This place has changed my life. I’ve never been a gym rat but SLC strength and conditioning has built in motivation with the classes. Instructors are attentive and instructive on correct positioning while lifting weights. Great place and super glad I joined!

I love this gym. I’ve been going for about two months now and it’s great. The trainers are all knowledgeable and very helpful if you need alternates for injury or based on your level, the workouts are fun and challenging and the class environment is very encouraging. Would absolutely recommend.

I am so glad I found this gym. The trainers - Steve, Luke, Alyssa, and Spencer - are all highly trained, patient, and observant. I have been doing resistance training for about 40 years, but after only four months here, I have learned way more technique than all the rest of that time. I have also learned dozens of new exercises. I came to this gym because I had become frustrated with recurring injuries and slow progress. I have made tremendous progress here. As one example, I had long since given up on squats, due to the pain and injury from never having the right technique (even after working with a personal trainer). Working with trainers at SLC, I was able to correct my form after just a couple of sessions. The atmosphere of this gym is also outstanding - people of all shapes, sizes, and ages working in a non-competitive environment where you receive plenty of challenge, but always with attention to avoiding injury and overuse. This gym is absolutely outstanding.

Great collegiate-level personal trainers. Alyssa has been excellent and I'm really happy with the progress I'm making. I have some old injuries and I feel generally better now than I have in years. All the staff and trainers appear highly competent, very welcoming, and they all seem to be in very good shape. Rule #1: never work with an unfit trainer. Pricing also seems fair, considering these are better than average trainers who all have experience working at university athletics programs. The gym has most everything you'd need equipment-wise and is focused primarily on barbell and dumbbell work, which is perfect. Thankfully there's no "machine" type training apparatuses that you'd see at a cheap mcdonalds gym, not even a smith machine. This is good. But, it is more of a DIY garage style gym and is short a few basics, like showers and non-slip floor surfaces (upstairs racks, basement back room), which are fixes that could improve the experience.Group classes are a bit crowded for my taste, so I can't say if they are good or not, but they do seem very popular. However, the classes greatly limit the amount of available open gym time, which is probably my biggest complaint and why I still pay for a separate gym membership for my own work-outs that fall beyond the hours of 10am-3pm. But it's a not a giant gym, so I sympathize.Overall I give 5 stars, despite any detractions, simply because the trainers are so good, and I think that's really this gym's "core strength" anyways, rather than open hours, amenities, etc.I'm really glad this gym exists amid the sea of bad trainers, and I look forward to more. Thank you for the pump.

I just show up half awake, leave 50 min later drenched in hard work -- rinse and repeat each day of the week. Something had to give and going here has been a noticeable positive mental and physical change for me. The staff and clientele has been welcoming and friendly regardless if people are doing heavy lifting of just getting started. Not that I want the place to fill up, but I highly recommend trying it out. It hurts so good.

Best gym ever!!! No ageism, attitude and no fluff. Workouts are hard, but doable. With consistency, results - both mental and physical - are seen quickly.

My first month at SLC Strength and Conditioning has been wonderful! Coming from a CrossFit background, I was looking for group training that was challenging but more well rounded. I live the non competitive attitude, and I feel I can push myself in a smarter healthier way! I really appreciate the attention to mobility work, and workouts incorporate work for knees, tendons etc. I’m loving the coaches and the programming!

I tried SLC Strength & Conditioning’s personal training service for seven sessions last July. Their gym is clean and includes all the necessary equipment for a well rounded workout. My goal was to work with someone on targeting and lowering my body fat. I was disappointed because there was no focus on tracking and assessing my progress in the form of quantifiable metrics, which I expected from a personal trainer. The sessions were more like general fitness classes that I’ve taken where the instructor follows a general workout routine and makes minor adjustments where needed. There was also no focus on nutrition. I understand that SLC Strength offers a nutrition program at a separate cost. However, the website is slightly misleading by stating under the physical fitness service description that coaches help you succeed with “an in-depth workout and nutrition plan that is tailored to your unique goals.” I was never offered a nutrition plan and my trainer generally seemed disinterested in my personal progress.I refrained from posting this because I just chalked it up to a bad experience with a trainer and not necessarily a reflection of the business itself. However, after quitting SLC Strength & Conditioning last year (with one session still left on my account), my credit card was spontaneously charged $280 for another month of training recently without my authorization. What compelled me to leave this review was that it took three days, and leaving two messages requesting that someone call me back with more information about the erroneous charge, for someone to finally call me back and address the matter. Ultimately, it was resolved and the result of some sort of glitch in their system, but the fact that I had to put in as much effort as I did to resolve the matter was frustrating and not good business practice.

I would recommend this gym for anyone, regardless of fitness or skill level. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and able to adapt the program for any one. I’ve been going to this gym for many months and can’t say enough great things abt them. They help me be my best!
