A few years back Young was a decent Jeep dealer. Not anymore. I have owned Jeeps now for over thirty years. I am on my seventh Jeep. One Cherokee and six Wranglers. My 2021 JLUR in May and took my Jeep into Young to get it all fixed up. It too them 10 weeks to do almost nothing and send the Jeep back home with me with hidden damage that Schnieder's Auto Body in SLC found later. Communication was terrible to the point where I had to go in person and try to talk with them. To compound the issue my son-in-law who now is driving my 2014 JKUR had another terrible experience during my 10 week ordeal. So when I was asked by the service manager if I had a good experience I said no and can I call you? Crickets.... Stay away. If you need body repair and paint to to Schnieder's in SLC.

Initially, I was going to post a negative review in the hope of dissuading potential customers from having to interact with this dealership. After looking at the other reviews it became clear mine would just get lost amongst all the other one-star reviews. Apparently, I'm not the first person they've been shady with. So, I'll give them a one-star rating and let the court of public opinion decide. Bonus entertainment: If you search the internet carefully you can find the text messages and a recording of the phone call with the manager where he hangs up on me... Here's how it went down. TLDR version: drive North one hour to Logan if you want a Jeep. First, the good: called the dealership and talked with Zach Thomas. Fantastic dude. If, for some reason, you do business here, talk to him! He found the vehicle I located on their website. I explained to him the deal I was looking for and that I lived around 500 miles away. He worked with his manager (not sure which one at this point in the process) and we got the deal penciled out. I provided him all of my information to work out the financing and we agreed to meet halfway the next day. My wife was excited as the new vehicle was going to be hers. This was around noon. The not so good: After not hearing anything for a couple of hours Zach explains that he's busy but is working on the paperwork. Perfect! While this is going on my wife has cleaned and detailed her old vehicle. She even took all of her stuff out so we wouldn't have to transfer it all the next day. She is beyond excited at this point. We've been looking for a new vehicle for her for a while. The bad: It's getting late- like 7pm. I still haven't got the details on the financing and no word from anyone about finalizing the deal. Zach tells me the manager is super busy and I'm third in line. I'm starting to think that they don't want to honor the deal. Another hour goes by. Nothing. After 8pm I get a notification that my credit has been pulled. A couple of minutes later Zach calls me and puts me on speaker phone with the sales manager, Jason Shipley. Jason proceeds to tell me that the finance terms are not what they should be because, in part, there weren't a lot of lenders financing vehicles that late at night. I explained to him that the finance terms were an important part of the deal and that they had previously agreed to those terms when I sent them all my information. I tell him that I'm frustrated that they are just now putting the deal together and that I am thinking they don't want to honor the deal they made. Had they done it earlier in the day we could have easily got the financing done. He tells me that he's sorry and that they dropped the ball but says that I have two options: I can either do the deal at the higher rate and eat the difference or we can call the deal off. I explain that I don't think I should have to pay more because of their mistakes and that, had I known they were going to put me in this position, I would have just bought the vehicle from their competitor. He tells me that he would prefer I buy the vehicle from their competitor. He provides no solution and again tells me that I can either take the new deal or leave it. I begin to explain to him that it is almost 9pm and he's forcing me to either disappoint my wife or take a loss (versus the other deal I had penciled out with his competition and the fact that I now have five hard credit pulls on my file and no new vehicle) just to do business with them. He interrupts me and says that he's no longer interested in doing the deal and hangs up on me. So, there it is. Rather than conclusory remarks about the business or their practices I've provided the facts for you to decide on your own. As an aside, I've never understood why some people think that car dealerships are scummy. It's always just been business for me. After interacting with Jason Shipley and watching my wife (crying) put all of her things back in her car I understand now

Terrible service department. Came for an issue with my car. They diagnose the issue and told me the part is on back order for two months. Didn't even provide for a car during that two months time. Once the part came in, the issue was still there and they misdiagnose the car. So they kept the car for another month. When I came pick it up, the issue came back 2 weeks later. I got so fed up and brought it to another place. That place was able to fix the issue within an hour. Worse thing is I had to push them to work on the car, if I was able to talk to them. They shouldn't even be in business.

This service department is terrible. They are crooks, completely dishonest and should never be used. Its $188 just to hook up to their scanner, on a part I came in telling was the problem. They wouldn't just give me the part price but had to diagnose by hooking up to scanner. Then insisted they'd done an hours work. Youve all been warned, don't make my mistake!! I hope that $188 was worth it, you've made enemies.

They totally ripped off my mother in law on her trade, then we canceled a bunch of "add ons" ans still have yet to get the refunds back. She bought her Compass back in December 2022 and here it is June 2023 and we're still trying to get her money refunded to her loan with the credit union. Skyler in finance got the $1,400 refunded to her in April but she's still owed another $1,100. I was also promised another $2,000 that the manager said he would give her to make us feel a little better about the con job they performed on my mother in law, only to have them go back ob it because they said that was only if I didn't give them negative reviews. Oh really? I don't think so. They should've given her $10,000 back and I still would've told others about this experience.

I will never come to this dealership. Worst customer service and communication with them. Since i didn't give them a good rating because sales person didn't know anything about new jeep, they didnt wanted to fix exterior paint chip and other issues. They schedule appt to pick up my spare keys and it's been hours waiting. I do not recommend this place. I'll be going to larry h miller for serive on my jeep.

We bought a new 2022 Wagoneer from Young Jeep in Layton. We drove down from Montana because the advertised price on their website specifically stated that there was a -$10k "Young Discount" on the vehicle that we bought in addition to the Stellantis bonuses and rebates, but when we went in to the finance office to discuss pricing they said that "they didn't know anything about a Young Discount of $10k and that they couldn't sell it for that amount." even after I showed them the price for that VIN on the website. They stated that "Their marketing team down the street must have put that up there and they don't communicate with them on pricing." The website did not mention that the vehicle had been used as a loaner vehicle, but our Salesman (Tanner) did mention that during our test drive. After some haggling we were able to arrive at an acceptable price, and we did opt for the paint protection package. We pointed out a few scuffs in the paint and let them know that we would be picking the vehicle up in a little over a week. Working with Tanner was great, he communicated well, knew his product, asked us if we had any questions. I do recommend that they consider changing their current paint protection film provider from their current provider to CoaticLabs. Their current provider wrapped right over excessive wax that the dealer applied, and there were stretch marks a air bubbles. We actually refused the car and had them re-wrap the front to take care of the imperfections, which delayed our scheduled ceramic coat. CoaticLabs did our ceramic coat for 1/2 the price Young wanted for their provider to apply the ceramic coat (and they did an AWESOME job - would highly recommend CoaticLabs for PPF and ceramic coat). Overall, our rating is a 4 star only because of the service we received from Tanner.

I'm very surprised to see all the negative comments here, however I notice that many dealt with service not sales. I have not used the service department yet so will talk about sales only. My experience was better than I anticipated. I felt that I got a very fair value for my trade. I admit that I was a difficult customer as I was very particular to get a good price on my vehicle and I walked out, or I guess I should say drove away with a smile on my face. My salesman and the sales manager bent over backwards to make sure I got the car I wanted even at a price a fair amount lower than what they originally wanted to sell it for. I drove away with an immaculately clean car with a full tank of gas and two years free maintenance at a price I was happy with. I got it on a Friday evening and on Monday morning my salesman called to ask if everything was as I expected. What more could I ask for. Now . . . we'll see about service in a few months. I'm a "senior citizen" and have purchased multiple cars over the years and have worked in retail sales so I'm not some neophyte that can be fooled into thinking I've got a deal when I haven't. I also did a lot of homework prior to looking to make the purchase. The vehicle I bought is a Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited. My great salesman was Max Stromberg and the sales manager was Billy Hewitt. If you don't have a favorite salesman at this dealership already I would strongly recommend you give Max a call.
