The only shop in Moab I fully trust. Very through, helped replace/order/figure out warranty for a remanufactured engine. Friendly, helpful, honest, and fair price. Definitely the place I can rely on.Service: Auto maintenance

Look. If you're looking for a cheap fix, go someplace else. I'm going to tell you straight up. Dropped 2g on a motor for my 07 Avalanchy. They told me straight out. 4 to 6 months out. A Killer long block came in. Another 4g. Literary, 72 Hours later drove it away. Now, I had them replace the Starter, Radiator, and a couple of other things. $9,400.00 Cash. BWTF. Go buy a new truck. Brian is Awesome. Don't mess with his wife or you'll have to mess with Me. Pay or Go Away. You Get What You Pay For. Cheap Fucks NOT Welcome.

Got my car towed to them when it would not start. Super friendly, communicative and gracious! My car was done and ready to pick up exactly when they said it would be and for far less than I thought the repair would be. New favorite mechanics in town!Services: General repairs & maintenance

Brian and his wife Jessica run one of the best mechanic businesses in Moab. They have at least 10 5 star reviews on Facebook and Google each. When people ask for a mechanic in town there are always multiple comments suggesting them from the numerous locals they have done right by. Brian is one of the fairest and smartest mechanics I've ever met (and I come from a family of gear heads). He troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs better than anyone I have met. He's usually booked out a little as he is in demand but totally worth the wait if you can. He works on my mother's multiple vehicles as well as ours. Can't recommend him enough.

This business is the real deal! Brian and Jessica saved us from car distress while we were vacationing in Moab, Utah. They are knowledgeable, honest, helpful and very reasonably priced. They will go the extra mile for you as they did for us! If we lived in the area, they would have all our repair and auto maintenance business. Call them…you won’t regret it!Services: General repairs & maintenance

So as a previous shop owner, I thought long an hard about updating this review because of the possible impact on this business. But, I believe it is my duty to let people know what they are possibly facing if bringing their car in for a come back. Here is my story. A few months back I had some repair work done at this shop. It was to replace a egr pipe on the back of my sprinter engine. About 3 months later the same part broke again. Diagnosed by the mechanic I used in Portland. The cause? The middle bolts had not been attached by the previous mechanic. Because the bolts had been twisted off due to corrosion an some rust etc. Now, this is a regular occurence in auto repair. Bolts break all the time. But usually, when something like this happens, you present it to the customer. You give them the choice of finishing the job the short way, or the longer more complete way. None of these options were presented to me. The work was done cutting corners I didn't approve of, and in the long run, caused the failure of the part because it was not attached properly. Asking them about a warranty was an upward battle. Pro tip- if you ask about a warranty, and their answer is "depends, who is this?", You're about to head down a shitty road After they figured out who it was, a string of excuses rolled in - stuff like, "we don't know how you drive.", "You cancelled on an appointment once with us", "maybe that part was built to break" etc. The front end of their service is great when they're accepting your money. But standing by their work, you'll have to meet a tight rope standard before they will consider it.

TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. It is no small thing to find a mechanic who is trustworthy, reliable, communicative and thorough. I have taken my 08' Subaru to Brian for any and all issues. He has been thorough, timely, and all the repairs have lasted with no further issue. He is direct in suggesting which repairs are necessary and which can wait, his prices are fair, and his wife Jessica is super friendly to complete the transaction with. Many friends in Moab have horror stories from other mechanics, but I can honestly recommend Stotz Auto to anybody looking for a good mechanic, for all the reasons listed above. No doubt he is in high demand, so I recommend calling ahead to get a timeline for your vehicle. Thumbs up!Services: General repairs & maintenance

Brian got my 2004 Expedition in for an alternator repair first thing when we broke down on our way through Moab. Charged a fair price, fixed the alternator quickly and got us back on the road. I've broken down on the road a half dozen times in my life, and this was by far the best experience getting a good mechanic at a fair price.

From a former 5 star auto repair shop owner, I will admit I had reservations about the place. No yelp reviews, and less than 20 reviews on Google left me with a gamble on whether I should trust this shop or not.But my experience here really couldn't have been better. Knowledgeable staff, and precise diagnosis. Courteous attitude, and upfront about pricing. Did the job exactly how I would have done in it my previous shop. Couldn't have asked for better.Services: Exhaust

It’s a bit out of town but well worth the journey. Brian and Jessica were able to quickly take my van in for repair, and charged half of what a Salt Lake City mechanic had estimated a week before.Very kind people.
