I have been buying and borrowing here for about 4 years now and have always had a good experience. They are the most reasonable and willing to work with that I have found and I trust them. Today I needed a loan on a high end acoustic guitar and Holly and Margaret did me right.
If I am looking for used tools & the like I tend to come here first .

You can find great deals at this place. The only observation is that people behind the counter did not acknowledge your presence, I literally had to say hi first to get their attention. Once they’re helping you, you can negotiate with them, just don’t expect advice and beyond customer service or friendliness

HY & Mike's Pawn - Layton, Ogden, Clearfield, Roy The Pace Brothers (not to be confused with the 3 stooges) have been doing business with HY & Mikes since opening and have never met HY or Mike? All of it's locations & staff have treated us great through the years. . . Mostly Used Merchandise at a Fair Used Price! We always walked away smiling :) Great Service, Selection and Value!

The shop isn't great. I came in to look at the gun section. It was small and left and while in my car, the owner came out said "yup he" is like I was doing something wrong and went back in. Weirdest interaction and made me extremely uncomfortable when I wasn't doing anything wrong. This layton location.

Great place where you can find treasures and have a friendly and professional experience. Thanks Holly, Hayley and Dayton for always treating me and my boy like family when we come in! (Sorry if I spelled any names wrong) Hy and Mikes layton is a cool place to stop by and poke around. Even found that Yamaha guitar I’ve been after and practically stole it from them!!

So, I went in to check this place out due to the great reviews. However I was shocked at what they price the stuff they have for sale. I've dealt with pawn shops in the past and know how they operate. If it's worth $500 they offer $100, they may go higher but not much yet in their gun cabinet they have several firearms for sale all at higher than new prices. They have a RIA 10mm for $699 used! I recently purchased one new right down the street for $697. AM the guns I saw were priced at or over new retail. I also browsed their tools and electronics. No thank you. Just go to a store and get new for around the same price and get a warranty. The folks working there may be nice but I'd be nice too if i was soaking people with the high prices. I guess if you're in dire straits and need a loan go for it but be aware if you're looking to buy you'll find as good or better deals new at a brick n mortar or online.

My son wanted to sell his Nintendo Switch. We went to a local game store and they would not buy it. We went to Hy & Mikes and Holly said she would buy it from him. Then she called another game store and found out they would buy it and pay my son double the money. Thank you.
