. I go home for lunch and get a call that I am not approved, so I go to the branch and talk to the assistant manager he then proceeds to tell me that there is nothing to do and if I want I can figure it out. I left without a credit card at the minimum and with a hit on my credit score. Horrible customer service and horrible branch in general, go to others in the area if you can.

Unfortunately, I just closed out my Wells Fargo account to bring my money over to America First, where my hubby banks. Yesterday, I used the drive through and pulled right up to the lane closest to the building to deposit a couple checks. I sat there and sat there with no hello or anything. I knew they were busy. After sitting there a while, I pushed the button thinking the teller would at least say, “I’ll be with you shortly.” Nothing. After waiting and waiting, I pushed the button two more times (minutes in between) with no response. Finally the teller comes over and says, “Sorry. I’m the only one here and we’re really busy.” I said, “I understand that you’re busy. All I was hoping for is acknowledgment.” She said sorry and then, as I was leaving, I heard her telling the other two cars, finally, “I’ll be right with you.” ?

Horrible experience with personnel. I didn’t catch the name, but the bald guy definitely needs training in customer service! I called customer service to get a credit card and completed the whole process with them over the phone and was told to go in store to get the card. The representative was very rude and unhelpful with finishing process. He also complained about my name? I spelled it out (because it is different spelling) and he was very upset about that. I will never go into this branch again.

This is the absolute worst financial institution I’ve ever experienced. They ran a hard credit check twice for an RV loan then denied having ran the second one despite my credit report showing it. Once they finally admitted their error, I asked them to reverse the second one. They evaded my numerous calls and emails trying to get the info for my RV loan because they didn’t want to deal with my complaint about them running the second credit check unnecessarily. For over a week I tried to communicate with Alaina Iliff about the details of my RV loan but she evaded my calls to avoid confronting her error. I spoke to her supervisor Lauren Bell who stated that they’d have to run my credit a third time to proceed with the RV loan. Bell said the first credit check was now no longer recent enough (missed the deadline by 3 days which I wouldn't have if Alaina Iliff hadn’t evaded my calls for a week). She stated they can’t use the second one since they already requested to ‘suppress’ that one. She was entirely unapologetic about the entire ordeal and told me not to worry about the credit check as it was already removed from my credit report several days ago. I pointed out that I’d just received the letter from AF today stating they requested the removal just today. I confronted Lauren Bell with her lie and she tried to to blame it on Alaina. Besides being incompetent this business seems to be unscrupulous and dishonest

I've had a good experience with the people at this branch, but the hours are wrong. I went at 5:30 p.m. on Monday & they were closed, even though their posted hours say they're open until 6. They need to update their hours!

Banked with this branch of America First since Sep 2016. Good customer service, a solid credit union. Recommended.

Absolutely Terrible!! GO TO ANY OTHER BRANCH! Or at least use their call center if you have the option. I can do absolutely EVERYTHING I need on the phone, or on the computer, but walk into a branch and all of a sudden, because I'm standing there in the flesh, they cannot do anything to help me. The lady was rude, completely unempathetic, and wouldn't even get a manager to try to help me, after being asked. My driver's license has gone missing, but I have a picture of it, can answer ALL of my security questions, can provide alternative forms of id, and provide my America First branded debit AND credit cards... But that's not enough. I cannot handle my business in a branch. Instead, I have to call the customer service, who are absolutely amazing, super quick, friendly, and helpful. However, the one major thing I need, a cashier's check, cannot be accommodated by phone.

They take 2 weeks to even look at an application. Poor institution and sadly a waste of my time.

They promise the world at the start when building the home until it comes down to the closing on the mortgage and then they are extremely difficult to work with. I will never give America First business again.

I've done banking with them for a long time. I really don't have any complaints as they have always treated me well and have been fair in their decisions to loan money to me. I wish they had more ATMs like in the past such as they used to have one in the SLC International Airport if I remember correctly. It's a pain to pay roughly $3 for out-of-network ATM fees then get tacked on an additional $1.50 non-AFCU transaction fee. You used to be able to use ATMs from most local banks and credit unions (members of the PLUS System) but there are more institutions that aren't members of the PLUS System.

If you want to be consistently disappointed with customer service look no further than America First Credit Union. On average I wait twenty minutes each time I go in for support. One time while trying to replace a debit card the teller asked ten identifying questions AFTER seeing my ID and having me enter my PIN into their number pad. Eventually I just walked out. A few days later I found the card, which I reported to the teller as lost and guess what? They didn’t deactivate the card. So win for me? We’re it not for an incredibly helpful loan officer that is consistently quick to answer texts, I would be at another bank immediately. It’s an underwhelming banking partner and they just prove why it’s better to go with a national player. Oh and their ATMs ask you to put the card in funny.

I am SICK and TIRED of sitting in your drive-thru only to hear there is only one person working the windows. The Wall avenue location is the same situation with the same tired excuse! Hire enough people to serve your customers in a reasonable amount of time!
